The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 414 - 414 Hammers coming down
414: Hammers coming down.
414: Hammers coming down.
Zhang Bo looked at the expensive silver watch on his arm and he let out a small sigh.
One minute and thirty seconds, that was how long it had taken for hammers to start coming down.
Of course, it wasn’t unexpected that his younger brother would be laying down the lay as far as his wife was concerned.
One, it was Alix’s business and she didn’t want Nana there.
It was up to Caishen as her husband to ensure that he relayed the message to his family.
Two, their mother was going to attend the opening ceremony so Nana’s presence there would be an inconvenience.
All three siblings looked at their father, waiting for his response to Caishen’s words.
“I understand.” Zhang Xian responded.
Caishen reeled his head back slowly and took a deep breath.
“I want to make this clear dad, i do not want your….that woman there.
This is not one of those times where she just shows up and everyone will be forced to tolerate her just because we want to appear the happy big family in public.
If i see her there, i will have my men break her legs and return her to this house as nothing more than a limp puppet.
The way i see it, i will be saving us all from her stupidity.” So rigid, with a stern look on his face, Caishen warned his father.
“Ahem!” Someone cleared their throat from behind and everyone turned around.
They saw grandma Zhang, two maids and Nana standing there.
Caishen barely glanced at the red faced Nana before looking back at his father.
Suddenly, someone made a sobbing sound and footsteps hurried away from the living room.
“There she goes again.” Grandma Zhang sighed.
Nana had become an expert at crying and running away when she didn’t like what she heard especially if it was related to her.
“Well i am not going after her.” Zhang An announced loudly.
She uncrossed her legs, stood up and walked over to her grandmother.
“Grandmother, is it time for breakfast?” “Has the discussion ended?” Grandma Zhang smiled at her granddaughter and patted her hand.
“It has barely started.” Grandpa Zhang answered.
“I have not yet told them the wonderful news about young Yong’s engagement plans yet.” Bo, Caishen and An shared looks of surprise.
After exchanging those looks, they turned to their grandfather.
“Young Yong!” Zhang An muttered.
“That…., Wang Yong.” She was not the only one that still referred to him as Wang and not Zhang.
“Wow, he is already engaged!
Didn’t he just move overseas only a while ago?
Has he found himself a foreign girlfriend?” she further asked.
With intent, grandpa Zhang responded to Zhang An’s questions, keeping his eyes on Caishen.
“No, it’s not the case.
His fiancé is the third youngest granddaughter of the Rui family.
Elder Rui and I have discussed this extensively and we both agree that a union of both families through marriage is a great idea.” He stopped talking, took a long pause and watched for Caishen’s reaction.
He was the one on bad terms with Rui Ka Kui after all and now Rui Ka Kui’s daughter was to marry into their family.
The news was still being digested slowly by all siblings.
Zhang Bo was the first to speak up.
“We are one of the largest groups in the country, world even.
A marriage alliance doesn’t seem like something we need in order to expand.” “Whose daughter is she?” Caishen asked.
It was not unusual for family’s like theirs to make such arrangements but what mattered more was the individual they were attaching themselves to and where that person’s loyalties lay.
Not everyone in the Rui family was bad but there some bad apples in their bunch that he preferred were kept away.
“Rui Ka Kui.” Zhang Xian responded.
As expected, Caishen frowned.
“It’s not a good idea.” he said strongly.
“Wait…..i know some of the women from the Rui family, those in my generation.
Some of them are very annoying.” Zhang An rolled a few strands of her hair around her finger as she thought about those women.
She had been involved in a scuffle with someone from the Rui family a few years ago.
It ended with the activation of the package and her grandmother sending a luxury brooch over.
Grandpa Zhang had no plans of waiting for Zhang An to come around and he responded to Caishen, wanting to clear the air and settle this matter as effectively and quickly as possible.
“The Rui family is mostly involved in weapons and politics which we normally don’t involve ourselves with but the environment is changing.
There have been a lot of small changes in the country in the last few years and a lot of families ae forming groups as if they are preparing for something.
That secret file on Lai Yanfang and investigation into the Lai family has revealed other things that we will need to discuss in depth later but from all indications, we need to become stronger or we will be swept away.” Caishen scowled and shook his head.
He understood all that his grandfather was saying and there was value in some of it but inviting a scorpion into their family was not the solution.
“Rui Ka Kui is a greedy man who will step over anyone and anything to climb to the top of Rui corporation.
How do you know that he will not use his daughter to influence Wang Yong into messing up our family and our business?” Adding on to Caishen’s words, Zhang Bo also expressed his strong disagreement.
“Wang Yong was already used by Lai Yanfang in the plot to try and kill Caishen because he is weak, cowardly and greedy.
This is proof that he is gullible and easily led around by the nose.
Basically, he has no spine.” Zhang Xian winced at Bo’s strong words.
Wang Yong’s involvement in the unfortunate events that led to Caishen’s near death and confinement to a wheel chair were well known in the family by now but it was something that was going ignored.
Nobody was mentioning it and they were acting as if it was a balloon which would pop at any moment.
Feeling the need to defend the absent Wang Yong, Zhang Xian carefully stepped in.
“Caishen, son, your brother is a little foolish and he made a mistake but….” Bo waved his hand in a dismissive gesture.
“Please don’t make excuses for him as if he is a child.
He is a grown man that never even bothered to apologize and he bargained his way out of the mess as much as he could.
We were kind enough to forgive him and even allow him to escape from his crimes with zero consequences.
He is lucky that he is related to us by blood or i would have snapped his neck.” In the midst of the revelations, the one person who was still out of the loop concerning almost everything was Zhang An who gasped loudly.
She took to her feet and folded her fist, expressing her anger loudly.
“What…wait, that Wang Yong was involved in your accident!
Is he crazy?
How dare he try to kill my big brother?
I will teach that little bastard a big lesson if i ever set my eyes on him again.”
