The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 368 - 368 Ready to change to Tai
368: Ready to change to Tai 368: Ready to change to Tai They concluded their business and the mayor opened the door.
As expected, the number of people waiting outside her office was a handful, a dozen at least by her count.
Her bodyguards, the principal, some teachers, Jin Kang and even Jenny.
The news about the presence of the mayor in the school was a big deal.
Everyone was standing in that hallway and staring as if they were looking at a celebrity.
Some of them had shiny eyes, glistening with excitement because the mayor was an important man.
The very first important political figure to come to the school ever since its opening.
Before anyone could speak up, the principal went first.
“Director, we…ah, hem.” He stopped because someone poked him really hard in the back.
Alix and the mayor didn’t see the poking but some of the teachers did.
It was Jin Kang that poked the principal in the back, warning him to stop talking.
She had already told the others too, that since they didn’t know why the mayor had come, it was best to allow him or Alix speak first.
Without letting things become too awkward and in a hurry to leave, mayor Qui was the first to speak up.
“Greetings everyone, i am mayor Qui.” He dressed up in his best neutral political smile and asked, “Is everyone here to see me?” The principal rushed to greet and held his hand out.
“Goodmorning Mr.
mayor.” Other teachers followed, greeting similarly with excited smiles.
Some even had their phones out, ready to ask for pictures.
Alix clapped her hands to get their attention and save the mayor from having to fake more pleasantries.
“Okay, enough with the greeting.
I know that you are all excited but please understand that the mayor is here on official business.
He is inspecting the condition of schools and buildings after the earthquake.
Since i already did that with you all earlier on, i have assured him that all is well with our school.” The school bell rung and everyone looked around.
Even if they wanted to stay, they couldn’t anymore.
“Bi Cang, escort the mayor to his car please.” Alix used the ringing of the bell to her advantage.
Further more, she noticed that the principal was still angling to get that picture and she said, “Principal, please follow me to my office.” She didn’t wait for a response and turned on her back, heading into the office and leaving the principal with no room to wiggle.
The principal was torn between running after the mayor or following his employer.
His employer won, because she paid his salary and benefits.
He followed Alix into her office willingly.
“Please, sit.” she told him.
While he was sitting, she retrieved a paper with a drawing of what looked like a portable game console and handed it to him.
“I am thinking of distributing these to the students, the seniors specifically.
” “Director, you want the seniors to play games?” “It’s not a game but a learning machine.
It’s designed to operate like a game in order to keep the interest of children however all the material that is uploaded onto it is strictly educational.
I want you to discuss this with the teachers and give me feedback on whether it is a good idea.” The principal continued looking at the console and reading the information about the learning machine.
He had these deep lines on his forehead that formed wrinkles.
“I am seeing some information here about AI.
While it seems interesting, i think we would need the device itself to see how it works.” he responded unsurely.
He didn’t think Alix had something like this on hand.
It looked expensive and he had never heard about it.
Even if it existed, how much would they have to spend to put one in the hands of every senior?
They would also need to consult parents, the education board and the children about it.
They couldn’t simply introduce a new method of learning and impose it on the children.
A bag landed on the table, dropped there by Alix.
It made a thud as it landed down.
“I had a feeling that you would say this so i made preparations in advance.
I will leave everything in your capable hands for now.
Come to me if you meet any barriers.” The principal opened the zipper of the bag to look inside.
He wanted to study the device extensively and understand how it worked.
He also wanted to know who created it and many other things.
“This…..” The door to Alix’s office opened and a loud voice cut off his next words.
“Sister, we have brought your breakfast.” Tai Jiaan entered inside with loud stomping feet.
He was followed by the calmer Lin brothers and grandpa Tai.
Their entrance made the principal take a step back.
He picked up the bag and excused himself.
She came out from behind her desk and sat down on the closet couch.
Jiaan had come with her home made breakfast sent by auntie Mo as usual.
“Jiaan, you should speak more softly on school grounds.” “I keep telling him that but he doesn’t listen.” Grandpa Tai mumbled.
He sneered at his unruly grandson and sat down opposite Alix, helping her open the breakfast box.
While he was doing that, Wu Wei opened bottles of juice and Yuewei opened the other breakfast boxes.
In a matter of seconds, the table was filled with appetizing and colorful foods.
“How were your classes?” Alix asked the boys as she moved her chopsticks.
“Cold.” Tai Jiaan responded with a mouth full of food.
“Interesting.” Wu Wei answered.
Yuewei smiled and said, “They are building an indoor baseball facility on the lower floor of the annex building.
Sister, do you think i should make a full switch from badminton to baseball?” “Let your sister eat in peace.
You can ask these questions from home.” grandpa Tai told them.
The boys obediently kept quiet and focused on their meals.
But then, the one that told them not to bother Alix spoke up.
“I saw the mayor leaving Alix.
What brought him to our school?” Dissatisfied, Tai Jiaan responded before Alix could.
“Grandpa, you said sister should eat in peace.
If you are going to talk then i am also going to talk.
I want to tell her my good news that the coach gave me.” “You brat, i am your elder.” Grandpa Tai told Tai Jiaan.
“Sister, this is a case of the old suppressing the young.” Tai Jiaan mumbled.
Yuewei shoved a turnip cake into Tai Jiaan’s mouth to shut him up.
Grandpa Tai approved of Yuewei’s actions and he handed another turnip cake to Yuewei.
“Add this one too so that he can shut up properly.” Alix watched them with joy as she savored her breakfast.
The twins were much more well behaved.
They were eating their food slowly and carefully as if they were dining out in public under a spotlight.
“Aah, they are so cute.” she thought.
She looked at Yuewei and Jiaan and she sighed.
The older ones were full of mischief.
When she looked over to grandpa Tai, he was looking at her the same way she was looking at the twins, with affection and love.
Perhaps now was the time to tell him about the decision she had taken on something he had long wished for.
“Grandpa, i think we should find time for me to officially change my name.
I am ready now.”
