The World's most Overpowered Side-Character -
Chapter 439 - 439: The New World Order.
"Buche..." Giza mused at the name, almost to a comical degree. "I do not know of such a person," She looked at Umbra with a smirk. "It is quite interesting that they chose to manipulate someone rather than show themself, though." She chuckled, glancing around at the people around them who seemed none the wiser of what was happening.
"Giza, would you take this a little more seriously?" Umbra clicked his tongue in annoyance at her nonchalance, slowly prying the man's hand off himself and staring at him. "Where is this Buche?"
"I do not know," The man answered quickly, trying to hold on to his hand again. "Please, do not leave, I am dead if you leave!"
"If he wants to meet me he should have shown himself in person, why should I be the one to go to him?" Umbra slightly ushed the man, pointing his finger at him while a small grin slowly crept its way onto his face. "And your life?"
"Why would anyone care about the fate of a single man when all life is destined for eradication?"
"N-no, wait, please!" The man began waving his hands when Umbra's eyes turned dark.
His already distorted vision blurred further, fading to black and then slowly his body fell limply before them absent of a soul, even with all that commotion nobody seemed to notice the corpse.
"Lord Buche is requesting your presence," A woman approached them just as the man had before, terrified and unable to refuse this Buche character's influence.
"This is annoying." Umbra grabbed the woman by her face, crushing her skull with a dismissive huff and turning to Giza. "I don't know what this person wants but all he's doing right now is pissing me off." He complained, flashing the blood off his hands and watching as more people began approaching them.
"I agree, a coward incapable of appearing in person is not worth your attention or presence, My Lord." She made her stance clear and then waved her hand. "I pay no heed to this creature, you have a journey ahead still."
Within just a moment the entire city was one great veil of black having been subject to her power unfiltered, killing everything within a dome of despair and silence.
"Oh?" Giza hummed as soon as she raised the veil, seeing a craft crashing through several buildings towards them. "Persistent, annoying." She began frowning seeing the possessed pilot crying out as he crashed towards her. "My lord-"
"Destroy them all." Umbra ordered her, usually such a tone would have caused her to look at him peculiarly but for once she felt no hesitance as she carried out his order, raising her hand toward the ship first and stopping it mid-air with just a thought and thenballing her fist generating a great veil once more, encompassing the entire galaxy they resided inside of.
"Before my power, life itself cowers and flees." Her hair slowly began floating around her head her eyes turned to black and her mana presence disappeared, leaving a sense of emptiness as all within her scope of influence stopped breathing, planets, stars, all life went extinct in a fraction of a second leaving a darkness like none other occupying the cosmos.
"Shall we be off then?" She asked, turning to Umbra who had always been slightly spooked whenever she used that specific power, this was something that only she could do, pure absence; even more than he could achieve.
This was the power he planned on stealing from her.
"Yes," Umbra answered her sharply while she grabbed him in a hug and the two of them vanished into her Void space.
"My Lord?"
"What is it?" Umbra asked following behind her with his hand and her's locked, since the moment he let go she would vanish from his sight.
"You are troubled by my power even after all this time."
"Anyone with any sense would be, Giza, you're dangerous, for this reason I would rather you and I remain acquaintances."
"Not partners, allies, or even lovers?" She chuckled teasingly.
"That's unachievable even for you, we are mutually benefitting from being together, you use me for your goals just as much as I use you for mine, its an arrangement that only we could come to." He kept his gaze ahead rather than look at her while he spoke.
"Hm," She hummed in thought. "In the past, that may not have been entirely true, but even I have to admit, as you are now, my sweet Umbra, you and I are the most compatible, something close to what Sol Vestic and that woman are; we embody this arena of darkness.
"I would rather not be compared to that coward."
"The truth is the truth, my Lord."
***Sol Collective***
"Where is this place?" An Uonite woman asked, but rather than speak she heard herself broadcast across the network she had severed her antennae to avoid.
"Why can I hear everyone again?"
"Gods its so loud here, all of you shut up!"
"Who said that, I dare you to say it again, say it out loud coward!"
One after the other, a trickle of thoughts turned into wars of the collective mind after the peopole of Uon found themselves on a rich and green world full of natural resources and small creatures, void of all technology.
"That's enough out of you all." Sol spoke up, given their mass it was impossible to face them all at once, so he used projections across the world to address them.
"Who's this?" A woman questioned.
"Doesn't he look familiar?" Another asked.
"Where is this?"
"Another word or thought in protest and you will lose your ability to think altogether." Ikaris spoke up while a projection of her appeared next to Sol.
"My name is Sol Vestic," He began after several people lost their minds and fainted while the others lost their ability to run away, forced to pay attention by Alpha. "I came to your homeworld recently, I was intrigued by your Utopian laws and ideologies, but what I found was a broken war-ridden cespool, I already know what happened to you, but how did the loss of a single man cause you all to lose yourselves like that?" He asked, knowing well than nobody could answer.
"Well, it doesn't matter now I suppose, you see, rather than destroy you all or abandon you to do the same to yourselves eventually, I thought of giving you all a chance to live again, sort of." He crossed his arms.
"You who have never warred caused one on a global scale and the vast majority even became feverishly addicted to the killing, you've all become unrecognisable beings to me, you are no longer Uonite by blood, you have become an entirely new species and as such, you'll start over."
"I won't give you a choice on this one, you either adapt to your new home or die to the beasts scattered across the world hidden in the waters, roaming the lands and treading the clouds, survive, band together and become one again, or face an inevitable demise."
"In case you have not noticed," Ikaris added. "There is not a single minor amongst you, you people plundered the innocence of your own children and suffered them a world incapable of healing ...incapable of love, until you are worthy, none of you will give birth, this is a curse placed upon your bodies, so if you fail to adapt and change you truly will die out."
"And for all those already planning on taking the child of another, there are three set to govern fairness over your new world; the Goddess of Equity, Gadriel and the Goddess of Justice, Gabrielle have been tasked with watching over them, the first sin is taking what does not belong to you.
For every sin you commit, a corresponding curse will be cast upon you, any who surpass ten curses will be marked by Saat, the Goddess of Sins and die."
"I implore you to live honest lives from now on."
"Wh..." a woman slowly opened her mouth when she realised she could speak again. "Why not just kill us now then?"
"Because I believe you can change for the better," Sol appeared at her side and rested his hand on her head. "Survive and become residents of my collective, Giza will not harm you here, no being will."
"Thank you," A man before them fell to his knees with his fingers filding in the short grass. "I swear, I will change!"
"Your words mean nothing to me," Sol replied tapping the woman's head a bit more and then vanishing. "This was a hard decision, the Uon I met was only worthy of eradication, even my peers agreed that you were better off left in your self-made hell."
The projections of Sol and Ikaris vanished from across the globe.
"Prove them wrong."
[Congratulations, you have been incorporated into the system, henceforth creature dungeons will periodically spawn, band together and close these dungeons if you desire life.]
"What? How do we close dungeons?"
[Everything you need to know will be updated inside of the codex accessible through your menu.]
[This is your sentence].
"Lord Vestic," Saat knelt next to him. "I thank you for giving me a chance to make right the wrongs I committed against you, it is truly an honour."
"Everyone is getting a new start, be careful not to piss of Ikaris's kin, they share the same temper she does." Sol nodded and then looked to the twins. "And you two-"
"I will do my best!" Gabrielle pumped her fists excitedly.
"As will I," Gadriel smiled poking her sister's side to calm down.
"Good, good luck as well."
