Chapter 682: Chapter 487: High-speed vibrating and electrified tentacle
"For mixed heritage like you, if more than half is human, then you’re human."
The old security guard wrote the word "human" in the species column.
"Others also need to register."
He tapped the table and said.
"Alright. You guys come down and register too."
Liu Zheng called down the Tentacle Monster and Salmon.
"Does the Driver need to register?"
He asked.
"That depends on whether you’ll be driving the car inside."
The old security guard said.
"So should I drive inside or not?"
Liu Zheng asked in an inquisitive tone.
"Young man, for being so polite, I’ll give you a piece of advice."
The old security guard said with a half-smile.
"Go ahead. Oh, wait, sorry, I wrote a character wrong here, let me redo it."
He crossed out the word "human" and rewrote it, slipping a wad of cash into the registration book along the way.
"My advice is, don’t waste your efforts; we’re not going to tell you anything."
The old security guard deftly pocketed the cash and then leisurely said.
"..."
Liu Zheng’s anger rose inside, but he suppressed it with his strong will.
Now is not the time for his "anger issues" to flare up.
But after calming down, he pondered the security guard’s words and seemed to realize something.
From the old security guard’s statement, it was clear they’d received orders not to disclose information, though Liu Zheng wondered if this was targeted at him personally or all Bloody Restaurant employees.
If the security guard was purely malicious, there’d be no reason to say anything and just remain silent.
So, there must be useful information in those words.
When Pond Master gave Liu Zheng the turtle shell, Driver hadn’t been considered, so it was expected that with the turtle shell, they’d be able to escape Emperor’s Garden.
Pond Master used to be the spokesperson for the sewer; even if not on par with Administrator Si Xue or Peacock, his estimation of their strength shouldn’t be too far off.
So even if they can’t escape to land, reaching the bridgehead should be possible.
Liu Zheng looked inside the Emperor’s Garden but found he couldn’t see anything beyond ten meters ahead.
"Then I won’t drive inside."
After some thought, he made a decision.
"Park the car over there; first-hour parking is free for visitors, and after that, it’s 1000 an hour billed in full-hour increments."
The old security guard pointed to an empty space to the right of the gate.
Luckily, it’s not too far away.
"Alright."
Liu Zheng returned to the tank.
"What’s the deal?"
The Driver asked.
"Park as close to the entrance as possible and keep the engine running, ready to fire at any moment."
He replied.
"Alright, you’re the Commander now."
The Driver shrugged.
"Don’t worry, the first shot will be yours."
Liu Zheng laughed.
"Hahaha, you really are too endearing."
The Driver laughed heartily and patted his shoulder.
"Let’s go."
Exiting the tank, Liu Zheng led a person and a cat through the gate of the Emperor’s Garden.
"My goodness, where have you brought me to?"
As soon as he entered, he couldn’t help but exclaim.
Inside the neighborhood, there weren’t rows of townhouses or garden villas scattered beautifully, but a vibrant expanse of wildland.
Green grass, colorful flowers, assorted trees, and all kinds of small animals roaming the fields.
"Have I come to a mansion district or a nature reserve?"
Liu Zheng remarked speechlessly.
"Rich people, their aesthetic may differ from ours, it’s quite normal."
The Tentacle Monster was quite composed.
"I have a rich relative who likes living in a fish tank."
"Is it because of race habits?"
He asked curiously.
"No, our species are terrestrial and prefer dry not wet. He does it just to show he’s different from us poor relatives."
The Tentacle Monster shook his head.
"Sure enough, wealth breeds eccentricity."
Liu Zheng mused.
"Who says it doesn’t?"
The Tentacle Monster spread his tentacles.
"Good thing I didn’t drive the tank inside."
Seeing the endless green land, he was relieved.
Any random turn might crush a multitude of flowers and plants.
With Peacock’s malice towards him, compensation wouldn’t settle this.
"God of Fool, we’ve entered the neighborhood but don’t see any signs."
Liu Zheng called the God of Fool.
"Oh, wait a moment, I’ll soon provide guidance."
Once the God of Fool finished speaking, a patch of gray mist rose in the distance, within which a glowing staircase was faintly visible.
"Do you see the Spirit Fog?"
The God of Fool asked.
"Yes, thank you, God of Fool."
"You’re welcome. I’m at the original fortress awaiting your arrival."
The God of Fool spoke warmly.
"The God of Fool lives up to the title; even guiding is quite flashy."
The Tentacle Monster said sincerely.
"Such high-tier figures, even their flatulence would be extraordinary."
Liu Zheng casually replied.
"Makes sense. Hey, do you think if I offer to clean the God of Fool’s litter box, he’d agree?"
The Tentacle Monster asked hesitantly.
"That depends if once done cleaning, you’d throw it out or eat it yourself."
He squinted and said.
"Impossible. I’m a writer with principles and integrity!"
The Tentacle Monster jumped like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, face filled with anger.
"Then you?"
"At most, I’d make it into a pillow so I can sleep feeling the God of Fool’s aura. Maybe I’d wake up with a brilliant manuscript, heh heh."
