The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human? -

Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Spitting Everywhere, Squandering a Family Fortune
It didn’t take long for Liu Zheng to reach his destination.
West River Center.
It was a small building of about 11 stories, quite short for an office building.
But the rent for this kind of office building was even higher, just like how detached houses are more expensive than high-rises.
The flow of people entering and leaving the office building was neither heavy nor light.
Most of them were dressed in suits or exquisite skirt suits.
The limbs and skin that showed looked like those of normal humans.
But they all wore paper bags on their heads, with faces drawn on the front of the bags.
Each face was painted with different pigments, brushes, and techniques; some were simple doodles, while others were classic oil paintings.
And unsurprisingly, the more intricately drawn the faces were, the better the person’s clothes, with some even wearing gold watches or jewelry.
As Liu Zheng approached the main entrance, they all turned to give him scrutinizing looks.
That’s right, these drawn faces could move, even more flexibly than actual facial features.
"What are you looking at?"
He stared fiercely right back at them.
To deal with the people of this bizarre world, one must be like the African hyena.
Bite if you’re strong, run if you’re not.
You can’t be too rash, nor too timid.
Just like now, as Liu Zheng looked at them with a fierce glare and even balled up his tentacles ready to fight, these white-collars immediately shifted their gaze away.
"Pfft, little bourgeois trash."
He spat on the ground disdainfully.
However, Liu Zheng also noticed something interesting.
It seemed that they were not looking at him, but at his delivery box.
What, haven’t you all had breakfast?
Liu Zheng was a bit puzzled but didn’t dwell on it.
Just as he was about to enter the office building, a woman with a red armband stopped him.
By her attire, she appeared to be a cleaner.
The face she wore was sketched in pencil, looking quite refined, probably not over thirty.
"Spitting on the ground, that’s a hundred-dollar fine."
She extended her hand, saying expressionlessly.
"I didn’t spit inside the building."
Of course, Liu Zheng wasn’t just going to give her the money.
His money wasn’t blown in by the wind.
"It’s not allowed outside either, all the way to the curb falls within the area of responsibility."
The cleaner adamantly said.
"Where did that rule come from?"
"It’s the property management’s rule."
"You’re using the property’s rule to control a delivery guy?"
Liu Zheng was somewhat speechless.
"Then lend me a mop, and I will clean it up, that should be okay, right?"
"No."
The cleaner flatly refused his suggestion.
"Alright, alright."
Liu Zheng, with no other choice, reluctantly pulled out a hundred and handed it to her.
Although he felt this was not a must-pay fine, having money on hand, there was no need to take risks.
"Additionally, you are responsible for cleaning the entire area of responsibility in front of the door."
The cleaner took the money but showed no sign of letting him off the hook.
"Are you serious?"
Liu Zheng looked around; this area was at least a thousand square meters.
Cleaning it up, he feared it would be dark by the time he finished.
"Yes, that’s also property management’s rule."
The cleaner nodded.
Liu Zheng now confirmed that she was just looking for trouble.
"Then I’ll give you another hundred to clean it for me."
He tried to resolve it peacefully once more.
"No."
The cleaner shook her head.
Just as Liu Zheng was astonished by her integrity, she spoke again.
"At least two thousand."
"Heh."
Liu Zheng scoffed.
Two thousand was enough to buy off the cleaner.
Since reasoning was futile, there was nothing more to say.
Just in case, he still made a phone call to Niu Ma.
"What’s up?"
Niu Ma’s voice sounded hurried, as if he was again doing sit-ups.
"The office building’s cleaner stopped me. Says spitting on the ground is a two-thousand-dollar fine."
Liu Zheng spoke straightforwardly.
"Then just give it to them," Niu Ma said nonchalantly.
"I could give it, but even after giving, would the problem be solved?"
he asked.
"No,"
Niu Ma’s response was equally succinct.
"Look inside the gate."
Liu Zheng did as told, and saw a person in a security guard’s uniform silently watching him.
"Is there a security guard watching you?"
Niu Ma asked.
"Yes."
"These property managers in office buildings are all the same, always trying to squeeze money out of us delivery guys. Even if you don’t spit, they’d find fault for entering the gate with your left foot first,"
Niu Ma explained.
"Isn’t this too targeted?"
Liu Zheng said speechlessly.
Compared to the property management of office buildings, the security guards in residential areas seemed downright upright and honest.
"It wasn’t always like this. There’s a rumor that all the city’s office building owners are the same person, and that person doesn’t get along with the current Bloody Restaurant."
Niu Ma shared.
Doesn’t get along with the current Bloody Restaurant...
Liu Zheng felt there was an implication here, and he quickly thought of an answer.
What’s different about the current Bloody Restaurant compared to the previous one? According to the intelligence he had, there was only one thing.
The restaurant owner had become Si Xue.
When the King of Hell quarrels, the little devils suffer.
He shook his head helplessly.
"It’s up to you. If you want to pay off the misfortune, it won’t be less than ten grand,"
"How did the other delivery drivers manage to make their deliveries before?"
Liu Zheng inquired.
"Why do you keep asking such idiotic questions? If they had made the delivery, would you still be able to get in?"
Niu Ma retorted.
His logic was so sound that Liu Zheng found himself at a loss for words.
"Then the turnover rate at the restaurant must be incredibly high,"
"That’s just how it is, otherwise, why do you think I’d flee? But even with that, so many people want in, yet can’t get in,"
"Even the staff meal you grumble about every day could cause a fire if taken outside,"
"See that tree? It’s better off than me, but what does it eat and drink every day? If it weren’t hoping you’d scrounge food from the restaurant for it, would it indulge you so much, even letting you take advantage of it?"
Niu Ma said with a sneer.
Liu Zheng thought about it, and indeed,
when they first met, even his urine was coveted by the French Plane Tree.
With this thought, he suddenly had an inspiration.
"Thanks, boss,"
Liu Zheng politely hung up the phone.
"I definitely won’t give the money,"
he said to the cleaner.
"Then, according to the rules, I will have to beat you to death,"
The cleaner’s painted face immediately showed an angry expression, and her forehead even sprouted three little flames.
Her cleaner’s uniform instantly ballooned, her upper body becoming larger than that of a bodybuilding champion.
Especially her deltoids, which would’ve been impossible to develop without consuming two truckloads of protein powder.
"Holy shit!"
Liu Zheng was shocked.
With that strength, why be a cleaner? Wouldn’t competing in the Olympics be better?
"But I can offer you a cup of coffee, from Unlucky Coffee."
"Oh, no, two cups,"
he said, glancing at the security guard inside the gate.
Hearing Liu Zheng’s words, the cleaner hesitated.
She covertly glanced at the security guard who, with a barely perceptible nod, gave her the go-ahead.
"One iced Americano with medium orange flavoring, half sugar. One hot coconut latte, standard sugar,"
The cleaner’s anger subsided, replaced by a strange smile.
"No problem,"
Liu Zheng nodded.
"Unlucky Coffee is over there,"
The cleaner directed, as her exaggerated pectoral muscles receded.
"OK,"
he approached the side of the office building, a conspicuous sign catching his eye.
It was an upside-down deer head, blood continuously flowed from its severed neck, accumulating into a pool on the ground.
And yet the eyes of the deer head remained clear, pain mingled with clarity,
as it looked at Liu Zheng, shedding a single tear of black flames.
