Chapter 388 - 342 Niu Ma: Besides my wife, you are the first one to get money from me.
Chapter 388: Chapter 342 Niu Ma: Besides my wife, you are the first one to get money from me.
"???"
Liu Zheng was completely puzzled.
Why did things escalate to a fight suddenly? When did Niu Ma become so impulsive?
Wasn’t he always the type to bully the weak and fear the strong?
"Stop, stop, stop!"
Although he didn’t know why, Liu Zheng immediately called a halt.
"Boss, we’re here to make money, not to fight. Even if we fight, we should save our energy for later to deal with Red Pig."
He said to Niu Ma.
"If you don’t listen to me, then I won’t tell you about such good opportunities in the future."
Seeing that Niu Ma was still not convinced, he continued.
"Hmph."
Niu Ma’s face stiffened, then he turned his head away.
"And you too, Colonel. No matter what, Niu Ma is my boss; if you can’t show him respect, show some to me."
"It started the quarrel with you, so you don’t need to apologize. But I hope you won’t speak ill of it in front of me. The boss has helped me a lot, more than anyone else, or anything else."
"Whoever insults my boss is insulting me. You wouldn’t want me to order a delivery to Red Ghost and rent your car again, would you?"
Liu Zheng then turned to the driver.
To avoid attracting City Hall’s attention, he referred to Red Ghost as Red Ghost, but the driver should understand his meaning.
"If it hadn’t picked a fight first, I wouldn’t have bothered with it. Niu Ma, you’re really lucky to have so many genuine followers who treat you as a boss."
The driver’s tone seemed somewhat envious.
"Too bad, they all died at the hands of you bunch of... jerks."
Just as Niu Ma was about to retort, he glanced at Liu Zheng and held back.
"This world is like this, the strong dominate the weak, and the weak worship the strong. I wasn’t targeting your delivery guys specifically, just equally getting rid of all those who are weak."
The driver said.
"Hmph, so if you meet someone stronger, you should be eliminated too, right?"
Niu Ma retorted.
"Of course, haven’t I already been eliminated? Once I could command a fleet of armored vehicles across the plains, now I can only drive to deliver your orders, and I can only enjoy myself when you cooperate. It’s really sad when you think about it."
The driver sighed.
He was so friendly with Liu Zheng, partly because he had a debt of gratitude but also because he hoped Liu Zheng would stir up more trouble, letting him relive the thrill of war.
"Since it’s so sad, you might as well be dead. We are actually heading to the cemetery now, I could lend you a dollar to buy yourself a grave plot."
Niu Ma taunted.
"Alright, enough with the noise. If you keep arguing, I’ll change our destination to the Garbage Processing Plant or Chaos Club, dead or alive we’ll see!"
Liu Zheng shouted.
One was a department manager at Bloody Restaurant, the other a living legend from the same era as Red Ghost, and yet they quarreled like village grannies, even less creatively, an utter disgrace.
"Hmph!"
Niu Ma and the driver grunted simultaneously, turning their heads away from each other.
"Boss, get in the car!"
Liu Zheng urged.
"Fine, I’m coming. No need to rush me."
Niu Ma stepped into the sports car, his body instantly shrinking to match his size.
"Sigh!"
Liu Zheng sighed deeply.
Since he had established himself in Metropolis, he found himself dealing more with the relationships between people and non-humans rather than combat and adventure.
And this bunch was even more temperamental and troublesome than the last.
This wasn’t even walking a tightrope anymore; it was like twisting steel wires, and he was that piece of steel.
Liu Zheng wished he had a big red button at that moment, one that would make the whole world quiet down.
To hell with Bloody Restaurant, to hell with Metropolis, to hell with Hell’s Game.
In the muttering silence, the Bugatti Veyron quickly arrived at the entrance of the cemetery.
"Huh? What’s that?"
Liu Zheng immediately noticed something odd.
On the pillar of the archway, there was a red A4-sized paper posted.
He strained to see what was written, but all he could see was a blur of ink.
The car was parked just thirty meters from the archway, and with his current perception, he should be able to read even a post-it note clearly, let alone an A4 paper.
Liu Zheng knew, it must be intentionally made unclear by the person who posted it.
"Boss, can you see what’s written on it?"
He asked.
"I can’t see it clearly."
Niu Ma shook his head.
"Colonel, what about you?"
Liu Zheng asked again.
"It seems to be a notice, but I can’t make out the specifics."
The driver shook his head.
The driver could see a bit more than him and Niu Ma. Why was that?
"Boss, between you and the Colonel, who is stronger?"
He asked.
"Hmph, unless he pulls out his vehicle, I’ll tear his engine apart."
Niu Ma confidently stated.
"I’m a driver, why wouldn’t I use a vehicle? Why don’t you remove your horns before fighting me?"
The driver retorted.
"Enough, enough, stop arguing. You both are stronger than I am, okay?"
Seeing that they were about to start fighting again, Liu Zheng hurriedly intervened.
"Nonsense!"
"Obviously!"
Niu Ma and the driver looked at him disdainfully.
"Damn it!"
He almost lost control and put on a cosplay suit to use the Legendary Underwear and then beat the crap out of both of them.
However, from the driver’s words, it was clear that in his current situation driving the sports car, he indeed was not as strong as Niu Ma.
The reason he saw more information was not because of strength but because of something else.
So, what was the difference between the driver and them?
Liu Zheng’s gaze swept over himself, over Niu Ma, and then over the driver’s semi-transparent body.
