Chapter 190: Can You Handle My Grip?
Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Can You Handle My Grip?
"What do you want to do?"
The elevator operator asked guardedly.
"What ill intentions could such a naive and innocent rookie deliveryman like me possibly have? I just want to deliver the takeout on time."
Liu Zheng gave her a smile that matched perfectly with naive and innocent.
The elevator operator subconsciously backed into the corner of the elevator.
"Hey, that’s a bit rude now. Come over here."
He wiped the smile off his face.
The elevator operator bit her lip, not daring to come closer.
"I told you to come here, didn’t you hear me? Or do you want your face hanging on the deer head at Unlucky Coffee?"
Liu Zheng pulled out a boning knife and gestured towards the elevator operator’s face, seemingly finding the best angle to skin it.
The elevator operator trembled as she walked over.
"That’s better."
He gently stroked the elevator operator’s hair, like soothing an injured kitten.
"If I threaten you like this, your leaders wouldn’t bother you anymore, would they?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Huh?"
The elevator operator looked at him as if staring at a real lunatic.
Liu Zheng calmly met her gaze, his eyes as clear as water.
"Not enough, need to see blood."
The elevator operator muttered softly.
"Okay, I’ll be careful with how far I go."
He nodded.
"Why do you want to go to the 11th floor?"
The elevator operator asked curiously.
Last time he had threatened her with pesticide to make her close the elevator doors.
"Remember how I threatened you with pesticide last time?"
Liu Zheng said.
"I remember."
"The pesticide is used up, I thought I’d return the empty bottle."
He said.
"You want to..."
The elevator operator covered her mouth.
"Wang Manni, that bitch, became a manager."
After a pause, she changed the subject.
"I know, I even plan to help her climb to a higher position."
Liu Zheng nodded.
"Actually, I can be your woman too."
The elevator operator puffed out her chest.
"Wang Manni is not my woman, I don’t have a woman."
He shook his head.
Only friends and partners.
The elevator operator’s chest fell in disappointment.
"There are many ways to collaborate, not necessarily up close and personal. Keep it up, I have high hopes for you."
Liu Zheng patted her shoulder and casually stuck the boning knife in, then pulled it out.
"Ah!"
The elevator operator let out a sharp scream.
"Up you go."
He spoke calmly.
The elevator operator gave him a resentful look and pressed the button for the 4th floor.
"Ding!"
The 4th floor arrived quickly, and the elevator doors opened automatically.
Liu Zheng confidently walked to room 403 and pushed the door open.
As he entered, a bunch of faces of different styles lifted from their workstations and looked at him in unison.
Their expressions varied, showing fear, disgust, hatred, and anticipation.
"Why are you all staring at me? Get back to work. Otherwise, I’ll have Manager Wang dock your pay."
Liu Zheng said nonchalantly.
After a smattering of boos, everyone pretended to get busy again.
"Wait, I’ve got an announcement to make."
He shouted again.
The faces lifted once more.
"Later, Unlucky Coffee is delivering takeout, one coffee and one dessert per person, it’s a treat from your Manager Wang."
Liu Zheng said.
"Oh yeah!"
The crowd cheered.
"Long live Manager Wang!"
The savvy ones started shouting.
"Alright, back to work now. Hey you, tell me how to get to the manager’s office."
He casually pointed at a busty female employee.
"I’ll take you there."
The busty female employee quickly stood up, eagerly leading the way.
"Good, you have potential, I’ll have your Manager Wang train you well."
Liu Zheng said with satisfaction.
"Thank you so much. The floor was just mopped and it’s a bit slippery, let me support you."
The busty female employee threw him a coquettish glance and pressed herself against him, rubbing vigorously.
Witnessing this, employees regardless of gender, reluctantly glanced at their own chests.
"That’s enough, you can go back now."
At the door of the manager’s office, Liu Zheng told the busty female employee.
"Should I accompany you inside?"
The busty female employee seemed reluctant to leave.
"Do you want to be penalized?"
He countered.
"Ah?"
The busty female employee wasn’t foolish and reacted after a moment, her face turning pale.
"Got it? Now go back to work."
Liu Zheng said.
"Mmm, you’re a good man."
The busty female employee gave him a grateful look, then hurriedly walked to her workstation.
Liu Zheng had a strange expression on his face.
Getting a good guy card in Metropolis felt almost like being singled out by the King of Hell.
He shook his head, pushed open the manager’s office door and entered.
Wang Manni was still posing by the floor-to-ceiling windows, but this time not admiring the concrete jungle, rather closing her eyes to feel the sunshine.
"Who is this disrespectful, not knowing to knock before coming in?"
She turned around frowning upon hearing the sound.
Then, she saw Liu Zheng leaning on the doorframe with tentacles in his arms.
"Oh, it’s you who has come. Please, have a seat, I’ll make you some tea."
Wang Manni smiled sweetly.
A smile framed by crimson irises, strangely beautiful.
If one could ignore her increasingly grotesque insect limbs.
"No need to bother, I have quite a bit to do; I’ll leave after making the delivery."
Liu Zheng waved his tentacles, closed the door, and then walked over to Wang Manni’s desk.
"Alright, then I’ll sign for it now."
She hurriedly said.
"No need to rush. I still have a few things to ask you."
Liu Zheng, while speaking, was sizing up the manager’s office.
It’s just so-so, merely twice the size of the break room and ten times better in decor.
Niu Ma really needs to reflect deeply on this, being one of the three major departments of Bloody Restaurant, how could the facilities be so poor?
"Let’s discuss this over tea."
Wang Manni immediately seized the opportunity.
"Alright then."
Liu Zheng nodded and sat down on the sofa.
Wang Manni quickly took a small canister from the safe, then fetched a celadon teacup and brewed him a cup of tea.
"Manager Wang doesn’t like tea, and I’ve just taken over the position and haven’t had the time to add more tea sets. Please don’t mind."
She apologized.
"No problem, I’m a peasant dog who can’t appreciate fine tea."
He took the teacup and the item description immediately popped up.
"Name: Secret Formula Small Can Tea (Disposable)"
"Type: Prop"
"Quality: Excellent"
"Effect: Constitution +1, no effect on repeated drinking."
"Note: Exquisitely crafted by eight masters, you’d be fooled and taken advantage of."
"Can it be taken out of the instance: No"
Liu Zheng took a sip and it tasted just like the ten-dollar tea bags from reality.
But given that it boosts attributes, it is the best tea in the world.
"If you like it, I’ll give you this can."
Wang Manni observed and suggested.
"No need, one cup is enough."
He decisively refused.
If it cannot add attributes repeatedly, why bother?
"Okay."
Wang Manni felt a bit regretful yet relieved.
Having just become a manager, she was short on resources.
This can of tea was also a very rare item for hosting guests.
"Let’s get to the main point. What’s going on with the 11th floor?"
Liu Zheng asked.
Hearing his question, Wang Manni was startled, then looked toward the door and only relaxed after confirming it was closed.
"The 11th floor... Why are you inquiring about that place?"
She asked.
"I have a friend who was transferred there as a waitress, and I want to visit her."
Liu Zheng said.
"The friend you mentioned, isn’t she the one who sent you the insecticide last time?"
"You’re smart, yes, it’s her."
He nodded.
"The 11th floor is not open to the public, and even if I wanted to, I couldn’t take you in."
Wang Manni said with difficulty.
"You don’t need to take me; I have my own ways."
Liu Zheng shook his head.
Wang Manni was once again shocked by his capabilities.
To bring outsiders to the 11th floor, one must be at least at a vice-president level, right?
"Just tell me what the 11th floor is really about."
Liu Zheng said.
"The 11th floor is actually a place for management to relax, accessible to anyone at managerial positions or above, including company and property management."
"However, different ranks are allotted different access frequencies."
"As a manager like me, I can go there once a month at most."
Wang Manni explained.
"Then is this 11th floor run by the company, or by property management?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"It’s run by property management, but the company also has shares. So the waitresses there include both property and company employees."
"Of course, there are also some brought in from outside."
Wang Manni said.
"How many companies are there in this office building?"
"Just ours. Property management only provides services like the 11th floor in large company buildings otherwise the revenue is low and the risk is high."
Wang Manni said.
"What kind of services are offered inside?"
He asked.
"This... I haven’t been there before, but I’ve heard, it’s quite liberal."
Wang Manni hesitated before responding.
"How liberal?"
"The literal kind of liberal. You know, management is under a lot of stress."
Wang Manni said tactfully.
"Oh. Since you haven’t been there, then don’t go. That director of yours isn’t free either, right?"
"No, he’s been busy either with work or helping his child with homework."
Wang Manni replied.
"Good, keep it up."
"Does all of the management like going to the 11th floor to relax?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Yes, the president and others almost go there every day."
"They of that rank could go to better places, right?"
Like the private booths of Bloody Restaurant.
"One feels more secure using one’s own stuff."
Wang Manni said.
"Insightful. Come here."
He beckoned Wang Manni over.
She hurriedly stood in front of Liu Zheng.
"Crouch down."
He commanded.
Wang Manni pursed her lips and lifted her skirt to crouch down.
"If, and I’m just saying if."
Liu Zheng wrapped his arms around Wang Manni, his four tentacles each playing with one of her four insect limbs.
"If all of your company’s management died, could you seize the opportunity?"
He whispered into Wang Manni’s ear as he bit it.
Wang Manni’s eyes widened, and her crimson iris flowers trembled as if swept by a fierce wind.
"I’m not sure, but I want to try."
A moment later, her gaze became gradually more resolute.
"Very good, you’re just as I expected."
Liu Zheng fiercely tapped her chest, then suddenly stood up.
"Then, in place of a toast, I wish you endless prospects."
Without tea, he directly dumped the tea leaves into his mouth, chewed them up, then slammed the teacup onto the floor.
The sound of the porcelain shattering was just followed by a dull thud.
Liu Zheng slammed his body forward, plunging the boning knife deep into Wang Manni’s abdomen, and continued pushing her to burst through the office door and into the office suite.
"Goodbye, President Wang."
He whispered softly, then pulled out the boning knife and tossed the takeout box onto Wang Manni’s face.
"Take note, not signing for Bloody Restaurant’s delivery could have consequences like these."
Liu Zheng shouted to the people around, then left room 403 without looking back.
He left behind a crowd exchanging bewildered looks and the body of Wang Manni lying on the floor.
The crimson iris appeared even more vivid than before.
