The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human? -
Chapter 129: I Suspect You’ve Been Snacking in the Bathroom
Chapter 129: Chapter 129: I Suspect You’ve Been Snacking in the Bathroom
The Witch stared at Liu Zheng without saying a word.
Great, he had to guess for himself again.
"You want me to play more tabletop games?"
Liu Zheng asked tentatively.
Crack!
A lightning bolt struck him right in the forehead.
His seaweed-like hair stood on end from the electricity, swaying as though he were underwater.
It seemed he had guessed wrong.
"Then do you want me to buy you another cup of Unlucky Coffee?"
He asked again.
Crack!
Another bolt of lightning.
This time, his seaweed hair was finally scorched.
Liu Zheng was also confused; there were only these two things he did with the Witch.
Could it be...
"You want me to buy you a cup of Unlucky Coffee and to play tabletop games as well?"
He ventured another guess.
As soon as he finished asking, Liu Zheng swiftly raised his tentacles to protect his head; he couldn’t take another blow like that, or he’d really be numb.
Fortunately, there was no lightning this time.
It seemed he had guessed right, but Liu Zheng didn’t feel happy at all.
"Sigh~"
He sighed.
"Witch, I’ll go buy your Unlucky Coffee now, but I really don’t have time for tabletop games this time."
"If you need me to, order a takeaway with a longer time limit, and I’ll come to play then, okay?"
Liu Zheng said.
The bronze in the Witch’s eyeballs gradually faded away, and her purple eyes, flickering with tiny sparks of electricity, fixed on him.
His head hung slightly, but his gaze was steadfastly locked with the Witch’s.
He was betting that the Witch wouldn’t kill him just because he refused to play tabletop games.
Indeed, the Witch couldn’t kill him for that, but that didn’t mean he could escape punishment altogether.
Seven or eight lightning whips emerged from thin air and lashed together onto Liu Zheng’s buttocks.
The crackling sound was incessant, and wisps of smoke rose from his lower half.
The damage wasn’t significant; it was more about humiliation.
But Liu Zheng was so used to being humiliated that he didn’t care about it anymore.
Since the Witch had spanked him, Liu Zheng took it as a yes.
He changed direction and rushed to a nearby office building at top speed, purchasing a bunch of coffees and desserts.
He kept a few for himself, and the rest he still had Unlucky Coffee deliver to the restaurant.
Liu Zheng even specifically called Niu Ma, telling it to deliver two of the servings to Britain and Big White Goose.
Niu Ma was reluctant, asking if he was throwing money around because he had too much to spend, or if he was considering a career change to customer service.
It took some persuasion to finally convince Niu Ma.
"Sigh, these quirky residents, not a single one gives me any peace."
Liu Zheng sighed and hurried back to the board game cafe with the remaining coffee and desserts.
"Witch, your coffee has arrived."
He lifted the bag toward the Witch’s statue.
The next second, the entire bag floated up to the roof.
"Hey, there’s stuff in there for other people too."
Liu Zheng had just shouted out when the sound of thunder filled the air.
"But they don’t deserve it, so it’s all yours."
He said sincerely.
"Hmph!"
A foot made of lightning kicked Liu Zheng’s buttocks, sending him rolling into the board game cafe.
"That’s quite an entrance you’ve made there."
Looking at Liu Zheng sprawled on the ground, Vampire Sister teased.
"Well said, but don’t praise me next time."
He got up, his expression unchanged as he spoke.
"So why did you come in like this?"
Vampire Sister asked curiously.
"I was kicked in by your poster girl."
"Poster girl? Oh, you mean the boss."
Vampire Sister suddenly realized.
"The boss usually doesn’t move; how did you manage to annoy her?"
She asked with confusion.
"Probably because I have a punchable face; everyone wants to come over and kick me."
Liu Zheng resorted to self-deprecation.
"Tsk. Did you have some evil thoughts again?"
Vampire Sister looked at him suspiciously.
"Spend less time sucking on that dirty blood and see what that has done to your brain."
Liu Zheng patted her shoulder.
"Pfft, as if you humans aren’t the most corrupted race."
Vampire Sister retorted.
"You haven’t been a vampire as long as you were human, so stop acting like a moralist. By the way, where’s the sea girl?"
He asked.
"She took a book with her; she’ll be back in about two hours. Are you going to wait for her?"
"No need, I was just asking casually."
Liu Zheng shook his head.
His dad was being hunted down, his mom’s life or death was uncertain, his girlfriend was taken away for investigation, and he still had to punch in for work; talk about a surreal version of human misery.
"Hmph! Jerk."
Vampire Sister glared at him.
"You use too many onomatopoeia. Hurry up, where are we going to talk?"
"Follow me."
Vampire Sister led him to an area behind the counter.
"Unless I’m mistaken, this appears to be the women’s restroom, right?"
Liu Zheng said, noticing the dress symbol on the door.
"It’s a single-stall anyway, what are you afraid of? Get in there, quick."
Vampire Sister opened the restroom door and pushed him inside.
In the confined space, the combined scents of air fresheners, perfume, and various cosmetics wafted through the air.
Besides, Liu Zheng could smell a faint scent of blood.
He looked at Vampire Sister with a strange expression.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Vampire Sister asked, puzzled, and then her face turned red as something seemed to dawn on her.
"I’m not that kind of easy girl, if you want those roleplays with me, you’ll have to marry me first."
She said softly, looking down.
"Don’t flatter yourself; I was just wondering if you were snacking in the toilet."
Liu Zheng said.
"Ew, you’re so gross."
Vampire Sister scrunched her face and then blushed even more.
"It’s because I have my period."
"Then why don’t you recycle it?"
"Recycle my ass! I’m not that poor."
Vampire Sister jumped in anger.
"Besides, I’m about to become rich. Hurry, hurry, tell me Blood Father’s password."
"The password is Blood Father’s birthday, plus the first six decimal places of Pi."
Liu Zheng said.
"Such an uncreative password, definitely that old guy’s style."
Vampire Sister nodded.
"All right, I’ve told you the password, now sign for the delivery."
He took out the mashed potatoes and said.
"Don’t rush me, I dare not open the safety deposit box alone, you have to come with me."
Vampire Sister said.
"What, is there a bomb in the safety deposit box?"
"There’s no bomb inside the safety deposit box, but there sure is one outside. My blood relatives must be nearby, waiting."
Vampire Sister said.
"Big sister, I’m just a human, if you can’t even beat them, how do you expect me to help you handle those blood relatives?"
Liu Zheng’s face was a picture of stunned horror.
"You’re not thinking of using me to draw their fire, are you?"
He felt he saw through the truth.
"That’s part of the plan."
Vampire Sister admitted frankly.
With Liu Zheng’s recovery ability, which could be called immortal, not using him as a target would be a complete waste.
"No way."
Liu Zheng was just as straightforward in his refusal.
He was about to earn a huge pile of gold coins from Nightingale; there was no need to take such a big risk.
"Please, if you help me out, I can play out a little drama with you right now."
Vampire Sister said in a wheedling tone, with her collar open.
"Didn’t you just say that you wanted to marry me first?"
Liu Zheng said with a vacant look.
"Yeah, marrying you is also for the property. As long as you help me get it, I don’t need to marry."
Vampire Sister said righteously.
"Then you’d better find someone willing to share your property. Sign for it quick, or I’ll turn my back on you."
He said with a stern face.
"Turn your back just like that, you really are a scumbag."
Vampire Sister was very dissatisfied, but still obediently took the mashed potatoes.
"I’m leaving."
Liu Zheng waved his hand, ready to leave the restroom.
"Are you really not going to help me?"
Vampire Sister said with a plaintive tone.
"Until it’s the end of the line, life is still more important than money."
His will was firm.
"There must be more than just money in the safety deposit box, maybe there’s something useful for you?"
Vampire Sister said, following his line of thought.
"Hmm... still no."
Liu Zheng was tempted for a moment, but still chose to refuse.
Seeing the Old Vampire could be captured for use as a dialysis machine and slave, there probably weren’t any powerful items there.
"Fine, then. Just let me know if you change your mind."
"Can’t you go by yourself or find someone else to help?"
He said helplessly.
"I’m afraid of death just as much as you are, and being caught by my blood relatives, the fate might be worse than death."
"And other people, I can’t trust."
Vampire Sister said.
"Okay, then let’s talk later."
"You must remember this, okay?"
Vampire Sister urged attentively.
"Yeah yeah, I’ll remember."
Liu Zheng’s attitude was perfunctory.
Just as he was about to pull open the restroom door, Vampire Sister hugged him from behind.
Two sharp fangs pierced his neck, and after a slight sting, there was a strange sensation of pleasure.
"What are you doing?"
Liu Zheng quietly grabbed the teeth grinding stick.
"Paying the reward in advance."
Vampire Sister withdrew her fangs, panting.
He turned to look, and Vampire Sister was sweating profusely, her face utterly devoid of color, as pale as a sheet of paper.
"I’ve injected my Life Essence into you, don’t worry, it won’t turn you into a vampire," she explained.
"What’s that for?"
"When you need it, just call my name, and the Life Essence will burn, temporarily enhancing your strength to about the same level as mine."
Vampire Sister said.
"How strong are you?"
Liu Zheng asked with interest.
"Hmph, if it weren’t for the store rules protecting you, ten of you wouldn’t be enough for me to beat."
Vampire Sister was still angry at remembering her humiliation by him.
And the slight pleasure.
"Impressive."
Liu Zheng couldn’t help laughing.
With the boost from the Legendary Armor, he could just about spar with the neighborhood security guard.
If Vampire Sister could beat ten of him, then surely her strength must be greater than the neighborhood security guard’s, but definitely not as great as the big bosses like Niu Ma or Napoleon, and probably not on par with elites like the Sea Witch or Nightingale.
"Could you beat the office building’s security guards?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Haven’t fought them, but it should be close," Vampire Sister said after thinking.
"Not bad, not bad," he nodded in satisfaction.
Her brute strength was about on par with office building security. Add in the real damage of the Legendary Armor, as long as he wasn’t dealing with top-tier places like the luxury estates or Emperor’s Garden, he should be able to breeze through.
"How long does the effect last?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"About three minutes or so," was the answer.
Good, three minutes is plenty of time to solve many problems.
"But I really don’t have time to help you loot your Blood Father’s Gold Coins," he said seriously.
"That’s okay, just consider it a loan to you, without interest," Vampire Sister said, turning away.
"All right then," Liu Zheng gave in.
Leaving the restroom, Vampire Sister went back to work, and he left the board game cafe.
On the way back, he couldn’t quite settle his mind.
Not until he reached the entrance of the delivery hallway did Liu Zheng finally come to his senses.
"Damn it!"
He was always the one charming others, and this time he was the one charmed.
Embarrassing, so embarrassing.
But it felt kind of nice, too.
Liu Zheng shook his head and entered the hallway.
Just a few steps in, his phone rang.
He took out his phone and looked at the caller ID.
It was the Novelist.
