Chapter 105: Can I Lick Your Feet Without Brushing My Teeth?
Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Can I Lick Your Feet Without Brushing My Teeth?
"...I suddenly feel that delivering takeout isn’t so bad after all."
Liu Zheng struggled to say.
Compared to the big boss of the Bloody Restaurant, cannibalistic security guards, customers who chop people up, and water trucks that charge at you, suddenly feel friendly.
"I think so too, but you don’t have a choice."
"Hurry up and go, if you’re late and the boss gets angry, I can’t save you."
Niu Ma walked towards the door.
"Damn!"
Liu Zheng followed behind, feeling utterly despondent.
"Actually, it might not be a bad thing, if the boss really wanted to deal with you, would she need to see you in person? She could easily send someone to handle you."
Niu Ma said, trying to offer some comfort.
"Thanks, but I don’t feel comforted at all."
It was possible that Si Xue wanted to see him for a good reason, but with his current luck, a good thing could very well turn bad in an instant.
Niu Ma was about to open the door when Ghost Hand crawled in through a movable wooden panel.
It seemed to know about Liu Zheng’s situation and directly placed the delivery order on Niu Ma’s hoof.
"Your luck..."
Niu Ma shook his head and walked out with the delivery order in his mouth.
"It’s a trap within a trap."
Liu Zheng sighed.
Now he was left without even a bodyguard.
Liu Zheng looked at Ghost Hand; although its strength might be greater than Niu Ma’s, it was too mysterious and much less reliable than Niu Ma.
Ghost Hand gestured him to follow and then squeezed out through the movable wooden panel.
Liu Zheng left the break room reluctantly, and Niu Ma had indeed already gone.
This time, Ghost Hand did not lead him through the delivery passage; instead, they arrived at a three-way intersection.
Continuing down the road to the customer service department for a bit, they came across an elevator.
Ghost Hand jumped forcefully, reaching the up button.
The golden liquid splattered from an X-shaped wound, burning a deep, bottomless pit in the ground.
The elevator door opened quickly, and Ghost Hand, with Liu Zheng following, entered one after the other.
There were no floor buttons inside the elevator; it operated automatically.
After ascending for a good four or five minutes, the elevator finally stopped.
The elevator doors opened to reveal a vast cavern.
Under the dome covered with calcified sediment, there was a golden-red sea of lava.
And Si Xue was sitting on a platinum throne in the middle of the sea of fire, propping up her body on one side as she dozed off.
Upon hearing the elevator door open, she opened her eyes.
For an instant, Liu Zheng thought he saw a dense array of characters flashing through Si Xue’s eyes.
But without the boost of a vest, he could not see them clearly.
"Come here."
Si Xue’s voice sounded tired.
"Boss, where’s the path?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Everywhere you walk is a path."
Si Xue spoke indifferently.
"Okay then."
He tentatively took a half step into the sea of fire, and the lava where his hoof landed solidified immediately.
But although it solidified, the temperature didn’t drop at all.
The callus layer on his hooves constantly melted, and the few remaining hairs gave off the stench of burnt protein.
However, Ghost Hand, following Liu Zheng’s lead, seemed to feel nothing, only the color of the golden liquid from its wounds darkened a bit.
"Did I ask you to come over?"
Si Xue suddenly said.
"Uh."
Liu Zheng stood frozen in place, not knowing what to do.
As for Ghost Hand, it maintained the motion of walking forward, the veins bulging on the back of its hand, but it could no longer take another step forward.
"I don’t care what schemes you have for this human, but I’m the boss of the restaurant now, and you’ll have to follow my rules,"
"When I’m talking to an employee, I don’t need someone eavesdropping. Now, get out of my office,"
"Or, end up like them."
As Si Xue’s words fell, hundreds of Obsidian Pillars thunderously rose from the sea of fire.
Countless creatures and non-living objects were encased within the pillars.
Although all Obsidian Pillars were the same size, when Liu Zheng focused on any particular one, he could perceive the true size of the encased entity.
Some were as large as mountains, others as small as mosquitoes.
Liu Zheng’s pupils suddenly contracted.
Because he saw a Phoenix, a Phoenix adorned in a rainbow of colors.
Ghost Hand turned silently and walked past Liu Zheng.
He was now completely alone and without support.
However, Liu Zheng didn’t feel much discouragement.
Apart from himself, no one was reliable.
He had understood this from a very young age.
He continued to move forward, wading through the Lava Boulevard.
By the time Liu Zheng reached Si Xue, he had shrunk to the size of a palm.
In just a few more seconds, he would have been completely incinerated.
However, Si Xue didn’t seem to have any plans to rehire, as a golden chair rose from the lava, lifting Liu Zheng up.
Soon after, a golden round table also emerged, adorned with tea sets, pastries, and even two servings of ice cream.
"Eat,"
Si Xue commanded.
Since the boss had spoken, Liu Zheng did not hold back.
He climbed onto the table, nibbling a few bites of cake and taking a few sips of tea.
Then he climbed onto the box containing the ice cream, hugging a spoon and treating himself to a big bite.
All the food came without item descriptions, but Liu Zheng didn’t care anymore.
Better to die a gluttonous ghost than to die hungry.
"Hiss!"
Liu Zheng gasped from the coldness.
But soon, his body began to swiftly expand.
He hurriedly jumped back onto the chair, returning to his original size amid the intense itch of flesh reconstituting.
"That’s enough, eat any more and you’ll burst."
Seeing Liu Zheng still eager to try more, Si Xue spoke up to stop him.
"Okay."
He felt a little regretful, but obedient.
"How long have you been employed here?"
Si Xue took a sip of her tea.
"The fourth day, I think?"
Liu Zheng replied.
"The fourth day, judging by the commotions you’ve caused, I thought you’d been here for four years."
Si Xue said leisurely.
"Ah heh heh."
Unsure whether her words were praise or criticism, he could only awkwardly scratch his seaweed hair.
Honestly, Liu Zheng also felt like he was doing too many things every day.
Besides delivering food, his range of duties also included novel writing, biological evolution, promotion and pay increases, ingredient procurement, pet-walking services, family disputes, headhunting recruitment, negotiation expertise...
Damn, he could start his own General Services business.
"You’ve caused quite a stir outside under the restaurant’s name, and the old lady is happy about that. But colluding with outsiders to steal from the restaurant, the old lady dislikes."
Si Xue extended her hand, and the Heart of the Ocean automatically flew from Liu Zheng’s neck into her hand.
"Wait, boss,"
he called out.
"What, you don’t accept the punishment?"
Si Xue glanced at him.
"I accept it. But I promised the mermaid I’d send her child’s soul back to the sea. Could you give me the little mermaid’s soul?"
Liu Zheng said earnestly.
"What gives you the right to make demands of me?"
Si Xue said with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.
"So it’s not a demand, it’s a plea."
He spoke humbly.
"I heard you have ’Anger Management’; when you go mad, nobody’s word is of any use, not even Oynk’s. And you dared to jest with him. Why so timid now?"
Si Xue teased.
"Because you are my boss,"
"Just because of that?"
"And also because I indeed did something wrong."
Liu Zheng said candidly.
Even though he did not agree with the morals of the Bloody Restaurant, he was indeed eating its food.
When it’s time to cause trouble, do so; and when caught, stand straight and take the punishment.
"Last time you caused Mr. Li that bitch to explode into pieces and then created a huge commotion in the office building, even killing one of their managers. The old lady was quite pleased, and I was thinking of rewarding you."
"Now, with your merits offsetting your faults, you’ve saved your own life. What price can you pay to get the little mermaid’s soul back?"
Si Xue changed her posture, lying directly on the platinum throne.
Today, she was dressed in a high-slit cheongsam, which revealed her figure with her movements.
"Then boss, could you set a price?"
Liu Zheng asked tentatively.
"Set a price? Hahaha!!!"
Si Xue laughed unrestrainedly.
Ever since she became the boss of the Bloody Restaurant, no one dared ask her to set a price.
"Then, lick it clean for me,"
she extended her fair right foot, placing it on the table.
From Liu Zheng’s angle, he was just a little shy of seeing the innermost sights.
"I haven’t brushed my teeth these past few days, it might not be so pleasant,"
he swallowed, suppressing the deep chill in his heart.
