The Werewolf's Vampire Mate -
Chapter 54: Ultimatum
Chapter 54: Ultimatum
Maddie.
"Are you guys really dating?" Caitlin asks.
It’s still a shock to me. The night he asked me to be his girlfriend was the best night of my ever so dry life. I knew I was going to get him to be mine but I didn’t think it would happen as fast as it did. This was all part of the plan but I didn’t think I would succeed so easily.
Alanis is such a gullible person; I still can’t believe he hasn’t seen right through me. He thinks this thing between us is real—yeah, I think he is a great guy and I genuinely want to get to know him more than I do now, it is nothing personal, I am sure we would have hit it off either way.
"Yes,"
Caitlin screams and I place both hands on my ears in an attempt to cover her loud cry "How did that happen? You’ve been obsessed with him for a while now."
Yeah, I have been obsessed.
She got that right.
"We’ve kinda been seeing each other for a while now. I guess I wore him out and he just said fuck it."
Caitlin chuckles "So is being with him everything everyone says it is?"
I smile, memories of all our times together flooding in "Yes, it is." Alanis is a very passionate person, so being with him is very intense.
"I am so jealous," she hits me playfully.
We are in the cafeteria and I notice when he comes in, he is with his sister, I can’t really remember her name. His eyes roam around and my heart beats within the confinement of my chest. I am wondering if he will come over to me or sit with his family. He smiles when he sets his eyes on me. I can see it in his eyes, things are different between us. Before it was just sex, now that we have established more, he is different. It’s in his eyes, the wanting, the excitement and I am loving every minute of it.
He moves closer and whispers into her ears, she frowns and walks over to her seat. Alanis walks over in my direction with his tray gripped tightly. He is still smiling as he stops in front of me "Is this seat taken?" he points to an empty seat next to me.
Caitlin squeals and I roll my eyes at her reaction. "No," I answer him.
He sits down on the empty chair and my heart beats like crazy. He is taking a step further with me. Ever since we started this, we have been doing everything in secret. Now he is open about everything with me. I like it; I like it so much.
"Hi." he leans forward and kisses me softly.
Is this what it feels like to have a significant other, someone you can rely on? I don’t want to ever give this up. This will be my new normal. I want things between us to work.
I dive into the kiss and he welcomes me by wrapping his arms around my waist. "Do you want to come over after school?" I ask him.
Somehow it has become a ritual, him coming over but now the only thing different is him spending the night. My parents know about him, they have met him a couple of times and they have made their opinion open—they hate him. I am not even thinking about them in my decision to be with him. It is not about them; this is bigger than what they think.
This is my chance.
After the breakup.
Power.
I suddenly know what it feels like to have the power that I have desperately craved all my life. Lying down next to my saviour, I reach for him and plant a kiss on his right temple. He grabs me by my waist and pulls me closer. We are both naked, from earlier. I haven’t bothered with clothes; I feel more comfortable with this man than I ever have with anyone and I don’t even know his name. He is being very secretive but it just makes this all the more exciting.
I haven’t explored my abilities. I don’t know what suddenly makes me special but I have a feeling he will show me everything I need to know. It feels like he has made a claim on me.
"How do you feel?" he grabs me and places me on top of his roughly. There is nothing gentle about this man and it is exhilarating.
"I feel like I am on top of the world," I grab him by his neck and he welcomes me by slipping his tongue into my mouth for a wet kiss. I moan out from the pleasure that I get from just a kiss. Everything with him is a hundred times more intense than with Alanis. Suddenly I am not thinking about him and the heartbreak he smashed me with. I am glad he left me; I doubt he would have ever turned me if I stayed with him. The fact that I waited for a whole year and didn’t get anything from him is what hurts the most.
Mystery man’s tongue swirls in the depth of my mouth and I smile excitedly for what is to come. There is so much energy within me and I want it to burst out already "You will feel a lot better after we’re done," he smirks in between kisses.
A smile plays out because this is a challenge and challenge accepted.
*************
"You said I had to do something for you," I remind him of his ultimatum.
A smile crawls on his face, he is glad that I remembered. "I need Alanis." he goes straight to the point and this confuses me. I didn’t even know he knew Alanis. I mean I figured all the vampires in town would know each other. I didn’t expect him to though.
Frankly, I have never seen him around town before, so my assumption was he is just a passer-by.
"How do you know Alanis?"
"I don’t know him but I know that he is mixing with the wolves," he says it so casually.
Wolves?
"What do you mean by wolves?" I ask because things are getting a lot more unbelievable.
"Werewolves."
"You can’t be serious."
He laughs "You believed in vampires, what’s the difference?"
I sit up on the bed to process all this in, it is a lot. Finding out vampires aren’t the only mystical creatures.
"What does Alanis have to do with werewolves," I remember the starter of our conversation. Alanis mentioned there was someone else, that is why he broke it off with me. Could that someone else actually be a werewolf?
"He is the doorway to the wolves. I need him to get to them?"
I furrow my brows in confusion "What do you need from the wolves?" I have so many questions for him. Suddenly werewolves are real and he wants something from them. This all seems like a lot to handle.
"You don’t have to concern yourself with that. I just need to get Alanis and you are going to help me," it is not a request, the demand in his tone is firm and authoritative. He is not asking me; he is telling me and I don’t think I have a choice in this matter.
"How do I get him?"
He pulls me closer "He just needs to think you are hurt."
I laugh "I don’t think he cares anymore."
"He still cares about you; Alanis would’ve never called things off with you if not for the mutt. He had no choice."
I am still confused but I still hate Alanis and I am indebted to, shit. I realize I still don’t know his name. What do I even call him?
"What’s your name?"
He smiles warmly and I am still in his arms "Thought you’d never ask. You can call me Cass, short for Cassius."
Cassius.
Even his name is sexy.
"So, what do I have to do?" I ask him because the moment I agreed to drink his blood, I knew I would do anything for him. This man in front of me is my hero. I forever want to be by his side, no matter what he wants me to do. He lets go of me and stands up from the bed, his butt cheeks are bare—even his butt cheeks are sexy. I stand up and he grins as I walk into his arms. In just a day I have formed a bond with this man that the whole year I spent with Alanis. The fact that he wasted my time makes me so angry and I don’t even feel remorse for anything Cass will have me do.
"Do you explore your strengths?" he asks me with a smirk.
I nod eagerly and he chuckles "Get dressed."
I run to my clothes already excited.
Things just got so fun.
