Chapter 390: Lean on me

Chapter 390: Lean on me

Alanis

Beau walks out of the limousine and I follow him with so much excitement that it feels like my heart is about to explode. the pounding in my chest is not helping matters. I feel like my heart is at its own pace and not in a bad way. Beau has managed to surpass anything that I will ever be able to do.

Beau looks at me, and I see nothing but a warm smile. I feel like I’m in a dream. I can’t believe that I’m here, with Beau, and that we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together.

"I thought we were spending the night at the motel?’’ I ask him with a smirk. I know he knew how I felt about that place. there is no way he couldn’t tell that I didn’t want to have a staycation in that place. don’t get me wrong, I love the story behind the motel. I love that this is the place that started us.

"You know that place is not as bad as you are making it out to be,’’ he rolls his eyes and I can’t help but laugh.

I know he’s right, but I still don’t want to stay there. I would much rather be in a better hotel room, or even a suite. I know Beau is going to spoil me tonight and I can’t wait to see what he has planned.

I’m so glad that this night happened. It is all still so surreal to me, the wedding, all it took for him to make it happen. Beau is amazing and sometimes I feel like he is too good to be true. I look up and sure enough, we are at the Belview. this place is pricy. I don’t even know how he has been able to afford this. the Belview is known for its luxury and I can see why.

There is a doorman there to open the door for us and he happily smiles. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone more excited to be working at a hotel than he seems to be. I have been wondering how much he has spent.

I stop walking as we get inside and I can’t help but ogle the beauty in front of me. the Belview is beautiful. I can’t believe this is where we are staying.

"How can you afford this and everything else?’’ I ask him because I need to know. I haven’t helped with the finances. money has never been a problem for me. all the years that father has lived. he has gathered up a lot of priceless artifacts. things that he came across all over the world. the lands he bought all those years, they have all been passed down to all his children.

we don’t have to work as money has never been a problem.

"It is not a problem,’’ he shrugs. "I love you and that is all that matters to me. I want you to have the best.’’ he grabs my hands in his.

I raise a brow because I just need to know if he needs any help with this. I will gladly pay for our stay here.

"Are you sure?’’ I ask.

"Very,’’ he says, kissing the back of my hand. "You are my husband, I will take care of you.’’

I smile and kiss his lips softly. we are still in front of the entrance. one of the bellhops drags our bags and this gets me out of my trance. I turn to look at the entrance once more and then back at Beau. I have to admit that the entrance is beautiful. the chandelier is beautiful. the dining area is amazing. the hotel is gorgeous and I am glad that we are staying here.

"Thank you,’’ I manage as he leads me to the reception. one of the receptionists smiles at him.

"The penthouse is ready for you sir,’’ she mutters as she hands him the key card, almost like she knew who he was and was waiting. Beau has really outdone himself. I know this is not a competition but I don’t think I can top this day. I am curious to see our room. I want to see what Beau has done. I want to see how he has managed to make this place ours. he has done a lot of things to make this day special, the limo, the freaking wedding. I don’t think I need more than this from him.

"Come on,’’ he leads me up to the elevator, the Bellhop follows us behind. I look at my husband and smile. I know that this is the best day, the best night. I feel like I’m on top of the world.

We get to the penthouse and I look around the hallway. the walls are gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the living room and the bedrooms. I can’t believe we are staying here.

Beau opens the door and my eyes open wide at how grande the room is. "Fucking hell, this is beautiful,’’ I mutter.

once our bags are drooped in a corner of the room and the Beau has tipped the man, I turn to him with a serious expression.

"This is too much, I don’t like that you handled this all on your own,’’ I tell him deadpan. I want to enjoy this moment but I also want to feel like I was of help. does that make any sense?

instead of answering, he pulls me into his arms and kisses me. I melt in his arms but I don’t want to lose sight of what is on my mind right now.

"Let me pay for the rooms, I can afford it," I tell him with his arms still around my waist.

he frowns "I know you can afford this but I don’t want you to."

I furrow my brows "why not?’’

he sighs "Can I just do this for you?’’ he asks me.

"Where did you get the money to afford this?’’ I want to know. the moment I agreed to marry him, my money became his and vice versa. if this is a struggle for him, I want to ease the struggle. I want to help him.

I just wish he would accept my help.

there is hesitation in his eyes but I am pretty sure he knows that if he doesn’t tell me the truth, I will not let it slide. "My father left money for me. He also left me other things too. I have been selling them off slowly and that’s how I have been able to afford all this.’’

I just stare at him because I don’t know what to think.

"Will you ask me next time, if you need money? so you don’t have to sell things off?’’

we are equal partners in this relationship.

I want him to get used to leaning on me.
