"Your phone has been blowing up. who could be calling you?’’ I ask him, as I reach for it and pass it to him.

He collects the phone from me and his expression changes. It almost seems like he forgot something "Fuck,’’ he exclaims, jumping up and pulling away from me. he looks around the car and grabs his boxers from the floor "Shit,’’ he runs his hands through "It is already five. This is insane."

"What is wrong?’’ I ask him confused and worried at the same time.

He sighs "Nothing, get dressed." He tells me as I watch him put on his shirts and then his pants. he opens the car door and walks out of the car. I watch him pace back and forth outside with his phone in his ears.

He is trying to have a conversation with the person on the other end of the line. He doesn’t want me to hear but my hearing picks up on what he is saying.

"I am sorry, I lost track of time." He breathes through the phone as he paces back and forth to the empty parking lot. "I know. This lunch wasn’t part of the plan but he was suspicious and I didn’t want him to have a clue.’’ He sighs into the phone.

He is talking about me.

I already could tell that this couldn’t be the surprise that he planned.

"Yeah, we will be there in thirty. I am sorry Bells.’’ He adds. Okay, so he was on the phone with his best friend. yeah, he is trying to act smart, I already know that something is up. I watch him as he enters the car with a smile on his face.

He pulls out the sun visor and slides to see the mirror "Shit, I look a mess,’’ he whines. This gets a smile out of me.

"do you feel a mess?’’ I raise a brow.

He turns to me slowly and a cheeky smile falls on his face "You are being a bad boy right now,’’ he leans forward and kisses me softly. I melt into his mouth for the couple of seconds that he gives me. pulling away from me slowly, he sighs even louder "Come on, I want to take you somewhere,’’ he informs me.

I already know that whatever it is must be something he planned. I know that he has been absent since yesterday because he was planning something and even though I don’t know what it is, I am excited.

"where are we going?’’ I ask him even though the best thing for me to do right now is to just go with the flow and enjoy this moment.

He starts the car and I watch him as he drives out of the parking lot "So, I originally had a date planned for tonight but I could tell you were pissed with all the secrets and I just had to come for lunch. It wasn’t the plan,’’ he rambles with a smile.

"uh, okay."

"We missed our reservation and now there is no point, so I was thinking we could have a nightcap," he glances at me slowly.

"A nightcap sounds nice.’’

Even though I know that he planned something, I am excited about it. my heart is racing and my hands are trembling from the rush of this.

"Great,’’ he echoes as we get on to the busy road.
