I let go of them swiftly because now all I can think of is how the hell I am going to explain this to her. I have no words. Blue

Those are the kinds of things she will push down my head. Another reason why I never really wanted to stay in the coven. When I found out that there was a part of me that didn’t belong here. I didn’t hesitate to leave, it was easy for me to pack a bag and run along to find myself. I might have not known my father but I wanted to get to know him. I wanted an escape from this place and it led me to Gyles and Rex. So one thing is for sure.

We were fated to be together and I don’t want her to feed me with reasons why this is wrong and a mistake.

"Mother,’’ I call her.

There is a smile on her face, the kind that tells me this is all a joke to her. The fact that she caught me in this compromising situation must be funny to her. I can’t even imagine what she will say next.

"Who are they?’’ she points to them, still fucking smiling.

I take a deep breath because I don’t want to call them friends, I don’t want them to feel like I am not accepting of them. They are more than friends to me.

"They are my people,’’ I decide on that.

I mean, Gyles and Rex are my mates. She doesn’t believe in that. She doesn’t even want me to be a wolf. When I found out about Jules and this part of me, I remember her telling me that there was a way to shut it all off. That she had a spell to kill that part of me. Until now, I hate her for even suggesting that to me because I wanted to explore the Lycan in me badly.

Her smile widens as she looks at them. My eyes shift to Rex first and he manages a faint smile. He is telling me that everything will be alright and I believe him. I don’t have the strength to look at Gyles right now.

I know they are here and it has happened but I wish they didn’t come here. I was always going to return to them but now that they are here, I don’t know if it will be easy for them to leave.

"Oh, what does that mean?’’ she raises a brow, still fucking smiling.

Mothers’ smiles never mean what you might think they mean. A smile is an expression that someone has when they are pleased, happy, or amused. My mother is not happy right now. There is no part of her that is okay with the situation right now.

She never wanted me to leave in the first place. She hates Jules so much and she thinks his kind is a curse to the world. Being a wolf is an embarrassment to her and that is why she has tried to keep it from me and everyone else. No one in the community knows. I don’t think this is something she ever wants anyone to find out about.

So I don’t understand why she wants me back in the coven.

I think the best thing for the two of us is for me to leave.

Why won’t she let me leave?

I take a deep breath because she is still waiting for my answer. I have to explain his to her even though I don’t want to. "They are my people. Meaning, I am in a relationship with them.’’ I tell her with so much courage in the tone of my voice. She probably can sense that I am terrified right now. My hands are shaking. I don’t know what to expect.

"The two of them?’’

I nod.

"Can I have a word with you in private?’’ she raises a brow and doesn’t wait for me. Hurriedly, she walks out of my room and I turn to my mates with an apologetic expression on my face.

"I am so sorry about this. Wait for me here,’’ I leave them and walk out of the room to the hallway. Her back is against the wall and she seems to be in her head. This happens when she is about to cause a problem. I know she is going to make this a problem. There is no way she will accept this.

No way in hell.

"What the fuck Blue?’’ she scolds me immediately.

I take a deep breath because I need to thread this lightly "I can explain."

She shakes her head "There is no explanation that will get you out of this. I don’t understand where you got those guys from. You were supposed to be with your father. I only let you go because I knew he didn’t have any ties to the wolves in packs.’’

I furrow my brows in confusion "You didn’t let me go. I am not some child that needs your permission."

She is acting like I wouldn’t have been able to go without her permission. I left the coven on my own. I remember that time vividly because she begged me not to go and I might have told her that I needed space and I would be back, but I left on my own.

"I am your mother. I am the only one that has been by your side. How can you fucking betray me like this.’’ She shouts so loud, I am pretty sure that they can hear her in my room.

"How am I betraying you?’’ I ask her because I genuinely want to know.

"Those guys are wolves. You brought wolves into the coven.’’

I sigh because I could tell her that I didn’t bring them here. That they came on their own but I don’t want to do that. "They are leaving soon, you don’t have to worry about them,’’ I wave my hands in the air. I am trying to calm her down. Make her see that this is not as big a deal as she is making it all to be.

"Oh, you think it is that easy. I knew something was different with you. I knew you came back a different person and I will make sure I change that,’’ With that, she walks away from me with an angry glare.

I know that she is mostly all bark and no bite but for the first time, I see something in her eyes. A wave of anger that I wish she didn’t have towards this situation.

She might be serious this time.
