The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband
Chapter 95: He couldn’t hate her

Chapter 95: He couldn’t hate her

The balcony was quiet and chilly; Abrielle froze when Alfonso hugged her. What was he doing? The last thing she needed was an unnecessary misunderstanding. Her life was about to get shittier than it already was.

Her hand was pressed against his chest, and she tried to shove him off, but he felt like an impenetrable wall. Why was she physically weaker than all princes? This was annoying.

" Alfonso, let go of me; I don’t need a hug from you." She snapped at him, but he didn’t listen, she didn’t want to imagine what would happen if someone were to show up. Why was he not acting according to the plot? Or did the plot only heavily influence the main characters?

But he wasn’t a side character either as he did have relevance to the story. Sensing her hesitance he reluctantly let go. Abrielle immediately stepped back from him to give themselves some space.

"Please never hug me without short notice or don’t just do that. I am a married woman, what if Cedric suddenly shows up?" She snapped at him, her hands holding her dress as her eyes darted around the corner. If Cedric saw her hugging his brother, she was finished. He would label her a traitor to be hugging the people who want her dead.

"Why should he care? Is it not like he loves you or anything. To him, you are just a political tool and don’t care if you are hurt." Alfonso scoffed, and Abrielle’s hold on her dress layers tightened. She knew that she was just a political tool. That was how she envisioned the plot.

"Because my husband doesn’t love me is not an excuse to be in the arms of another. I still have some part of my dignity." Abrielle stated with a firm voice. She walked past Alfonso with her heels rapidly clicking on the marble floor.

"Where are you going? Back to the arms of the man who doesn’t care." He scoffed, his words and actions were confusing. It seemed like he was interested in her, but why would the Playboy prince have any interest in her?

"As you said, staying here would only make me look worse. I am going to make things right." Abrielle replied, then walked away, ignoring the fact Alfonso was trailing her behind.

On getting to the hallroom, the music was high and it seemed that the dance had already started. Her hands clutched her dress tightly as her eyes reluctantly glanced to the centre of the dance floor to spot Cedric and Callista dancing, just like in the plot. The sight of them together gave her a bitter-sweet feeling she didn’t understand.

"So what are you going to do?" Alfonso asked from behind her, it was like he was a little devil that would not let her be. Little whispers were going around about how the prince was sharing his first dance with a woman who wasn’t his wife.

From their stares, Abrielle understood what they meant, but she wasn’t pathetic to wallow in pity.

Cedric’s eyes catch sight of Abrielle when they return to the hall, with Alfonso following behind. His mood seemed to have darkened a bit in which Callista sensed it.

She pitifully bowed her head, "I am sorry you have to share the first dance with me instead of your wife," her sweet voice drew Cedric’s attention to her.

"It’s fine, it is the least I could do because of her actions." He replied, when he left the balcony, out in anger, he had run into Callista, who wanted to dance.

Unfortunately, Lucian was not interested in dancing with her since he didn’t have any interest in Callista. Cedric accepted out of pity to apologize for Abrielle’s actions. He was mad at that moment, and now he felt awkward, wondering if maybe he should not have left Abrielle and Alfonso together.

Who knows what they did in private? Maybe she even kissed him as Alfonso had won her over with his charms. The thought of that made him scoff remembering how she declared that she wasn’t least interested in Alfonso.

"I didn’t mean to cause a misunderstanding by wearing the same dress as the princess and now her night just got ruined. Maybe I should apologize to her." Callista said, and for some reason, she sounded pretentious to Cedric.

"Why do you want to apologize when she was the one that spilt wine on you?" Cedric sharply asked, as his eyes reluctantly left Abrielle, who was having a side conversation with Alfonso. Callista bit her lips trying to come up with words to say.

"It feels like the right thing to do," she muttered, which made Cedric smile, but his smile soon fell when his eyes went back to look at Abrielle’s direction. Callista bit her cheeks, feeling defeated. She had thought Cedric was interested in her from the way he looked at her earlier, but it might not be the truth.

The entire time, his mind was straying away as he had another in his mind. He just couldn’t take his eyes off Abrielle for too long. What was so good about Abrielle? She was just a seductress.

Callista, feeling something was strange about Cedric, followed his line of sight, and her face was drained of every colour. Lucian was asking Abrielle for a dance, and her grip on Cedric’s shoulder tightened.

Cedric had the urge right then to walk her way to pull her away, but that would be pathetic when he was dancing with another to apologize for her actions. She was busy flirting with his brothers because Alfonso seemed to be against the idea of Abrielle dancing with Lucian.

"She is just like the others, she is your nemesis, Cedric. Callista is the only pure soul that understands your suffering. Kill the villainess." That strange voice whispered in his ears, compelling him. Why did he keep on hearing the voices that wanted him to hate Abrielle?

"Do you hear any whispers?" Cedric asked Callista. "Not at all. Is anything wrong your highness?" She quickly answered. Cedric shook his head. So he was the only one hearing the voices; he knew the voices were true and he should hate his wife who wanted him dead like every other person, but why was it so hard to hate her?
