Abrielle might act impulsive and weak but she was doing the best she could. This world was turning into a mystery to her and she wondered if this was her book, it seemed familiar but was still different in a way.

The more she stayed with him, the more she realized how much of a challenge it might be to achieve her goal. Honestly, she did consider just being a good wife and hoping Cedric doesn’t kill her but that would not work.

It was uncertain how much the plot has control over the book and even if she didn’t act like a villainess in the book as a means to escape her death there was no assurance her dear husband would not kill her. Cedric patiently listened to her, he knew it was probably one of her schemes. "Even if I am going I won’t be joining the main event so the cold won’t bother me since I will be at camp socializing. Staying in the castle is boring." Abrielle explained.

Cedric sighed. "I will think about it," he knew attending the hunt wouldn’t be such a bad idea as a lot of nobles would be attending; it was also the best place to build connections. The problem was that he was still investigating the Khaos from his guess it was most likely the queen this time.

It was tiring when there were a lot of people that saw you as a threat but he had eventually grown numb to the feeling and only finds it exciting now.

Cedric’s answer wasn’t definite but she had to hold on to that even if the hunt failed she just had to think of other ways then while still thinking of a way to escape.

Escaping honestly seemed harder than killing him, Cedric could easily find her; her only bet was to flee the kingdom and seek asylum in another but which nation would protect the wife is the bloodlusted demon.

Abrielle still had a pending task and that was to find Sarah’s room to get her spell book before Cedric’s did but by now it was obvious that Cedric had already searched her room completely.

Since it was snowing heavily outside, Abrielle decided to visit the castle’s Library to investigate this world and spot all necessary oddities.

"Your Highness, the prince just sent word he would not be able to join you for lunch." A maid informed her, distracting from her line of thoughts.

She looked up to recognize it was the first maid that Cedric assigned to her. She was at least in her thirties and judging from this age of the novel setting was most likely a mother.

"Is he busy?" She enquired closing her notes before the maid could see what was written inside.

"Yes, he left the castle in the morning and hasn’t returned." The maid answered. That explains why she hasn’t seen him all day. She has been racking her brain on how to find Sarah’s room and this seemed like a perfect chance when Cedric was not around but she had no idea where to start from or any allies to rely on.

"What is your name?" She asked the maid who was puzzled why the princess was interested in her name but she answered regardless.

"It is Evelyn, Your Highness." The maid explained, Abrielle wracked her brains but there was indeed no character with that name in the entire book. Evelyn was a nameless extra character.

"I was wondering if it is possible to visit the maid’s quarters?" She asked, she had no choice but to use a straight-up approach to gather information. Sneaking around would only make her more suspicious.

"You can of course. You are the lady of the castle." Evenly answered quickly although confused why the princess was interested in visiting the maid’s quarters. She was scared that she would be dissatisfied with the maid.

"That will be great, I would like to visit Sarah’s room before lunch," Abrielle informed Evelyn, that if Cedric were to ask why she went to the maid’s quarters all she had to do was to lie it was to investigate Sarah. No one would take her seriously since she was a foolish lovestruck villainess.

"We can leave as soon as you are ready." Evelyn hesitantly said truly worried if there was an impending storm. Abrielle glanced at the book she was reading which was about monsters similar to Khaos associated with dark magic.

The more she learned about the Khaos in detail, more specific than what she had written, the more confused she was about Cedric’s strength.

It was impossible that he survived that battle and yet he.’ Who are you, Cedric Von Drakkar?’ she thought.

She picked up her little journal and got on her feet. "You can lead the way." It was time she started her quest.
