The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband -
Chapter 380: Planned Coincidence
Chapter 380: Planned Coincidence
Hazel eyes that look golden under sunlight, soft freckles and golden brown hair that almost looks blonde.
That was how Fiona Danbury was described; she had this gentle beauty suitable for a supporting character. The duchess was stunned to have heard her name, but in greater surprise to see the first prince’s consort, Princess Abrielle, waving at her.
"Were you expecting someone, my lady?" Her knight whispered into her ears. She shook her head because this was a surprise.
Fiona did not want to be rude so she returned the smile and walked towards the beaming princess. She has a good impression of Abrielle since her family helped her out of a difficult situation.
"Your highness, is it a pleasant surprise to see you here? What a coincidence." Fiona chimed in to Abrielle with a soft smile.
"It is truly a coincidence," Abrielle replied with the same smile, only that it wasn’t a coincidence. It was all planned. Abrielle knew Fiona loved visiting this tea house because it served snacks from her hometown. It reminded her of town and this was the place where Fiona met Callista
It was all planned for her to meet Fiona Danbury, an instrumental character in the original plot.
"That’s lovely I almost didn’t believe my eyes." Fiona chimed. Her knight was getting uncomfortable from the sharp glare Evelyn was giving him. It was weird that Abrielle didn’t go out with a knight but a maid instead. Only if they knew that Evelyn was stronger than all the knights under Cedric’s control except for Elias.
"Please can you have a seat?" The princess requested which Fiona could not reject. Her eyes sparkled seeing the scone Abrielle was having, it was the snack from her hometown.
"I had no idea the princess loved pastries from this tea house. It isn’t popular among the other noble ladies because of its price." Fiona chirped in getting more interested in Abrielle.
"I found out they are the only ones that served this. I fell in love with them during my honeymoon in Danbury." Evelyn’s brows twitched, hearing the lies Abrielle was spouting, but her expression was still serene.
Fiona’s eyes sparkled, her guard melted seeing Abrielle liked something she loved. "They are my absolute favourite. I found this place purely based on coincidence. I was heading to a jewellery shop when my nose picked up the aroma that reminded me of home." Fiona chimed. She quickly ordered herself some of the snacks and some tea.
Abrielle started talking about Danbury with Fiona, and Evelyn was surprised Abrielle even knew this much about Danbury when she spent a good part of her honeymoon in a coma.
"It was a shame the hunt got interrupted by that unfortunate incident. I was really looking forward to seeing who was going to be crowned the queen of the hunt." Fiona chimed, her gaze going to the cup of tea in her hand
"It was unfortunate how many lives were lost. By the way, has Duke Danbury been stationed at the border?" Abrielle asked, Rudeus Danbury was a general in the royal army. Although his influence was nothing compared to Eris Silverheart, Astrid’s husband, whose family were among the pillars of Darconia, with the second largest military strength, only second to the imperial family.
Fiona’s smile fell, "Rudeus was called to the scene immediately the infiltrations started. A border town was attacked; they had to force the intruders out." Fiona explained, she had been worried for her husband.
Her grip on her cup tightened slightly. She was expecting, but Rudeus had no idea of it. It was going to be their second child.
She remembered the last letter she had from Rudeus when he spoke of a suspected rebellion. There had to be an insider for the intruders to have been able to break the border defences.
"The blooms are pretty, do you mind us taking a stroll? I wanted to talk to you concerning some matters of the bedroom." It was a hint for them to have a private chat with each other because noble ladies could not talk about such matters in an open place.
Fiona’s cheeks went red, while Abrielle had a teasing smile. Abrielle was aware of Fiona’s pregnancy, she knew it was going to be a difficult one thanks to Ivana Darkhaven, her mother-in-law.
Ivana suspected the child to be a boy and planned on poisoning Fiona. The Poison didn’t kill her off, but made labour hard; in the end, the baby died. It was when Fiona was investigating the cause of the baby’s death that she suspected it wasn’t natural. She came across a piece of information that changed the tide of the war.
Evidence of the Darkhaven family being involved in a rebellion. Her child’s death and grief ended the war that took her husband away from her for months.
Fiona cleared her throat and then stood up. "The princess and I will be admiring the blossoms, Reggie." She informed her knight. Abrielle smiled then glanced at Evelyn’s narrowed eyes as if saying Don’t do anything stupid.
"I heard they have a lovely collection." Abrielle chimed. This tea house was actually in a greenhouse. Tables were arranged around exotic plants.
Abrielle and Fiona made their way into the garden while Evelyn and Reggie, the knight, stood at a distance, close enough to see them but far enough not to hear their discussion.
"Are you having issues with your husband? I know a couple of ways to get them excited." Fiona chimed with a smug look, ready to share secrets of the bedroom she learnt from her mother and experience.
Abrielle had a silly smile on her face; she didn’t need any tips unless something would make penetration easier. Why was that man so large? It wasn’t natural.
"He tends to bully me in bed." Abrielle sneered, thinking about that big, bad bully.
Fiona chuckled lightly she could already imagine. Her hand subconsciously rubbed her stomach which didn’t slip Abrielle’s eyes. If Fiona were truly pregnant, it means the chances of the Darkhaven family being the key behind this war have increased.
She was going to stop the way by speeding up the event without being involved, so that Cedric wouldn’t be suspicious of her.
