The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband
Chapter 33: Death is the only escape

Chapter 33: Death is the only escape

The horses stopped moving; Abrielle knew he was this kind of person, but his casually talking about his cruelty was something beyond her imagination, and the male lead of her book had to go against him.

Now she understood why she had so many anti-fans. Cedric watched her as her expression gradually changed showing her shock about everything. "It’s too death much for such a crime, she did it on my orders." Abrielle blurted. Sarah lost her life for a single stunt while all she had was eating stale bread and soup for three days and she dared to complain about it.

Cedric smiled at her, that smile struck terror in her. "You should know that I am more tolerant of you. You have more value alive than dead to me. A maid who defies her master’s order is completely useless and I see no need in keeping such a person still alive." Cedric shrugged and then continued walking.

Abrielle’s eyes were on his back, she was completely helpless. This battle seems like a lost cause. Why didn’t Thunder run faster for her to escape this psychopath? Why did she say yes at the altar? How was she going to kill him?

She had to act fast now he was unaware of her intentions, her thoughts ran completely oblivious to the fact Cedric was aware of her intentions. Cedric stopped moving, his eyes were cold as he looked ahead. " Why did you stop moving? There are animals more dangerous than I might be that roam these woods better not stray too far." Cedric mentioned then his horse started moving ahead.

He didn’t need to look behind to know her expression. Fear he could sense it from a mile away. Sad, isn’t it? The one time he thought maybe he could get someone as screwed as him that wouldn’t fear him and give him the same looks he had since birth.

They both messed up the marriage; she wanted him dead, which he could not accept and ended up showing her a glimpse of his true self. She should be afraid of him because he was worse than she could ever imagine.

He was not a saint; he already had enough blood on his hand, and there would be more. He hoped that she didn’t push him to the point of shedding her blood as they were both stuck in this cursed marriage. They say to keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Abrielle held on to the reins tightened and urged the horse to move forward. This was a fantasy world where humans were not the only threats to her life.

This encounter made her more scared of Cedric but made her realize something. She still had some worth in his eyes. It must not be as a lover or partner, but he needed her political support for the battle to get the throne.

Abrielle caught up with him and was riding by his side but there was this loud silence that echoed between them. She glanced at his side view; he was as confident as always with his gold mask on his face.

"Why do you always keep your face hidden?" She asked him to ease this strong tension that was between them. Oddly, Cedric’s face eased up at the thought she was interested in him and not just thinking about her next thought about killing him.

"That’s a bit personal; how about I ask a question and then, in return, answer yours." He replied with his tone as magnetic as ever.

Abrielle pondered at his words; their horse got out of the woods and seemed to have arrived at a river mouth. A beautiful deer was drinking at the river but ran off immediately. It sensed their presence.

Cedric got off his horse then approached Abrielle to help her off but she was too stubborn to accept his hand and wanted to do it herself.

To get off a horse this high was more difficult for her than to mount one, which made her wonder how the original Abrielle was a good rider but couldn’t get on and off a horse without assistance.

Cedric smiled at her attempts and pulled her off himself. She yelped when his arms circled her waist to pull her down. Before she knew it, he was carrying her in his arms before placing her on the floor. "It will not kill you to admit you need help," Cedric stated as a matter of fact.

"Thank you," Abrielle said, pulling her horse reins and bringing it closer to the river to drink. She was immediately marvelled by the crystal clear; even with the brown fallen leaves, it was a beautiful sight.

"The river is more beautiful to watch from the cliff but I guess you thought I wanted to push you off the cliff." Cedric’s voice said close to her ears, making her jolt as she realized he was standing directly behind her.

"You can’t blame me for that, your highness. We have been barely married for a week and you have threatened my life more than twice." Abrielle replied wondering if it was truly possible to see the river from the cliff.

"Well, I am not solely to be blamed for that; you attempted to run away from the wedding. That would have added to the rumours; they will probably say the first prince is so evil his bride ran away, plus you tried to fool me." Cedric explained as he watched her from behind, his hand itched to touch the ginger strands on her head which he did.

Her hair was soft to touch and a small smile Abrielle was not privileged to see made its way to his face.

"I had my reason," she replied, getting bolder to talk back. Maybe it was because she felt he wouldn’t kill her yet.

"You had your reasons; we all have our reasons for our actions. It depends on if it’s good enough. At times, I wonder what is going through the head of the woman I married, but there is one thing I would promise you I would never push you off a cliff." Cedric said and he felt her go stiff. His hand reached out to trace her face.

"If I want to kill you, I don’t have to push you off a cliff or backstab you. I prefer to attack from the front. Don’t ever think jumping off a cliff will help you escape from me either because one thing I know for sure is that I am a psycho who wouldn’t think twice about jumping after you." The more Abrielle got to know Cedric the more difficult it was for her to understand him.
