Chapter 184: Silent game 2

Abrielle and Cedric left the feast a bit early, Cedric was not fond of parties despite being rather charming when it came to interacting with people. He might be known as a tyrant but he did have the charms of a prince.

The main reason they had to retire early was because his little ginger wife was tipsy and it would be a shame for her to act up in public. Abrielle, being determined to Ignore Cedric, ended up drinking a bit too much.

The night quickly went by, and Abrielle had the room to herself that night. The wedding marked the end of the Winter prayer, and the next day, the royal family was preparing to head back to the capital.

Ophelia and Ryker were to leave for Galvai immediately for their honeymoon and some official procedures since their marriage was held in a rush outside of Galvai due to that reason Sapphire was meant to be left on Darconia to oversee the treaty process something the princess loved and Abrielle found troublesome because she would be seeing the princess much longer.

Abrielle woke up with a nasty hangover in the morning. Her head was spinning, but she had no choice but to get ready to move. After taking a bit of soup and medication, the side effects lessened, but she wasn’t feeling any better.

"Prince Cedric is already waiting for you in the carriage," Evelyn informed her. Abrielle sighed feeling depressed at the thought of the journey ahead.

"I guess it is time," she sighed again then made her way out of the room. An arc of the story was over, and by now, the female lead and male lead relationship should have made considerate growth, especially thanks to Callista’s heroic actions to save Queen Eleanor.

Something unexpected happened, which was a miscarriage and her power acting up, but thankfully, Alfonso kept his mouth shut about seeing her around the crime scene, so she was safe for now.

They made their way to the main entrance of the temple where several carriages were lined. Some noble families that had travelled to the temple for the winter prayer were already travelling down the mountain.

Something popped up in Abrielle’s mind; she had been so busy she forgot her fur ball. "Where is Yuki?" She asked the maids that were accompanying her stiffened. Evelyn and Zoltana were a bit hesitant to answer so the youngest in the group answered her. "We didn’t take Yuki along," Jubilee answered.

"Why?" Abrielle asked; they just exited the temple, and her eye darted around the crowd until it found her annoying husband, who was talking to her dear cousin Sebastian.

"The prince directed it," Jubilee answered. ’Cedric again!!!’ Abrielle thoughts screamed. She was glaring daggers at him which wasn’t very princessly of her to do.

Cedric seemed to have noticed the gaze that was boring into his skull and glanced in her direction. He had the most innocent smile that sparkled with his eyes. A true devil indeed hid evil behind a smile.

Abrielle took a long breath to calm herself before walking over, there was no need to be so walked up about him. She quickly fixed her glare to smile sweetly.

Sebastian noticed that Cedric was distracted; his gaze naturally followed in the direction of Cedric to see Abrielle, who was approaching them. She was completely covered in thick layers of coats.

"Good morning Abrielle," Sebastian chimed greeting his cousin. Abrielle smiled sweetly at Sebastian; she was still at war with Cedric, so she didn’t pay him much attention. "Good morning, Sebastian; I can see you are here to see me off." She replied to him.

"Yeah, I guess we will part for a while, please take care," Sebastian answered; he could sense the weird Atmosphere that hung between Abrielle and Cedric, but he ignored it.

"Yes, I will. " Abrielle said; she pulled Sebastian into a hug that startled him, of course. She wasn’t doing it because of her closeness with her cousin but because of her pettiness. "Also take care." She added.

They broke the hug; Sebastian was still startled by the hug, and worse, the air suddenly felt heavy to breathe with a cold presence around him. "I will; hopefully, by the next time we meet, there might be a little Abrielle," Sebastian said in goodwill which was not accepted in good fate by Abrielle.

This might be the last time they meet until towards the end of the plot if the story timeline doesn’t change. "That’s a funny joke, Sebastian," Abrielle laughed. There was not going to be a mini Abrielle or Cedric only a living woman can have children.

Sebastian nervously laughed finding the air getting heavier. "It’s good to see you are in good spirits. May the light of Nyxoria guide you." Sebastian wished her. Abrielle nodded, then turned to head to the carriage behind them, leaving Cedric there. She didn’t even spare a certain someone a word.

Evelyn helped her up the carriage where she settled down. Cedric’s lips were pursed into a thin line. This was getting exhausting. Did he indulge her too much or were his words too harsh? Everything he said was for their good, her well-being most importantly.

"Have a safe journey, Your Highness." Sebastian wished Cedric. His attention was called by other travellers who wanted a word with the priest. Cedric’s gaze lingered on Sebastian for a bit.

The door of the carriage was opened, and Abrielle didn’t bother checking who it was. Cedric sat by her side and the door was closed. "I guess I have turned to air now." He casually mentioned, feeling rather disturbed by her silence. His aura was so thick the carriage felt very small.

"I never knew you wanted to listen to me talk so badly," Abrielle muttered, Cedric’s eyes sparkled when he heard her voice. "Is the silence treatment over? I did miss your voice." Cedric asked; hearing her talk to him indeed changed his mood he was a bit soured.

"Talking to you is exhausting. I will appreciate it if you talk less that way, this journey would be more bearable." Abrielle scoffed at him.
