Chapter 139: Best wine

Yuki bravely stood in front of Abrielle in an attempt to save her from what he posed as danger. Cedric’s eyes narrowed at the cat. He didn’t say anything, but his gaze moved back to Abrielle, who didn’t need him to say a single word to understand what he meant.

"I am sorry he was still in here this late," she said quickly, grabbing Yuki from the floor and then sending him out. Yuki’s sad cries filled the hallway, but Abrielle had no choice but to close the door. Her poor baby was being bullied.

"It’s been a while; sorry about that. Yuki is just a clingy little animal." She nervously blurted, her eyes falling on Cedric. He was as dashing as ever, his dark hair was allowed to pour down scattered on his back.

Tonight, he decided to wear something different from his regular black shirts and chose a blue shirt in which some of the buttons were deliberately left undone to give Abrielle a peak of his toned muscles.

She nervously gulped, and her lower lip was being abused by her teeth. This was indeed the devil tempting her. Cedric was always gorgeous, but she didn’t know when he started to affect her this way.

"Yuki, so that’s its name," Cedric mentioned as he broke eye contact to walk towards the table, avoiding her intense gaze on him. Abrielle stood struck at the door, confused about what to do with the awkward atmosphere that filled the room.

Cedric sat down on a seat by the table and then pulled off his mask. His brows arched at Abrielle. "Are you going to stand there all night?" He asked her, causing her to jerk.

She stood upright, close to the door. She could still hear Yuki, but unfortunately, the cat was not her priority at the moment. "Sorry, my head was clouded." She blurted, trying to clear her head. She didn’t understand why she was so nervous tonight.

She was still stunned, he should not have had time. She got nervous about why he came so early. His calm expression made his intentions unreadable.

The sound of the red wine being poured into the glass echoed. Abrielle slowly dragged her legs towards him. Cedric glanced from the glass back to her. She wasn’t fidgeting or trembling, but her palms were sweaty and clamping as she clutched her dress to control her nervousness.

A soft smile tugged his lips, "There is no need to be so nervous; it’s not the first time we are sharing a bed. Maybe you should take a sip of wine." Cedric suggested trying to get rid of the stiff atmosphere, forcing himself to pry his eyes from her body.

He gulped down the entire glass that burned his throat and didn’t even spare a moment to savour the flavour or aroma. She didn’t need to put too much effort into messing with him as he tried to forget the image of her body that was barely covered by that lacy dress.

It was beautiful, and he clearly remembered what it looked like without a shred of coverage, and that made his member thicken in his slacks. How was he going to forget it when she stood in front of him?

Abrielle had a sad smile on her face as she saw Cedric clung down the entire glass, it must be torture for him to spend the night here when he had another in his heart. That thought gave her a bitter feeling. He poured another glass and was about to chunk it down, but his hand was stopped by Abrielle’s smaller hands

"You don’t have to get yourself drunk. I am perfectly okay with just spending the night silently. No one would know what happened behind these doors," she said, trying to stop him from getting drunk. She didn’t know why she had the urge to stop him, but she regretted it almost immediately when Cedric stunned her and yanked her forward with his other hand free hand.

The next thing she knew was being trapped by his arms, cradled in his arms as he made her sit on his lap with his face crooked in her neck. Her scent wasn’t the usual soft lavender but something drawing. "You change your perfume," Cedric mentioned, like he wasn’t affected by their current sitting position.

It was super uncomfortable sitting on his thighs while he clung to her body. His frame overshadowed her completely, emphasising how little she was before him and vulnerable. Her waist was so slender it felt like he could easily snap it. "I am glad you finally noticed," Abrielle could barely say, she swore she felt something poking her down and hoped it wasn’t what she thought

"Roses suit you better," Cedric commented; her former perfume was similar to Callista’s own. He didn’t like other women having the same scent as her.

Abrielle didn’t know if she could take it as a compliment or not, but there was a faint red tint on her cheeks that didn’t skip his attention. He reached out for the glass, taking a sip while his other hand still held her close like he wanted to merge her body with his.

Abrielle bit her cheeks, the atmosphere was getting more awkward. "We should just..." Her words were swallowed back down her throat when he stole her lips, forcing her to swallow the wine he still had in his mouth.

She was taken unaware and by the stunned kiss from sharing a drink with their lips. It turned into an intense kiss. He pulled her closer, his other hand crawling up her thighs under her dress, leaving faint sparks.

Her hands clutched his shirt as he completely consumed her, it wasn’t a hungry or intense kiss but something worth savouring like the wine. It was the best wine Cedric had ever had. He reluctantly parted with her lips, a streak of saliva falling between them. She was left breathless under his intense gaze.

"The wine reminds me of the first drink we had together. I could not help but want to share it with you." His hoarse voice said so close to her ears she felt faint tickles where his breath graced her skin with a weird fuzzy feeling in her stomach.
