The door was pushed open, and the ginger-haired princess walked into a room that looked like a sitting room with couches and a small coffee table, and the fireplace was on. The room was brightly decorated, different from the dark tone this castle had, and that had to do with the fact that this was part of Abrielle’s chambers.

In the room, there was a well-dressed gentleman with two other younger assistants around teenagers waiting for the princess. As soon as they spotted Abrielle they got on their feet to greet her with a bow.

This startled Abrielle a bit but she guessed she would have to get used to it based on her status. "Sorry for keeping you waiting." Abrielle politely mentioned before taking a seat. She didn’t want to think much about why Lucian and Callista were here. Maybe it had to do with the fact Cedric had refused to go to the palace.

"No, it’s nothing; the wait wasn’t long; it was rather enjoyable to wait in such a lovely room." The gentleman, whose name was Roderick, was the owner of an expensive perfume shop in the capital. Abrielle was a bit stunned when she learnt Roderick had to close his shop to come attend to her. That was the peak of luxury.

"I am glad you enjoyed your stay," Abrielle answered. She was used to Roderick’s flattering; it was normal for nobles to butter up the royal family to be in their good light. Although Cedric was not the crown prince, he had a good reputation in the military and was a general of his own making, so this made Abrielle’s status pretty good.

"Yes, I must say you have great taste. The decorations are perfect." Roderick continued his flattering, causing Abrielle to chuckle. She had nothing to do with the decorations although it was based on Abrielle’s taste.

The room was warm, and her eyes drew to the table that already had a couple of perfume samples arranged in it. "Thank you, but I don’t think I deserve the flattery. Most of the decorations were done before I came here. Please I will prefer it if we get right into business." .

Roderick straightened up and beckoned his assistant to open the samples. "Do you have anything in mind, Like a scent you particularly like?" He inquired.

Abrielle thought a bit; it would be better if she just stuck to the original owner’s favourite scent. Hazel, on the other hand, was not a big fan of expensive perfumes and used mostly sweet-based body sprays back on earth, which she wasn’t sure was available here.

"Do you have anything delicate and lavender-based?" Abrielle suggested and they got into work bringing out several bottles of perfumes. "This is one of our best Lavender scents," Roderick said, handing over the sample. The perfume did have an expensive scent but Abrielle didn’t like it.

She went through a couple of Lavender perfumes but none truly met her taste. It was getting a bit frustrating on the designer’s side. "How about using another base?" Roderick said to bring a small chest. He opened it; just from the intricate carvings on the chest, it was obvious that this was expensive.

"It is a rose and strawberry-based perfume," Roderick mentioned; even before opening the bottle, just based on the scent on the bottle, the perfume was pretty addictive. It was what you would describe as love at first sight. Despite roses being clique this was perfect.

"I think I will take this one," a bright smile curved up Roderick’s lips. Happy Abrielle finally found something of her liking. "Perfect, it’s just 120 gold coins," Roderick said, Making Abrielle almost exclaim at how expensive it was, but then she remembered it wasn’t her money but Cedric’s, who was considered wealthy. But the perfume was still pretty expensive. That amount could buy a slave.

"I will take it," she hesitantly agreed. After she was done selecting her perfume and making payment, Abrielle decided to try on the new perfume, which honestly was entrancing.

She was sceptical about choosing the perfume at first due to the belief by nobles that women were not allowed to use strong perfume, which would attract a lot of attention and would be considered seductive, but all her worries were quickly forgotten after she sprayed it on. Why would anyone hate this perfume?

Abrielle didn’t care about a couple of gossiping women with their cheating husband’s opinions. After all, she was a scandalous person already. After the perfumer left Abrielle was invited for lunch.

She didn’t want to attend because he was fully aware that Lucian and Callista were most likely there, but she had to not disrespect Cedric in public. From the doors that were closed, she could always hear cheerful chatter.

Something that was weird hearing in this castle that was always filled with her bickering.."you can do this it’s just a lunch." Abrielle muttered before signalling the guard to open the doors. Her hands were clenched by her side. She felt scared knowing whenever she met Callista something annoying always happens

The doors opened and Abrielle’s soft footsteps could be heard from the door. The room Instantly went quiet, everyone’s gaze fell on her. It gave her the feeling she wasn’t meant to be here. She didn’t want to be her either but duty demands it or her.

She was stuck at the door, her nerves were all over the place as she felt genuinely scared. This was something that didn’t happen in the novel so she had no idea of what might happen. ’ Stop acting so weak. It’s just dinner.’ she snapped at herself gathering her resolve to head to the table.

"You are finally here, I have been waiting." She heard an annoying familiar say. She was stunned, her eyes drawing towards Cedric. He was smiling at her, his eyes glimmering from behind that mask. "Cedric." She muttered his soft tone left her stunned.

He actually had an expectant gaze. "Stop standing there and come on in." His voice was still gentle just like this morning. Why was he talking to her that way when Callista was here?
