Chapter 100: He is indeed Crazy
Chapter 100: He is indeed Crazy
Abrielle froze when she heard him, and then she glanced at his face from her lower view. A soft smile graced her lips as she burst into a laugh. Was her mind delusional to imagine him saying something so sweet in her dream?
Cedric was spellbound seeing her laugh unguarded and genuinely smiling. "I must be crazy to imagine you saying something so sweet to me when I am not her." She chimed. Cedric’s brows furrowed, trying to make sense of her words.
"Maybe you are not the only crazy one." He answered, he always knew he had a couple of loose nuts but he must have lost them all. ’ Don’t believe it, you must be going crazy. She is evil and vile under that pretty appearance.’ the desperate voice in his head said.
Oddly, he didn’t have those voices in his head until he met her; her appearance really did make him go crazy. "I guess so; hearing it makes it seem true, but it’s a far-fetched dream." She chimed, grabbing his hand to rest her head on.
Her family was right; with the amount in her bank and royalties, they should be doing well. Her mother was a good Manager, so she would spend it well. She only wished to have spent more time with them before being thrown into this hellhole.
Her head found a comfortable position on her shoulders, which she learned on. He was very warm, the kind of warmth she never expected from his cold heart. "It’s not a dream, Abrielle; maybe we can make this work. Let me take you home with me." His voice tenderly said.
The more tender and warm he was the more convinced she was about it being a dream. She shook her head refusing to leave this fleeting dream.
"I want to stay in this dream longer. Just like this for a bit longer." She requested tenderly and he could not say no. She was right this was a dream because there was no way he had offered her to be his home. When he thought about home his mind was always blank.
Then again at the ball after Abrielle ran off. Instead of going towards Abrielle, he went towards Callista. He remembered how scared Callista also was; everything was a blizzard, which made him more confused.
When he was with Abrielle, he had this feeling in his head that he didn’t belong with her but someone purer, which was funny because how can someone as dark as him need something pure,
But when he was with Callista, who had this glow to draw him in, her eyes always reminded him of Abrielle, his heart was telling him it was also wrong. He glanced at his arm where he heard her soft breaths. She was already asleep clinging onto him. A smile graced his lips amused that someone like this wanted to kill him. "You are more interesting than I thought."
His gaze went back to the fire that had already gone off long ago, and it went ablaze again. He leaned back against the cave walls as a rough breath left his lips.

The sun slowly rose to the sky and his soft glow cast on the figures in the cave. Abrielle felt irritated by the rays of the sun. Her clear blue eyes opened, and she was a bit disoriented, but things slowly came clear, and she was shocked to the bones.
Why the hell was she resting her head on Cedric’s lap? When did he get here last night? She remembered having the craziest dreams last night but didn’t remember what happened in it. She thought Cedric was in it, and he was saying something funny, but what was it exactly?
Her gaze went to his strong jawline to his face that wasn’t covered by a mask anymore. He was asleep and truly looked like an angel. He was a dark angel with the mission to end her.
"Good morning," he said with his eyes closed before he slowly opened it. His hand was weaving through her ginger hair. Abrielle jolted out realizing how weirdly close they were. "Good morning Cedric. I am sorry. I mean, what are you doing here?" She rambled.
"I came to find my wife who thought she could run off so easily." He taunted. Cedric raised one of his knees and placed his elbow, which it used to support his head, as he looked back at her.
"I am sorry for what happened. I don’t know what came over me. I should find a way to apologize to Callista but it might cause another misunderstanding. Can you apologize to her for me?" She said sincerely. Cedric was puzzled and confused as to why she wanted to apologize after what happened.
There was no way she was trying her best to be on Callista’s good side. "You ran off for a distance crying, and you want to apologize." He mentioned, which caused Abrielle to laugh nervously.
"I scared her, she was overwhelmed. By the way, why did you have to search for me directly? I thought you would be busy investigating the sorcerer’s attack at the winter haunt." She asked him, her gaze was different. The sadness that was in her eyes last night was nonexistent. It was like she was back to being Abrielle Nightshade.
"You were missing for hours with no sign so I had to naturally search for you, myself. I found you asleep here and decided to wait till morning." He explained getting on his feet as he stretched out. He gave her his hand which she accepted. He was questioning himself if what happened last night was indeed an illusion.
"Oh, I guessed I caused you trouble again. We should head back to the castle. You have an important task to take care of." Abrielle chimed like nothing crazy happened. She walked out of the cave into the snow and glanced back at Cedric, who was still rooted at a spot. She acted so happy but yet was lonely.
He realized at that moment there was indeed more to everything and couldn’t help but wonder the reason she wanted him dead. Was there a justifiable reason?
" What am I thinking? Now I am searching for excuses." He sighed then covered his face with a mask.
