The Veil of Darkness
Chapter 354: Forging The Weapon

Chapter 354: Forging The Weapon

The Cursed Castle was alive with anticipation as the day turned into night, and the full moon began its ascent in the starry sky. Annalise, along with Esmeray, made her way to one of the tallest towers present inside the Seceret Realm and belonged to the faes.

When she stepped out on the rooftop, the silver beams of the moonlight shone on her and carried her gaze toward the centre of the open place where the ancient forge lay dormant, awaiting its next purpose.

The faes had placed it there under the moon and starry sky on Esmeray’s order and now, it was time for Annalise to use it.

As they reached the forge, the crystal globe filled with the warrior’s blood seemed to glow with an inner fire as Annalise carefully placed it on a stone pedestal, and the surroundings filled with a soft, pulsating crimson light. It was a testament to the courage and sacrifice of the warrior.

Next, she gently set the broken piece of the Blue Star beside the crystal globe. Its celestial magic radiated an otherworldly aura that sent shivers down her spine.

Esmeray stepped forward but remained standing at a little distance from her. His presence alone reassured Annalise that she was not alone in this daunting moment.

Taking in a deep breath, Annalise placed the vial of unicorn blood and the strand of unicorn hair side by side. The purity of these ingredients held an unmistakable allure. They symbolized the untamed and majestic forces of nature itself. Their presence here was a testament to Annalise’s connection to the natural world and its creatures.

The last two items to be placed on the pedestal were the strand of Esmeray’s hair and the branch from the Tree of Elements.

With the four unique items displayed before her, Annalise took a deep breath, feeling the weight of destiny on her shoulders. Each item held a story, a legacy, and immense power. They were not chosen randomly but were intricately tied to her powers and destiny. The air was charged with an energy that was palpable to all.

The Dark Lords and the light guardians also made their way to the rooftop while Leela and others stayed behind in the Castle to guard it.

"Don’t be too tensed, Princess, everything is going to be fine. You will definitely forge the best weapon possible." Damien whispered the encouraging words in her ear as he came to stand behind her. His strong arms immediately found their way around her waist and he pulled her back to rest against his chest.

Annalise succumbed in his arms and allowed her tense body to relax. There was no denying that every cell in her body was filled with anxiety but the presence of her husbands calmed her down to great length.

"This is surely not an easy job. What if I messed things up and ruined the weapon?" No matter how hard she tried, it was getting impossible for her to ignore all the negative thoughts that were swarming her brain.

Valerius and Kenric were immediately there to reassure her. "You won’t do that. We all are here by your side, you aren’t alone, Little Bird."

"Just trust your magic to do the best for you, love."

Annalise nodded her head and took in a deep breath while trying to be as positive as everyone around her were.

As the hours passed and the moon climbed higher in the sky, preparations for the forging ritual began in earnest. The ancient forge roared to life, its flames burning with an otherworldly intensity.

The blacksmiths, who had been entrusted with this sacred task, worked tirelessly under the guidance of Sir Niles, Elder Elaron, and Kentic, their hammers striking in rhythm with the beating of their hearts.

Annalise stood before the forge, her hands outstretched, ready to channel her magic into the items. She could feel the energy in the air reaching its peak. The crystal globe pulsed with a deep red light, the Blue Star shard radiated celestial brilliance, and the vial of unicorn blood and strand of unicorn hair seemed to hum with life, and the strand of Esmeray’s hair completed the link among all four items with the branch from the Tree of Elements.

Esmeray stood by her side, his presence reassuring and steady. Together, they began to chant an ancient incantation, a melody of words that resonated with the very essence of the items before them. The air crackled with magic, and the items began to float, suspended in a shimmering circle of power.

The full moon, now at its zenith, bathed the area in its silvery light. The Blue Star’s fragment responded to the celestial energy, and its glow intensified. The other items absorbed this radiant energy, merging their essences together. It was a delicate dance of magic, a symphony of elements coming together in perfect harmony.

As the ritual reached its climax, the items began to transform. The crystal globe merged with the Blue Star shard, forming the blade’s core. The unicorn blood and hair wove themselves into intricate patterns along the blade’s surface, enhancing its strength and resilience. Esmeray’s hair, the final piece of the puzzle, bound the elements together, infusing the weapon with his unique power.

Sir Niles placed the lid over the forge, and now it was time for all to wait and see what sort of weapon would turn out as the result of their combined hardwork.

They all waited in silence for the next several minutes before Valerius moved away the lid with a swift move of his wrist.

With a final surge of magic, the forging was complete. The weapon, glowing in a bright golden light, flew out of the forge and landed straight into Annalise’s hands. She held the delicate looking but a really powerful and strong Celestial Blade in her hands, a masterpiece of magic and craftsmanship. Its blade shimmered with a celestial glow, and it felt weightless, an extension of her very being. She could sense the untapped power within it, waiting to be unleashed.

The place fell silent as everyone gazed upon the newly forged weapon in awe.
