Chapter 326: Winter Solstice Festival (Part Three)

The second and third days of the Winter Solstice Festival were just as fun and energetic as the first one. Just like it was predicted, the festival did bring happiness and positivity in the world and in the hearts of people who had been suffering under the fear of dark energy.

And after three long days of beautiful and successful celebration of the festival, it was finally the night of the great Winter Midnight Ball.

Annalise stood in front of the full-length mirror as she stared at her reflection, making sure that she was properly dressed for the night.

She was adorned in a sumptuous ball gown, crafted from rich, royal blue velvet. The gown’s bodice was exquisitely fitted, accentuating her hourglass figure, while the neckline was modestly square, framed with delicate gold embroidery and intricate beadwork. The sleeves were long and flowing, tapering at the wrists, with cascading layers of sheer, shimmering silk that billow with her every movement.

The voluminous skirt of the gown draped gracefully from her cinched waist, pooling around her feet in a sea of opulent fabric. The skirt was adorned with ornate patterns of gold and silver thread, depicting intricate floral motifs and medieval heraldry. Each step she took created a mesmerizing dance of fabric and color.

Completing her ensemble, she wore a regal, golden headband adorned with gemstones, and her hair, a cascade of platinum-blue curls, spilled elegantly over her shoulders. Her look was a breathtaking blend of timeless elegance and power, a vision of beauty fit for a grand midnight ball.

She heard a knock on the door of her room and then her husbands stepped in one after the other.

The first Prince who caught her eye was the Autumn Prince who was clad in a regal doublet and hose, both made of rich, deep crimson adorned with intricate gold embroidery. His outfit featured puffed sleeves and a high collar, indicative of the fashion of the nobility. A golden chain draped across his chest, giving his attire a boost. His short dark brown hair was pushed back to show his entire forehead and was styled simply.

Kenric carried himself with an air of authority and grace, just like the Prince he was.

The second one was none other than Valerius who stepped inside the room right after Kenric. He was dressed in a long white robe made of top quality fabric. There were intricate patterns of flowers and birds embroidered with deep blue and silver silk threads at the hem of the huge sleeves and also at the bottom of the robe.

A belt made of white and blue fabric was wrapped around his slender waist and a white jade pendent was hanging from it. His white boots also matched the theme of his clothes.

His long silver hair was styled simply with a hairpin also made of white jade. His beautiful straight silky hair cascaded down his shoulders, some falling in the front while the rest at the back.

The next one to step inside was Damien who was also dressed like the essence of his element - Shadow, just like his brothers. He wore a simple tunic with deep raven tones, cinched at the waist with a matching colored leather belt. His trousers were made of durable black wool, and he had laced leather boots that provide comfort for long hours of entertainment. His shoulder length raven hair was pulled back in a bun for a change, highlighting his sharp facial features as light shone on him.

Annalise felt her throat drying as she took in just how gorgeous each one of her husbands looked. She could hardly make herself look away as her gaze kept shifting between all three of them again and again.

But she wasn’t the only one feeling enchanted in that moment. Her husbands were stuck in a very similar situation and as three pair of eyes gazed at her with surprise and pure adoration, Annalise felt her heartbeat increasing.

Valerius was the first one to pull himself out of the enchantment that had fallen over all of them. Taking long strides toward her, he approached her before saying - "You are looking absolutely beautiful, wife. So breathtakingly gorgeous that I no longer want to take you out there and keep you hidden from the eyes of the rest of the world."

He closed the remaining space between them before he pulled her into his arms and placed a soft feathery kiss on her forehead.

Annalise smiled warmly as she looked up at her husband’s face that was filled with warmth and love for her. "Thank you." She whispered back as she traced one of her fingers over his sharp eyebrow - "I can say the same about the three of you. I also don’t like the idea of others seeing the three of you looking this handsome."

Her gaze shifted to Damien and Kenric who were still standing at their initial position without saying a single word.

"Unfortunately, we need to get going. Attending the ball tonight is a must." Kenric reminded them as he took several steps closer in their direction.

"Right. We should be heading there now." Valerius said with a nod of his head before turning his attention back toward Annalise - "Are you ready?" He asked and got a nod of affirmation in response.

In one swift motion of his wrist, two cloaks appeared in his hands out of nowhere. He picked up the blue colored cloak with fur color, before draping it across Annalise’s shoulders and wrapping her in its warmth.

Then all three men put on their own matching cloaks before all of them were set to join the ball.

The Sky Palace, with its towering spires and opulent architecture, stood as a majestic backdrop for the Winter Midnight Ball. The night sky was a deep indigo, adorned with countless stars that twinkled like diamonds against the velvety canvas.

As Annalise and her husbands approached the grand entrance, a sense of anticipation hung in the crisp winter air.

The ballroom itself was a breathtaking spectacle. Enormous moon stones hung from the high, vaulted ceiling, casting a soft, ethereal glow over the room. The walls were adorned with cascading curtains of icy blue and silver, shimmering with the illusion of falling snowflakes. Tall, slender pillars adorned with garlands of winter roses and glistening icicles framed the room, creating a sense of regal enchantment.

The centerpiece of the ballroom was an expansive dance floor, polished to a mirror-like sheen, where couples twirled and swayed to the enchanting melodies of the music that was filling the air of the ballroom. Each step seemed to be taken in time with the rhythm of the music, as though the very atmosphere itself urged everyone to join the dance.

"Let me get us some drinks." Kenric offered before he picked up drinks from the tray of the servant and handed them over to everyone. While all three men got wine, Annalise got a glass of fruit juice which made her arch her eyebrows high in question at the Autumn Prince.

"I just want you to try something new." Kenric defended himself with a sheepish smile, knowing fully well that she won’t be buying his excuse.

Still, she didn’t ask to exchange her juice with wine and just accepted the fact that her husbands won’t be allowing her to drink in public unless she won’t leave them with any option.

They drank and ate some snacks which tasted so delicious that Annalise was almost tempted to fill her appetite completely with just those snacks. Yet, she succeeded in controlling herself because she also wanted to try the dishes prepared especially for the dinner.

The intoxicating scent of winter blooms filled the air, mingling with the tantalizing aroma of the elaborate feast that awaited in a side chamber, tempting way too many people to just forget about the ball and focus on the food.

Annalise was distracted from her thoughts of food when Valerius asked her for a dance. She slipped her hand in his waiting one and the two of them joined others on the dance floor.

Valerius was absolutely great with his moves. Annalise barely needed to make any effort as her man handled her expertly. The two flowed across the dance floor, vibing to the music and enjoying the moment.

After the Winter Prince, Annalise also danced with Damien and Kenric before Elijah also found her to ask for a dance.

As they all moved through the crowd, guests adorned in their finest attire exchanged laughter, conversation, and whispers of admiration for the enchanting couple.

The Winter Midnight Ball at the Sky Palace was a night of magic, where love, beauty, and enchantment converged under the starlit sky. The scene was a masterpiece of elegance and romance, leaving everyone who attended with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
