Chapter 300: Valerius’ Return

Annalise stared at the symbol, studying it for a moment before she replied - "If I haven’t guessed wrong, this symbol is related to what happened to the Seelie Realm back then."

"You mean...?" Kenric left his question lingering and Annalise replied without wasting much time - "Do you really think that there’s no story behind the sudden downfall of the entire Seelie Realm. Even if it was the dark energy that destroyed everything, there is still a story behind all this that either no one noticed or dared to find out about."

Her question was legitimate. Despite the stories of how the dark energy destroyed the Seelie Realm one day, there was definitely some sort of story hidden behind all those rumors and theories.

"Mother never really mentioned much about that incident but if there’s really something like that, we can ask her about it. I’m sure she won’t deny answering our questions now." Kenric offered and Damien agreed with a nod.

The Midnight Queen was indeed one of those few people who could help them unveal the mysteries surrounding the Seelie Realm.

"Let’s investigate deeper into this once Valerius returns." Damien suggested and both Kenric and Annalise nodded their heads in approval.

For now, all they could do was to be patient and wait.

That night, it was once again only three of them at the dining table as they ate dinner without Valerius, all waiting to see the Winter Prince back in the Castle soon.

When Annalise drifted off to the land of dreams, she was protectively surrounded by her husbands on both sides with their arms wrapped around her.

It was a peaceful night, giving hope for a peaceful day ahead.

The morning came sooner and with it, another day of early winter.

Annalise was brought out of her slumber when she felt something soft drifting down her temple before tracing its way to her lips. Whatever it was, it made her skin tingle, pulling her further from the peaceful world of sleep.

She tried to shake it off but whatever it was, they were determined to wake her up. The sensation stopped and she was almost about to fell asleep all over again when something soft and cold suddenly pressed against her lips. Her soulmate bond became alive as it immediately recognized the touch of her mate.

Her eyes flew open, battling the brightness for a moment before she finally got to see Valerius’ face as he pulled back his face slightly to look at her.

Tears of happiness welled up in Annalise’s eyes as she pulled back slightly to look at him. Only she knew how much she had missed him and how worried she had been for the past couple of days.

The three men in her life had become the most important people to her. She could hardly live without anyone of them.

I was supposed to pick up Ezra and others from the Portal Hall but then they got in some troubles and we have to go and help them out urgently."

"I understand," Annalise nodded, trying to be strong. "It’s just hard being without you for so long."

"I promise, from now on, I’ll do my best to not disappear on you like this," Valerius said earnestly, his eyes filled with determination.

Annalise smiled, her heart swelling with love for the Winter Prince who meant so much to her just like his btothers. "I’ll hold you to that promise."

Valerius smiled warmly at her in response and Annalise did the one thing that her soul was craving the most at the moment. She placed her hand around his nape before pulling him in for a kiss.

His soft but cold lips found hers and a sweet tingle erupted over Annalise’s body at the sense of familiarity.

She parted her lips almost immediately as his tongue seeked permission for entrance and his hand found its way into her hair as he pulled her closer to deepen the kiss.

A soft moan slipped past her mouth as Annalise felt both her body and soul enjoying the sweetness of the moment.

When the two of them finally pulled away after ending the kiss a couple of moments later, she found herself gazing into the mesmerizing ocean blue eyes that were glowing icy blue at the moment.

Both she and her soul felt overjoyed and confident every time her husbands’ eyes started glowing brightly because of their immense love and desire for her.

Valerius placed another sweet little kiss on her lips before he pulled her back into his embrace, hugging her close to him as if his body was already missing her touch.

They sat together on the edge of the bed, sharing stories of their week apart, and catching up on the little details of each other’s lives.

Valerius recounted all the details about how he and Elijah found Ezra and others trapped in an illusion created by the dark energy in the southeast mountains and how it took them such a long time to sucessfully walk out of that enchanted place, while Annalise updated him about what she and the others had been doing in his absence. Still, she didn’t tell him about the talk that she had with Damien and Kenric the night before as it needed a lot of time for explaining everything.

Considering that it was early morning and they were supposed to join everyone for breakfast in less than two hours, it was really not an appropriate time for such a lengthy and serious discussion.

She decided to find Damien and Kenric before having a talk with Valerius the coming evening about all the secrets and theories she had been keeping with her.

At the same time, she wondered if they all could trust Leela and others to share these secrets. It was not like she didn’t trust them but considering the gravity of the topic, she could only be discreet about people she could choose to trust. After all, one little mistake could end up making her lose way too much.

The two of them remained wrapped in each other’s arms, cherishing every moment of their reunion for the next hour or so. The bond between them felt stronger than ever, as if the time apart had only served to deepen their connection.

"I love you, Valerius," Annalise whispered, her head resting against his chest.

"I love you too, Annalise," he replied, planting a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "You are my heart, and I’ll always come back to you."

Neither of them noticed that they were so at peace in that moment that without realizing it, they drifted off to sleep, entwined in a love that transcended time and distance.

Miraculously, no one came to wake them up even after the hour of breakfast had already passed, as if they all allowed these two to have a much needed peaceful sleep together.

As the hours passed, their souls remained connected, and they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
