Chapter 298: Unveiling Secrets (Part One)

As the crackling fire cast dancing shadows across the library, Annalise took a deep breath and began to share the secrets she had kept hidden for so long. Damien leaned closer, eager to hear what she had to say.

Annalise: "Damien, I need to tell you something, actually all three of you..."

She didn’t even get to finish the sentence before the library door opened and Kenric stepped inside with his usual charming smile playing on his lips.

"Did you just mention me?" He asked while shifting his gaze between Annalise and Damien.

Annalise and Damien exchanged a glance before the former smiled and just shook her head before motioning Kenric to settle down on one of the empty seats next to her.

Kenric didn’t need to be told twice as he immediately settled down next to Annalise and his gaze also landed on the old-looking book and the diary as Damien passed them over to Annalise. "What are these?" He inquired curiously.

Annalise remained silent for a few moments as she softly garzed the leather over of the book and diary, the latter had been giving her weird feeling from the very monet she saw it. The diary felt almost too personal to be shared, personal to her - which once again made Annalise question her entire existence.

Taking in a deep breath, she finally spoke - "This old leather book, it’s not just an ordinary one. It actually contains the history of the Seelie Realm. You can actually call it one of a kind. The source from where I got this... they told me that this one is a real treasure. There’s a lot of information inside it about the Light Faes, their powers, the creation of Seelie Realm, and the history of the Seelie Royal Family."

Finishing, she put down the old book on the wooden table in front of her before her attention shifted to the diary.

Her husbands silently listened as she continued - "This diary... it belonged to the Late Light fae Queen." She took a pause there, letting the information sink in before continuing, "It’s filled with her personal thoughts, experiences, and, most importantly, the secrets of the Seelie Realm and the Light Royal family that is nowhere to be found in the history book."

"Where did you get these from?" Kenric finally asked the question Annalise had been waiting for them to ask.

Looking back, she was not sure exactly what stopped her from telling the truth to her husbands when she found out about the secrets of the castle. Obviously, she was feeling lost and confused back then, but those shouldn’t have been the reasons for keeping so many secrets from her mates.

"I know that the three of you have shown so much understanding and patience toward me these past eight months. Despite knowing that I was keeping secrets from you, none of you tried to meddle or force information out of me. I will always be grateful for that." Annalise confessed genuinely.

At first, neither Damien nor Kenric spoke for a couple of moments but then the former finally broke the silence. His gaze was locked with Annalise’s as he spoke - "You are our mate and wife, Princess. But that doesn’t mean you are no longer allowed to have privacy. It’s not like we told you about all our secrets from the very beginning. We also took our time before revealing everything. So, it’s completely fine with us if you also want to take your time before sharing your secrets with us."

Kenric nodded his head, supporting his brother’s statement. Their understanding toward her and their relationship brought warmth to Annalise.

"Thank you." She said in a small but warm voice, meaning it from the bottom of her heart.

Kenric reached out and took hold of her hand before giving it a light squeeze, an assurance and also an encouragement that Annalise really needed at that moment.

Annalise thought about exactly where to start her story and after thinking for a while, she finally started - "A while ago, I started finding out that the castle is much more than just a living place. There are secrets, surprises, and much more... also... some mysterious people."

"People? You mean there is... or are... people other than us living in the castle?" Kenric almost sounded baffled at the prospect of someone else living in the same castle where he had spent the past four centuries of his life believing that he and his brothers were the only ones living in there.

Annalise slowly nodded her head in affirmative and watched as the expression changed on both her husbands’ faces. One looked perplexed while the other looked intrigued.

"One night, I suddenly found myself venturing through the south corridor leading to the flower pavilion. Back then, it was one of those parts of the castle that was still untouched by us. There, I met a garden fairy, who’s also one of the Guardians of the castle." Annalise revealed.

Kenric and Damien exchanged a quick look before the former repeated in a questioning tone - "A garden fairy? And guardians? There are guardians of this castle... like in plural?"

Annalise nodded her head to both the questions as she tried to suppress her smile at the Autumn Prince’s bewildered look. "Do you know anything about the history of this castle?" She asked.

"Rumors said that this castle was built by a light fae as they wanted to live in seclusion. But when the three of us first came here to live, this place was nearly overtook by darkness. Then we found the hidden portal and that made us realize that this place was more than just a house, probably a cover up to keep the Portal safe." Damien answered.

Annalise nodded her head in understanding. She knew exactly where they were coming from. After all, even she would have never believed that this place was hiding so many secrets.

"This castle..." She spoke while looking around, "... belonged to none other than the Late Light Fae Queen."
