Another day passed and Annalise still couldn’t stop reading the book and the diary. She was so deep in reading that she completely ignored Kenric as he stepped inside the room.

"We have been wondering why you have suddenly started spending all your time either here or in the library. Seems like you find a really good book."

Annalise nearly jumped off her bed when she heard her husband’s voice, and she turned to see him in the doorway.

She folded the top corner of the page she had been reading before closing the book and putting it aside with the diary next to her pillow.

She softly smiled at Kenric as she finally turned her attention toward him. He has a dark gray shirt on, with heavy-looking boots and black trousers. His short hair was styled back and the red rings in his dark eyes were glowing softly.

"Maybe it’s time for me to take my leave" Little Snow Lion grumbled from its place near the stack of pillows.

Annalise watched as her familiar stood up and jumped down the bed before strutting out of the room.

Climbing out of bed, she walked toward Kenric and was nearly taken aback when he smashed his lips onto hers the second she was close enough.

Seeing as her body and soul also had the same thought, she kissed him back just as passionately as he lifted her up and carried her into the lounge. He sat down at the edge of the bed with her on his lap, her legs parted and making her fully aware of how hard he was, even hidden by his trousers.

"How did you get in?" Annalise asked, breaking away from his lips.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Kenric dropped his lips to her shoulder, ever so softly kissing her.

"Your question doesn’t make much sense, Little Bird," he told her, brushing her hair away from her cheek.

Annalise did realize that her question didn’t make any sense. So, instead of replying to him, she kissed him and pushed him over onto his back before climbing on top of him.

She had never been so bold before but that was the last thing she wanted to think about. All she knew was that every cell in her body was filled with desire for the man in front of her eyes.

Mustering out the courage she needed, she bit down on her lower lip while pulling down one of her dress straps down her shoulder, all the while keeping her eyes locked with his fiery ones.

"Are you sure, Little Bird? You shouldn’t start a game you don’t dare to complete." The warning was more than clear in his tone as he spoke without removing his eyes from hers.

"I’ve always been sure about you, Kenric," she answered without even realizing what she was saying and the groan that she was gifted from him only made her more confident.

She leaned down and kissed him, making him groan against her lips all over again as the two of them passionately kissed.

It didn’t take much time before they were ripping each other’s clothes off, not liking the barrier between their bodies.

"Want to continue then?" He asked while lightly scratching the valley between her breasts.

Instead of using words to answer, Annalise trailed her fingers down his broad shoulders before closing the distance between their faces and placing her lips against his.

Her hands traced his muscular chest before trailing the way back to his shoulders, all the while the two of them continued to kiss.

Kenric’s hands gripped her waist as he tried to not to take over the control all over again. He tried to be patient with her.
