Chapter 223: Massage In The Pool

The pool room was lit with dozens of aromatic candles that Freya had recently purchased during her visit to the capital market couple of days ago.

Still, the light was still only enough so there was no glare in the room, it didn’t really fill the entire place with brightness.

Annalise groaned as pain shot through her shoulders while Sera and Vladiya continued to massage her back. Her body was not only left completely exhausted but also tensed and sore when Damien finally let her escape from the two hours-long training which felt like ages to her.

His teachings and whatever she learned from them, barely helped her to survive. Though she did succeed in ducking and avoiding some of his sharp blows and hits but that was all. In that two hours long training, she only survived without getting hit for like somewhere between five to ten minutes but for the rest, she was mostly seen sprawled on the sand-covered ground as Damien really showed her no mercy.

She didn’t get physically hurt but with the soreness of her muscles, the exhaustion, and the frustration for being treated like a pudding rolling on the sand, she sure was feeling beyond mad and frustrated. The only thing that made her feel slightly better was the fact that she won’t be getting into another combat training session with the second lord until next week. She just hoped that Kenric and Valerius weren’t preparing to torture her just like their brother.

She was in the pool with her arms resting on the guardrail and her back facing the two girls who had been massaging her back and shoulders to help her relieve the pain and soreness. The herbal tea that Aunt Claire gave her after the training had been working slowly to help in erasing the pain.

"My lady, I’m going to massage your back with the soothing paste that the second lord has given us. You should reconsider your decision of not using it considering how uncomfortable you are feeling." Sera was brave enough to remind Annalise that she barely had any choice other than accepting the medicine her husband had offered if she really wanted to get relief from the pain and soreness anytime soon.

A deep sigh left Annalise’s lips as she finally gave up and responded, "Alright. Do whatever you want." She just closed her eyes after that and just allowed herself to relax as she waited for either Sera or Vladiya to continue massaging her.

Several moments passed but neither of the women started massaging her, instead, Annalise heard some movements behind her. She was about to turn around and look at exactly what was going on, she felt the soft touch of one of the women’s hands on her shoulders.

A sigh escaped Annalise’s lips as she finally felt the light pressure of Sera, or Vladiya’s fingers on her shoulders before they slowly glided down her spine. But the hands disappeared the very next moment, leaving her back wanting more.

She kept her eyes closed and her head resting over her hands as she waited for the women to begin. It took a couple of seconds but she finally felt the fingers coming to rest at the bottom of her back with something cold and sticky which was probably the massaging paste.

The fingers started from the bottom and then moved upward, toward her heart while applying light pressure. Then the hands lightly moved down the outside of her back all the while continuing to maintain the light pressure.

Annalise couldn’t help but moan out loudly as she felt her sore back muscles finally loosening up as the hands continued to repeat their technique for a while, gradually increasing from light to medium pressure to warm up her back muscles before they finally moved to massage her shoulders and neck area.

After several moments passed, the hands stopped once again before returning with another scoop of paste and when they started massaging her back again, the technique was different.

The person used their palms, fingertips, and even the knuckles, in short, circular motions. Lightly, the hands massaged her entire back along with the shoulders.

It was at that particular moment when she felt a flicker of warmth shooting through the fingers gliding over her back and sending sparks all over her body, did her sweet dreamy state was broken and her eyes flew open.

"What are you doing here?" She asked the man who cleverly replaced Sera and Vladiya at some point without letting her realize it. He even went as far as creating walls between their bond to stop her from getting aware of his presence behind her.

Instead of responding to her question immediately, the man placed a kiss on the very center of her spine, almost making her entire body shiver under the influence of tangles of pretty sparks that once again hit her already vulnerable body.

"I heard about how harsh my brother was on you during the training. So I decided to come here and help you in feeling a little bit better." He whispered next to her ear as he took a seat next to her on the guardrail.

"Is this some plan you brothers have come up with? One will give me pain and the other will use some tactics to make me feel better?" Annalise didn’t sound the least bit impressed and neither she really was, to begin with.

Instead of refusing or accepting, Kenric just responded with a question of his own. "Then what do you think the third one will be doing?"

Annalise didn’t reply because she had no clue if he was just going along with her or was actually serious. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes as she whispered softly, "Since you are here to make my pain go away, you should better continue with the massage. I just find out that you aren’t that bad at it."

A soft chuckle escaped Kenric’s lips as his hands found their way to the bottom of her back as he began massaging again. "When you have lived for so long, it’s inevitable to not learn some really cool things."
