Chapter 37: They are magical
"Why did Mother invite Alora to my marriage when she knew that she cannot even look? I don’t understand why Mother want to ruin such a beautiful day," Venus said annoyingly.
"Why do you speak like this toward your sister? You know well in what circumstances Alora grew up. As her sister, you should have supported her always," Rhea said while closing the boxes of necklaces after them checking them.
"Mother, tomorrow, no one will be able to enjoy because of Alora. Everyone is scared of her eyes. Also, I found nothing good in her, which could make me support her," Venus pronounced. She stood up from the vanity chair and turned around to gaze at Rhea.
"You sound just like your grandmother, and that disappoints me the most," Rhea muttered, her heart heavy with sorrow. "Alora is a selfless soul. Have you not seen how much your sister longed for the love of her siblings? Elliot never even bothered to acknowledge her existence. It breaks my heart to see my children treat their sister with such disregard."
"Mother, I’ve suffered because of Alora. And now she’s living a life of luxury in the palace. Who would have thought she’d end up as one of the prince’s wife? She’s gotten more than enough in this life, or else she wouldn’t have deserved it," Venus stated with a firm gaze. "You always prioritize Alora over me and Elliot," she lamented, feeling neglected.
"I never intended to do that. I regret my foolishness, knowing it caused Alora so much suffering," Rhea murmured, her voice heavy with remorse as she brushed away the tears welling in her eyes.
Venus rolled her eyes, feeling a pang of jealousy towards Alora. She couldn’t help but think that Alora had somehow lucked out, perhaps because of those captivating eyes of hers. Alora had managed to capture Magnus’s heart, something no other woman had achieved. The day Alora married the royal prince, a vampire no less, only fueled Venus’s envy.
Although she never dreamed to marry a vampire, but seeing Magnus with Alora, Venus felt if she could also get such kind of fortune as her sister.
They heard a knock on the door and Elliot walked in since it was open.
"Sister, Mother, I’ve double-checked all the preparations. Everything is in perfect order," Elliot announced, flashing a reassuring smile as he sensed the tension between them.
"Is this about Alora again?" Elliot inquired, noting the strained atmosphere.
"Yes. Mother has invited Alora to my wedding. I just hope nothing goes wrong tomorrow because she seems to bring negativity wherever she goes," Venus remarked bitterly.
"Venus, refrain from speaking ill of Alora. Show some restraint," Rhea admonished, her voice rising despite her reluctance to engage in conflict. "Go to bed early," she instructed and left the room.
Venus clenched her fists as her mother angered her.
"Sister Venus, I don’t think anything will happen. You should not stress yourself. Have a good night sleep," Elliot said and left the room, making sure to close the door behind him.
Venus scoffed. "Even from the werewolf attack, she got saved. It would be best if shd had died that day," she muttered.

Alora slipped into her nightgown and settled into bed, her gaze fixated on the door, anticipating Magnus’s arrival.
’Prince Magnus was definitely out of the place at the dining. I hope he tells me what’s going on. His eyes did tell me a different story.’
As the doors closed, Alora came out of her thoughts and she looked in Magnus’s direction. Her eyes grew big as she saw his upper body was not covered at all.
"The weather was quite warm today, even the night hasn’t cooled down much," Magnus remarked as he settled onto the mattress.
"It seemed rather normal to me, Your Highness," Alora murmured softly.
"No, the temperature was unusually high today," Magnus insisted, pulling the blanket over himself as he leaned against the headboard.
Alora kept her eyes away, feeling nervous. She fiddled with her fingers.
"Did you not like it?" Magnus asked.
"Like what?" Alora glanced at him for a moment before returning her gaze to the dressing table.
"My body, Wife," Magnus replied. An amusing smirk started forming on his lips.
Alora’s eyes stopped blinking for a few seconds. "Oh, I like it." She turned her gaze at him and smiled. Her hands were now tightly clutching the blanket’s edge.
Magnus suddenly moved close to her. "Then, why are you shying away?" He asked in a teasing tone. His arm rested around her shoulder as he clung close to her.
"Your Highness, I didn’t shy away," Alora stated and she met his gaze.
"Then," Magnus murmured as he straddled her lap, "what about this?"
Alora’s breath caught in her throat as his hands found their way to her bare arms, their faces drawing closer together. The pounding of her heart echoed in her ears, creating a symphony of anticipation and uncertainty within her.
As his fingers trailed up her arms, sending shivers down her spine, Alora’s body reacted instinctively. She felt a surge of electricity as his lips met the sensitive skin of her neck, his touch sending waves of sensation through her.
With a gentle touch, Magnus’s hand found its place on her shoulder, and Alora’s senses were overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment.
Alora now felt she was truly an innocent woman before marriage. There was something more in the marriage, which she had no idea of. When her mother said, she needed to give everything what her husband desires, she started feeling it was related to physical intimacy about which Magnus cleared her the other night.
Magnus read her thoughts and peppered kisses up her throat to her chin. He stopped right in front of her lips, which quivered as she breathed in apprehension.
"Alora, do you know what I thought when the first time I got to know about your eyes?" Magnus asked, his hand firmly rested on her back.
"That these are beautiful," Alora replied.
"That they are magical," Magnus proclaimed. "Your mother told me the woman who handed her the apple said that you’ll be protected. I think you’ve something special in you, Alora, something which makes you magical that only you can handle these eyes. Not everyone can be as good as you are," he affirmed with an affectionate gaze.
