Chapter 109. The Wolves Vs Leo
Chapter 109: 109. The Wolves Vs Leo
Leo stood in the bloody mess of the seventh floor, his body covered in cuts and bruises, blood soaking through his torn dark-blue coat. He ripped it off, the fabric falling apart, showing a black undershirt wet with sweat and blood.
Elynn’s glowing interface popped up, pulling his mind from the pain.

Leo’s eyes sparkled, pain fading as excitement kicked in. "Elynn, why’d you wait so long to show me this?" he muttered, smirking.
[...]
"What, you slucking now?" He laughed, looking over the choices. With 1610 Mana Shards, he had to pick smart. After thinking, he said, "Buy Shadowstep, Boots of Agility, and Copy Resonance Level 2."

"Yeah!"
[Items Purchased! Mana Shards Balance: 260]
A soft glow covered his feet, the Boots of Agility appearing in a flash before sinking into his stats.
[Speed: 64 → 69]
Leo rolled his shoulders, eyes on the staircase to the sixth floor. "Let’s go," he muttered.
He stopped at the top of the sixth floor’s staircase, hand on the rusty metal door the mercenaries had crashed through before. He pushed the door open slowly, peeking out. The corridor was quiet, too quiet, like the seventh floor but heavier. Sensing no danger, he stepped in.
His boots echoed in the big hallway, the only sound filling the floor. The sixth floor looked different—cleaner, with bigger cells, their bars shiny, more like rooms than cages. "Guess this is where they kept those mercenaries," Leo muttered, his red eyes checking the empty cells. "Fancy spot for muscles guys, huh?"
He paused, the silence feeling wrong. He touched the ring on the silver chain around his neck, voice low. "It’s nothing, I’m getting us out of this nightmare." But a faint shake under his feet stopped him. His instincts screamed, and he used Shadowstep, vanishing into darkness.
The spot he stood on exploded, stone breaking as a huge axe slammed down. Leo appeared a few steps away, crouching, blood dripping from a new cut on his cheek. He looked up at the bald Wolves leader, his axe stuck in the floor.
Something was off. The leader’s muscles were massive, twice as big, veins glowing a sick gold. His grin was wild. Leo barely reacted as the second Wolf jumped from the side, his sword a fast blur.
Leo rolled, the blade scratched his back, and jumped back with a burst of wind mana, just dodging the third Wolf’s hammer as it smashed a cell door to bits.
Gasping, Leo summoned the Blood Dragger, its crimson blade glowing. "You guys have been hitting the gym or what?" he growled, his smirk gone, face serious. These Wolves were different—way stronger, their power twisted and wrong.
The leader roared, charging, his axe swinging with floor-shaking force. Leo met him, the Blood Dragger clashing with the axe, sparks flying. The hit was brutal, pushing Leo back, his boots scraping the stone.
The second Wolf attacked from the side, his sword slashing. Leo ducked, but the blade cut deep into his shoulder, blood spraying. He gritted his teeth, using Shadowstep to teleport behind the leader, slashing his back. The cut was shallow, the leader’s skin hard as metal. The third Wolf’s hammer swung, and Leo dove, the hit twisting a cell bar into scrap.
Leo called his Shadow Wraiths, their purple eyes shining as they appeared, claws ripping the hammer-wielder’s chest. The Wolf roared, not caring about pain, and smashed one wraith into fading shadows. The second wraith clawed his throat, drawing blood, but the Wolf grabbed it, crushing it with a gross snap.
[Shadow Wraiths Destroyed]
Pain burned Leo’s shoulder, his senses sharp with adrenaline. The leader charged again, axe swinging. Leo blocked with the Blood Dragger, using Mana Surge. The blade flared with fire mana, and he slashed, cutting off the leader’s arm in a burst of blood. The Wolf didn’t care and kept fighting, eyes blazing with rage.
"Damn it!" Leo cursed, dodging as the second Wolf’s sword sliced his thigh, blood pouring.
Nimbus emerged from Leo’s shadow, tackling the second Wolf, claws slashing his chest. The Wolf roared, grabbing Nimbus, his strength too high. Leo acted fast, using Shadowstep to get behind the hammer-wielder.
He stabbed the Blood Dagger into his spine, twisting with Precision Strike, the blade sinking deep. The Wolf stumbled, and Leo slashed his throat, blood spraying as he fell.
[Enemies Killed: 1/3]
The leader’s axe hit Leo’s side, opening a huge cut. Leo staggered, blood pooling, his vision blurry.
The second Wolf threw Nimbus against the wall, the panther hitting with a loud thud, his roar weakening. Leo yelled, "Elynn, heal!"
[Healing Protocol Initiated (2/3)]
His wounds started closing, but it hurt like hell and takes few moments.
The second Wolf charged, sword up. Nimbus jumped, clawing the Wolf’s face. The Wolf roared, grabbing Nimbus and slamming him to the ground, fists pounding hard.
Nimbus growled, his form flickering, fading under the attack. Leo’s eyes locked on Nimbus, his heart racing as the panther dissapeared. His wounds were almost healed, but ragw took over, pushing out the pain.
The leader swung his axe, aiming for Leo’s neck. The blade stopped mid-air, caught in Leo’s hand, now covered in a glowing gold gauntlet. The bald Wolf’s grin faded, confusion in his eyes.
"Hey, you know how pissed I am?" Leo’s head turned, his red eyes empty, voice a cold whisper. "Even death will fear your end."
