“Do you know about it, Zhong Niangyao?” Zhong Mengxuan stared at Zhong Niangyao without blinking, as if trying to discern something from her eyes.

“It’s about Chenran, do you know?” Zhong Mengxuan’s expression was gloomy, even sinister, “He has another woman now. Did you know about this all along? And, did you have a hand in this?”

When she had just learned about it, it was like a bolt from the blue, and she felt utterly confused, hardly able to believe such a reality.

Her first reaction was to confront Lu Chenran directly, asking him if he had another woman.

She thought Lu Chenran would deny it, but to her surprise, he frankly admitted it. She refused to accept it, she made a scene, but she was only met with Lu Chenran’s impatience; he even brazenly questioned her right to make accusations, saying that after all, she was just a mistress he couldn’t bring into the light.

All this time, Lu Chenran had been gentle with her, never once harsh. Their time together was sweet, and Lu Chenran was generous towards her. Although she had no formal status, all the treatment made her believe that Lu Chenran loved her, that she was special in his heart.

But Lu Chenran’s words made her recognize the stark truth. In Lu Chenran’s eyes, she was nothing more than a plaything. All the kindness was just toying with her.

She was deeply hurt by those words, but soon she gathered herself. She quickly contacted Lu Chenran again, apologized, and said pitifully that her reaction had been so strong only because she loved him too much, fearing she would lose him.

After hearing her explanation, Lu Chenran stepped down gracefully, and in the end, even spoke to her gently.

Facing Lu Chenran’s sweet words, she didn’t feel a trace of happiness, but rather an endless desolation.

But she was also clear in her heart that she could no longer afford to lose Lu Chenran. Although the Zhong Family hadn’t formally cut ties with her, they wouldn’t be involved in her affairs anymore. As for her parents, their relationship had also become very tense. Even if something really happened to her, her parents wouldn’t care anymore.

Now, during the time Chenran went back to accompany Long Jiarui, he found another woman. Are you saying you’re not involved?”

But this fear was quickly crushed by her anger, “I know, even if Lu Chenran’s affair isn’t your doing, it’s still related to you somehow.”
