Chapter 52: The Huang Family

That Saturday morning, servants were rushing up and down with grandma Lu instructing them. She wanted the mansion and food perfect for her daughter Rebecca.

Two hours later, the whole family was seated in the living room, Rebecca, Rose, Jane and Nicole had also arrived. Ryan decided to spend the night in the mansion since there were no emergency surgeries.

"Apart from the fact that we have missed you Rebecca, we have another issue that we need your help on. You never told us about your family when you got married to Jonathan...we are not forcing you but we have a mystery to solve which will only progress when you tell us about your origin."

Grandpa Lu spoke making all the people present nod their heads in agreement and Rebecca stiffen a little hearing the word origin.

She held her breath for some seconds and looked up, her eyes seemingly tearing up.

The members knew they had brought up a sensitive topic but gave her the chance to speak.

"I have hidden it for all those years but I guess it is time." She sighed before continuing,

"My full name is Rebecca Huang and I come from the Huang Family in country B. That one influential Huang Family you all know."

"What!!" They all shouted in unison but Jane frowned a little as she had a bad feeling hearing the name Huang but she kept quiet and let Rebecca continue.

"I know you are all shocked but that is the truth. Initially, Jonathan told you that I came here for adventure and research but the truth is deeper than that. I..."

She didn’t finish before Jane finished her statement for her, "You ran away from home."

Everyone looked at Jane and back at Rebecca who was nodding with a bitter smile.

"You are right Jane. I really ran away from home and that is because my parents wanted to marry me to someone shady, when I tried explaining to them the nature of the man, they refused to listen to me and even believed his words. I was so heart broken and I didn’t want to stay in country B again, so I fled and when I met Jonathan, I ended up falling for him."

Her tears were now flowing but that didn’t stop her.

"I never ran alone, I escaped together with my twin sister."

Upon hearing this, Jane was now sure that something was exactly not right. Her aunt having a twin sister???

Everyone else was lefy dumbfounded hearing she had a twin sister! No one ever knew that about Rebecca!

Rose, who was quiet suddenly spoke up. "Mom, if you had a twin sister, that means that my aunt might have also been pregnant or married somewhere out there."

Reflexively, their eyes turned to look at Nicole.

"Aunt, some days back, we all realized the similarities between Nicole and Rose and we can even clearly see you in Nicole... could it be possible that Nicole is your niece?"

Jane asked, making the crying Rebecca immediately stop and closely look at Nicole.

She started stammering as she ran towards her, "You..you..you look like her! You look like my sister...Em..Em... Where is your mother Nicole? I have no doubt that you are her daughter!" She touched Nicole’s hands, her tears now on another level.

They ran away together, suffered together and ended up losing contact completely!

Nicole was left in shock as her mind could not clearely process what she was hearing. Huang family? Mother? Twins? She couldn’t even answer!

Jane calmly called the butler and asked for a laptop. "Aunt, is your sister by any chance called Emily Huang?"

Upon hearing her sister’s name, Rebecca stiffened once again and nodded her head repeatedly, "Tell me where my sister is Jane, how do you know her?"

Everyone else was now anxious. Things had escalated quickly and from the look of things, what Jane was about to tell the didn’t seem good.
