Both Jane and Ryan stared at her with blank expression and she knew the woman before her is indeed Jane Lu.

Clara turned to Mary, the receptionist and gave her a cold stare, "You witch! You just wanted to embarrass me before the young miss!"

Her attitude took a 360 degrees turn as she turned to talk to Jane. She bowed slightly and wore a bright smile.

"I am so sorry for the earlier encounter Miss Lu. I was just standing up for our boss,he is too handsome for women to ignore her. My name is Clara Xu but you can just call me Clara, there is no need for formalities between us, you see... " She immediately stopped talking when she heard a laughter, a non stop one in fact and realized Jane was laughing at her.

"Miss Clara, who told you that we have some kind of relationship for us to drop formalities? You see woman, I have met many women like you before and before you even dream further, let me burst your bubble, I can never allow such a pretentious woman like you to get together with my brother." Jane told her in her normal intimidating voice.

Boom! Clara felt like her ears were playing some joke on her and that Jane did not say such a thing. She did not even have time to respond before Jane continued, pointing at Mary,

"Such a woman is the kind of woman who deserves to be next to my brother here. A woman who clearly knows the difference between wrong and right. She is beautiful and smart, a perfect candidate for Mrs Lu. Isn’t that right bro?"

She finished looking at Ryan who to the surprise of everyone else present nodded, staring at Mary.

"This witch doesn’t even qualify to stand next to me, let alone become Mrs Lu!" Clara shouted bringing back everyone’s attention but Ryan immediately silenced her up. "You’d better shut up before you lose your job woman!" He turned to Mary and his voice became normal, "If she tries to cause you trouble, don’t hesitate to come to my office."

Mary still couldn’t believe it but was in for another shock when she felt something cold on her hand, Jane’s business card!

"You can also inform me if my brother takes a less satisfying action after you report. " Jane smiled widely at her, patted her head and pulled her brother, "Let’s go potato head."

The two siblings left the area, leaving every single person shocked and speechless! What did they just witness? Two powerful CEO’S fighting for the attention of a receptionist?

Wait... did CEO Lu just fancy Mary to become her sister in law? This is big news! By the time everyone came back to their senses, most nurses and female doctors were giving Mary looks of anger, some jealousy and some hatred and for people like Clara gave her all three of them.

Mary sighed but deep down her heart was beating so fast! She, like any other female in the hospital fancies Ryan but she knows the Lu family is a very influential family and possibly they would wish to have an equally influential daughter-in-law, not someone like her, an orphan who doesn’t know her parents!

She sat back on her sit, listening to people passing by with the same gossip that she might end up being the next Matriarch of the Lu family according to the Lu siblings.

She sighed in a dissapointed manner because she knew she can never become one no matter how much she tried but the poor girl did not know her life would soon make a big turn, in a way she would have never expected.
