Chapter 46: Thank you

"Mr Yang, I just said thank you and besides, am nothing but a stranger to you, what makes you so concerned?"

Jane asked him back, but surprisingly, she was not mad that he lashed out on her, instead, she asked in a very calm voice.

Liam raised an eyebrow seeing her reaction which of course came unexpected to him.

"I choose to be concerned because you are my concern. I do not know how you will interpret it but that is what I want and not even you can make me not feel concerned or worried about you if I want to so get your feet back in bed." He looked at her waiting for her to retort back but she didn’t.

"You realize that if I occupy your bed for another day you will end up waking up with body aches because the coach does not fit your frame." She looked at him with an amused look but stood up and continued speaking,

"I am really grateful Mr Yang but I cannot continue staying in your house any longer, I am not even a guest. I will remain back and rest but I will be in my penthouse. You can check on me if you don’t believe me."

Liam looked at her for a whole minute and once he was sure he couldn’t detect any lie on her face, he let her go.

Jane smiled but before she could leave his penthouse ,she turned around and gave a smile she can describe as the most sincere smile she has ever given to someone.

"Thank you Mr Yang, I really appreciate."

She left his penthouse and opened hers. Immediately she locked the door, She broke down completely.

She doesn’t remember the last time anyone showed her this care. Edward has never done this for her! He had always told her he loved her but right now she realized something.

He loved her because she is Jane Lu and not because she is a woman.

Jane now realised that she had been stupid all along. He never even cared when she was sick but all that while she was blinded by her love for him that she did not find it a big deal.

Now that she realized, the man seemed to be after her because she is The Jane Lu and not because she is a woman, a woman like any other who deserves love, care and attention.

But the man next door... they are merely strangers but he went out of his normal life to even cook for her. He cared about her even if they are nothing but strangers, at least that’s what she thought.

Despite the fact that they are on the same level in the business world, she knows he has slightly surpassed her and that is why she was shocked, a man who is viewed as a king by everyone cooked for her!

It might seem like a normal thing for anybody else to be taken care of but not for Jane. Ever since she moved out of her parents house, no one checks on her on regular basis, not even Edward when they were still together. Her bestfriend is always busy and rarely stays around but a stranger... that one person she views as a stranger helped her.

The man she planned to distance herself from.. he helped her!

Suddenly she stopped crying when she remembered something,

"I choose to be concerned because you are my concern..."

’How am I his concern?’Jane wondered but she did not want to dwell on it too much. Her head was already hurting, too much thinking was going to hurt her further.

The girl’s mind was so tired that she did not process Liam was indirectly telling her that he is interested in her.
