The following day, Edward arrived back at Country X only to receive a call from a strange number immediately after landing. He decided to pick up anyway.

A sweet coquettish voice was heard, "Brother Chen, this is Diana, I am back in the country. I miss you! It has been years!"

Edward was stunned for a minute before replying, "Diana, it’s been long! Maybe we should go out for a meal sometime, I have missed you too."

"Perfect!" On the other end Diana was smiling gleefully knowing she had achieved what she wanted.

"I will tell you the time and place, I cannot miss out, talk to you later, I have to prepare to take over the company."

She said as she hung up, reminding Edward that she is a perfect heiress about to take over their family business.

Edward stiffened slightly remembering Jane when he head the word business. He frowned remembering the slap but decided not to pay much attention to her. He still assumes she is just trying to make him jealous but still loves him. So delusional!

As he was heading to the Chen mansion, he scrolled through Anna’s news and realized everything was wiped clean and an apology posted. There were even people who sympathized with her.

He smiled widely knowing the woman fulfilled her promise. For him, she made sure to clean up. He decided to give her a reward. He sent her a simple text, ’I am back in the country, meet me in the evening at our usual place.’

Still going through the news he felt as if everything was too peaceful and this didn’t seat quite well with him. It was just like calm before the storm and he was indeed right.

Everything was peaceful because Jane and Rebecca wanted it to be.

After arriving at the office, Jane called her brother Ryan and informed him what she had in mind.

She did not know how accurate the results would be but she was ready to give it a shot.

She sent her most trusted elite guard, David, to deliver the specimen to Ryan and expected the results sooner.

Jane had been too much focused on Lu cooperation that she paid JL entertainment less attention. She run the company by herself since she does not trust others, after all, there are greedy and ambitious people everywhere.

As she was going through her artists information, she stopped involuntarily at a name that seemed to ring a dangerous bell.. Cynthia Xi... the Xi Family.

Since she did not want Nicole to deal with this surname, she decided to personally investigate it.

Within few minutes of breaking security walls, she was able to access information of the Xi Family. Apparently the head, John Xi had involvement with underworld gangs and he was involved in brutally killing a woman whose infirmation seems to be sealed for a reason. This sparked her interest and she was able to find the name of the woman, Emily Huang.

This name carried some familiarity but she did not bother sticking around further.

The man has two children, Cynthia and Bernard and one step child who happens to be Nicole. He had remarried Nicole’s mother after his first wife divorced him.

So these are the people who bothered Nicole before they met. Jane sighed as she saved all the information she collected about the Xis.

Looking further into Cynthia’s background, she realized the girl is one of Anna’s lackeys who depend on others for survival in the industry since her family background is not enough. She is not talented at all and she wonders how such people got in the company.

She realized she needed to double check on all her artists but of course, she will make sure to keep her enemies closer because if she is closer to Anna then that means they have harmed Rose before and can still try it.

"Cynthia Xi, looks like you were meant to cross my paths either way, be it through Nicole or Rose." Jane muttered as she looked at the girl’s information.
