Mary wasn’t the only one keenly watching Rita as she waited for the drug to take control but Ian was equally observing, though he made sure to keep his line of sight very much coordinated to prevent the crowd from knowing anything, and in fact, in just a few minutes the drug immediately started showing signs of kicking in.

Rita who was busy trying to decipher and plan immediately started feeling a little bit weird, and the more she tried observing her glass of champagne, the more she felt like something was wrong somewhere, her heart beat immediately speeding up and as if something was speaking to her, she immediately lifted her line of sight and she came face to face with Mary’s eyes, eyes that seemed to taunt and mock her, making her feel like she was about to lose control of herself.

"What!? Does she know who she’s even insulting? Oh my, she is done for and she’s a military girl. Shame on her!"

Rita was about to reply to the people, but it was as if something struck her mind and she immediately turned her attention towards Ian, her eyes carrying lust and flattery as she proceeded to walk towards him in what could be described as a failed attempt of seduction.

I wish you knew how much I’ve always dreamt of you above me, You conquering me and me conquering you, carrying your child, carrying the next name of the Mo family, you have always been everything to me, leave alone this street rat okay?"

Mary inwardness smirked the moment she heard this. Yes, this were the exact words that she wanted her to speak out so she pretended to be a little bit timid and shocked as she peeped from her husband’s shoulder and immediately voiced out, her voice seemingly coming out as sweet and gentle, but at the same time scared.

"You...you’re wicked woman!... What.. what is it that you have against my husband? What is it that you have that will make you take my husband’s power? You are so...You are..so so... Oh, Lord, help me!"

Mary pretended to be in a dilemma as she pretended that she couldn’t get her word straight, and the more Rita saw this, the more proud and powerful she felt as she couldn’t believe that the woman who had been giving her those mocking and taunting eyes would finally look like a little scared cat before her.

Once again, both Mary and Ian couldn’t help but smirk, because they knew whatever was inside that drink was going to make this lady spill the truth, and they just wanted to deal with her once and for all and before a whole crowd of powerful socialites, what more than to use this opportunity?

"Well said, Well said..."

Mary clapped her hands as she walked step by step, steps that seemed to be that of a predator stalking its prey as she approached Rita, the girl who felt like she was stuck and couldn’t even move. but the more she maintained eye contact with Mary, the more she felt her breath shortening.
