Chapter 21: Divorce papers

If looks could kill, Jonathan could be 6 feet under.

Jane went and sat on her executive seat. "If you are done staring at me Mr Jonathan please leave my office." Her voice rang out.

"I came to ask you to please tell me where Becca is, she sent me divorce papers which are already signed on her part! I have not seen her for 2 years and right now I do not even know where my daughter Rose stays, please tell me where they are." Jonathan was angry being treated in such a manner but he had to humble himself, the girl before him was no ordinary girl!"

"I don’t know where Aunt Rebecca is and as for Rose, forget about her, you have never bothered to check up on her. Leave before I decide to take action, things won’t be good for you." Jane said as she focused on her laptop.

Before Jonathan could continue, Nicole cane in, "President, Miss Chloe is here."

Jane nodded and in came a beautiful woman dressed in a fitting green pencil dress that was just above her knees and a pair of black stilletos. Her curled chocolate brown hair was cascading down her shoulders freely. Her blue eyes seemed to carry an excitement Jane couldn’t understand.

"Mr Jonathan if you will excuse us." Jane said pointing at the door. Jonathan turned and left but not without giving her a glare.

"Please have a seat Miss Chloe." She pointed at one of the seats and Chloe immediately complied.

"I know this appointment was quick and unexpected but umm..my company is planning a new launching and we need a special guest. You are at the top of the business world, women admire you. I feel you are a better choice. I will be glad if you can consider my invitation " Chloe completed in one breath.

Honesty she had to come up with an excuse and her excuse seemed stupid, she wondered if Jane would see through her, she just wanted to see her future sister-in-law!

Jane felt something was not right but couldn’t exactly tell what it is. The woman before her seemed to be excited for a reason she doesn’t get. She seemed different from that perverted brother of hers.

If she was to give an opinion about the lady before her, she would say she admires her. It is very rare for young mistresses not to act spoilt and arrogant but the lady before her acts nothing like that. She has heard stories about Chloe Yang before.

A lady who struggled and made her own company without depending on her brother and family. Today, Chloe cosmetics is the largest cosmetic Company in the country.

Usually, she would just ignore such invitations but the girl before her gave her some ’Rose vibes’. She couldn’t bring herself to say no to her. She doesn’t understand why she feels comfortable with her request.

"It is ok Miss Chloe, you can communicate the date to my assignment earlier so that she can free my schedule." Jane replied to her calmly.

Happiness is all Chloe felt! She accepted her excuse but wait, isn’t it known that CEO Lu rarely accepts invites? Who cares anyway she got what she wanted. She happily bid Jane goodbye and this time, she could not bother to hide her happiness this time round. Jane looked at her and inwardly sighed, "Definitely Rose vibe!"

A knock was heard on the door and Nicole came in, "Excuse me President, there seems to be a leak in the financial department. Here is the file."

Jane took the file and went through it as her eyes turned cold with each and every information she read. "Call the head of the department now!"

Her angry voice instructed Nicole. She couldn’t dare stay a second longer!

Minutes later, there was a knock and in came a man who seemed to be in his forties. He was clearly trembling and his palms seemed sweaty.

"Mr John, you know I don’t beat around the bush. Why is there an embezzlement in the financial department? If you are planning to lie, you better cut off that idea immediately."

Her voice was surprisingly calm but it carried dangerous warning and only a fool will ignore it.

"I.. I.. Miss Lu... it was not my idea... somebody sent me any anonymous email, together with the amount of... " Before he could finish, Jane cut him off, "What was the content of the e-mail?

"The person required me to take out some funds from the department, make sure that the money we get from the malls and hotels seems Lower than it should be...." He was interrupted by Jane once again

"Stop it right there Mr John, hand in the account you received money from immediately."

An evil smile was plastered on her face as she ordered him. Mr John did not dare delay and offend this demon further. Compared to whoever sent him the email, She is to be feared! He even wondered why he accepted the deal!

"And now for your punishment, go collect your salary and leave my company! Out of my office now!"

’It is over... it is over.... I am done for good! How will explain this to my family?’ The man was on his knees as his whole body was sweating but what he heard next shattered him completely. "Ohh and I will make sure no company hires you. Leave my office."

Jane told him calmly and he hated how calm she sounded saying such a serious thing!
