Chapter 183: Trust me
Chapter 183: Trust me
Just like any other person in Country X, the two arrived at their first destination, the supermarket. The moment the car parked outside, they had already attracted a crowd due to the amount of money the car screamed.
"Look! Mr and Mrs Mo!" Someone screamed as the rest of the people turned heads just to catch a glimpse of them only to see them get out of the car without any visible security and into the supermarket as they replied to greetings along the way.
"We have alot to buy Ian..your house is typically empty!" The girl cutely pouted making Ian chuckle as he snaked his hands around her waist. It was evident that alot of people were passing around just to catch a glimpse of the cute couple and everyone who saw them left the place with blushing faces because of the amount of public display of affection they were both displaying.
If only Ian knew the girl’s concentration wasn’t grocery shopping in the first place and that she had other plans. Mary made sure to speed up the shopping of their household items as she wanted to get to shop for other things. Being the gentlman he was, Ian paid for the items which turned out super expensive but still affordable considering the fact that his house did not have anything.
"I need some clothes husb..." Mary did not finish her statement when the reporters surrounded them the moment they got out of the supermarket, with the attendants helping them to carry the items.
"Mr Mo! Please consider answering to the latest rumour involving you." One reporter immediately asked before the couple could disperse them making Ian pull Mary closer to him to protect her from the crowd. "First of all, move further all of you because if my wife gets hurt..." That was Ian’s first statement which kind of scared the reporters and to them, they felt like it was a hint because they were not supposed to crowd a pregnant lady.
"Sorry General Mo!" They collectively answered as they moved back and Ian was about to spill the truth to the Media, after giving Mary an apologetic look, assuming she did not know what was up but before he could speak, Mary bet him at it but with a complete different answer. "To answer your question, I believe everyone gets involved in rumours at some point where people come up with conclusions but in my case, all I ask is for privacy and respect of our boundaries and let us just let nature take it’s course. Good day!"
Immediately she said this, she instructed the attendants where to put the items as she pulled her confused husband alongside leaving an equally confused crowd and in a few minutes to come, a confused nation all together. "Wifey...?" Ian asked looking confused and guilty at the same time the moment they got into the car. Mary could read all his thoughts and emotions making her laugh slightly. "Just don’t think much about it and trust me." She replied alongside a gentle smile which did it’s work perfectly as the man immediately relaxed and drove away.
"They are gone? They are gone!" The reporters were finally getting back to their normal senses as each of them tried interpreting Mary’s words, some thinking that she really was pregnant while others thinking that she was not but just as she said, they had to respect her and wait for months to see whether there is a belly or not.
"You realize this is the first time I cannot read your thoughts Wifey." Ian said as they drove to the mall as per her request. "I must be proud in that case hubby.." She replied back wearing a cheeky smile which convinced Ian that she was upto something but he couldn’t exactly tell what it was.
They both arrived at the shopping mall where they were immediately welcomed as they headed to the clothing section. They both arrived where the clothes screamed luxury as different attendants gave them different looks. Mary did a quick analysis of them before picking an attendant she felt comfortable with. "Take me to the lingerie section." She whispered to the attendant before instructing Ian to wait for a second.
The man agreed to his wife’s request but suddenly, a couple came in and passed right by him as they laughed together and what attracted the man’s attention at first glance was the ring on the woman’s finger. His eyes widened when he realized he had forgotten about their wedding rings! He awkwardly coughed as he called for one attendant to call for the manager.
The manager came rushing the moment he heard the general was present and was asking for him. "Good day General Mo!" He respectfully bowed down as he greeted him, with Ian replying back. "Give me the best wedding rings, especially one that would look beautiful on my wife."He stated his purpose immediately as he watched out for Mary and the manager nodded excitedly as he led him to the waiting room.
