The Undercover Heir is Actually Tycoon's Secret Girlfriend -
Chapter 26: Supreme
Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Supreme
The young man put down his pen and turned around gracefully. His slightly disheveled hair hung across his forehead, hinting at a lazy indifference. Yet, his strikingly beautiful brow and eyes made people want to shatter that cold demeanor, though no one dared to move.
It was because of the wickedness in his eyes and the rebelliousness in his bones that made them feel a chill at the mere thought.
The Buddha beads on his wrist added to his cold and distant aura.
The classroom below burst open with chatter, disregarding Yu Nian on stage, as everyone leaned in to whisper.
"Wearing Buddha beads, is he a believer?"
"With such a fierce presence, Buddha? Nah, probably just wearing them for fun."
"Why are you all focused on a bracelet? Just look at that face, it’s making my knees weak."
"The face doesn’t matter, look at the hands, the hands!! These hands are so perfect I could kiss them forever. Hand lovers are rather pleased!"
Everyone had different points of interest; girls were focused on his hands, face, and physique, while the boys felt an overwhelming sense of threat and urgency.
Yu Nian raised a hand to calm them down, indicating them to be quiet.
Glancing around the classroom, she casually pointed to the last empty seat in the fourth group and said lightly, "Rong, you can sit there for now. We’ll adjust seating once the mid-term results are out."
Rong Zhi nodded and stepped down from the podium.
The last seat in the fourth group was solitary, without a desk mate. The desk was centered with a window on its left side, overlooking the school playground.
Sunlight poured in, bathing the desk in a golden hue.
Seeing Rong Zhi seated comfortably, Yu Nian narrowed her eyes with satisfaction and spoke a few more words before handing the class over to the physics teacher.
Rong Zhi placed the book on the desk, randomly flipped open his physics textbook, stuffed his single-strap bag into the drawer, then leaned on his chin slightly squinting at the podium.
Casually making eye contact with the physics teacher: "..."
He mentally recited that she’s married, she’s married, over and over.
The new student in Class 2 is just too handsome! Where did Yu find this gem!
...
The bell announced the end of class, and Zhou Zhongming packed up his teaching tools to leave the classroom, only to be stopped after a few steps.
"Mr. Zhou."
Zhou Zhongming turned around, seeing his student Rong Meng, his impatient expression quickly dissipated, replaced by a pleasant one, "Rong Meng, what can I do for you?"
Rong Meng smiled mildly and asked softly, "I heard the teacher was invigilating the entrance exam of the Senior Year Three today. How did that person do?"
Zhou Zhongming’s demeanor stiffened slightly, "Just so-so."
"Did he not do well?"
Zhou Zhongming was puzzled by Rong Meng’s concern about Rong Zhi, frowned, and sneered, "The papers weren’t graded yet, so how could we say he did or didn’t do well."
Rong Meng’s smile constricted, a bit taken aback, "...Unmarked? Did he not write, or..."
"He wrote," mentioning Rong Zhi made Zhou Zhongming impatient, "But what he wrote was a mess, no need to grade it, they’re just going through the motions. His results don’t matter anyway."
The sarcasm in his tone was unmistakable.
"Speaking of which," he paused, eyes showing confusion, "His surname is Rong, part of the Rong Family, as are you, you two..."
"Yes," Rong Meng lowered her eyes, biting her lip with difficulty, "The Rong Zhi who came today for the entrance exam is my recently-returned younger brother."
"He mentioned wanting to take the test earlier, and I even thought about giving him tutoring because Dad, Mom, and I all wish he’d do well and get into First High."
Rong Meng shook her head, stepped back, and bowed slightly to Zhou Zhongming, "But I didn’t expect him to cause trouble for you, I apologize on his behalf."
Her voice was gentle and full of apology, as strands of soft hair brushed over her delicate face, making her appear vulnerable and heartbreaking.
Rong Meng was a top student known for her good family background. Hearing she had ties to Rong Zhi, Zhou Zhongming suddenly understood why she was embarrassed.
If he had such a rogue brother, he’d want to break his leg, let alone show such concern like Rong Meng did.
Zhou Zhongming gently supported Rong Meng upright, withdrawing his hand with a solemn expression, "It’s not your fault; no need to apologize. Rong Zhi is just being unruly, he even showed up late for the exam this morning!"
Caught off guard, Rong Meng’s eyes filled with bewilderment, "Late, late?"
She seemed genuinely worried for her brother and quickly asked, "Is he alright? Is he still at school?"
Zhou Zhongming pressed his lips, "Yes, Director Yao personally intervened to keep him here; initially wanted him in Class 1, but I refused."
Hearing Zhou Zhongming blocked Rong Zhi from joining Class 1, Rong Meng’s lips curled with a slight mocking smile.
She lowered her head, musing aloud in distress, "Without Class 1... where can he go; how do I explain to Dad and Mom..."
Zhou Zhongming sighed, trying not to upset her, "Likely to be in Class 16, anyway, it’s Rong Zhi’s own fault, you don’t have to hide it, just tell your parents directly."
Senior Class 16 was the worst class in First High with perpetually bottom-of-the-barrel grades.
"And you too, best to keep your distance from him at school, don’t let him affect your studies."
Rong Meng nodded subtly, her voice lacking its previous sweetness, "Thank you, teacher, I understand."
Zhou Zhongming acknowledged and walked away.
Behind him.
Rong Meng moved her hair aside, her eyes narrowing, devoid of any hesitation, deeply mocking.
...
During break, Senior Class 2 was much noisier than the adjacent Class 3.
Rong Zhi slowly spun his pen while writing down the assignments given by the physics teacher.
The sun climbed high, its light streaming through and stinging the eyes.
"Swish—"
The curtains abruptly drew close, erasing the glaring light. Rong Zhi squinted his eyes slightly and thanked the girl in front who had drawn the curtains.
The slightly hoarse tone was unmistakably seductive.
The girl replied awkwardly, "No... no need for thanks."
Rong Zhi looked down, sparsely filling in answers to the exercise questions before deciding enough had been done to pass.
His body leaned back against the chair, eyes half-closed, feeling a bit sleepy.
Raising a hand to rub his brow, he shut his eyes for a quick nap.
After the morning dismissal, Rong Zhi packed up his things and stood, scrolling through the class schedule that Yu Nian sent on his phone as he walked.
After reviewing, she exited back to the chat screen, where she was asking Yu Nian for leave.
Little Teacher: [Does Rong have something urgent for leave? I won’t see Rong this afternoon, sad (wilted rose.jpg)]
Rong Zhi focused on the image of the rose with its petals dropping, strangely sensing Yu Nian’s frustration from the emoji.
He slowly replied: [Yes, urgent matter, I’ll be back for class once I’m done]
Little Teacher: [Alright, Rong, good luck! (encouragement and confetti.jpg)]
Rong Zhi reached the school gate, turning off his phone randomly as he flagged down a car.
Arriving at the First People’s Hospital, Fu Yaoyao had been waiting inside the ward.
"Senior." She greeted Rong Zhi with a sweet smile upon his entrance.
On the bed, Rong Jiazze greeted him using sign language: ’Brother’s here.’
Rong Zhi gently ruffled the boy’s crisp short hair, eyes lowered, voice softly asked, "Afraid?"
They finalized the treatment plan for his voice the day before, and today’s acupuncture therapy was naturally his responsibility.
The boy looked up, shaking his head with determined eyes.
He isn’t afraid.
Whatever brother wants to do with him, he doesn’t fear.
Rong Zhi’s lips lifted slightly as he retrieved two fabric bags with yellowing edges from his backpack, prompting Fu Yaoyao to wave a hand playfully near Rong Jiazze’s nose.
She chuckled lightly, "Sleep now, little one~"
