Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Haha, You’re Raising Flowers?

Ignatius Leclair didn’t like children, especially his half-brother. Over the past couple of days, whenever he saw Delphine Carter, he observed that this woman was skilled at glossing over conflicts. She was repressed and displayed self-destructive tendencies. Previously, she had only played the role of someone with a dual personality and had gotten stuck in a gray emotional state she couldn’t escape from.

Ignatius took it upon himself to forcibly drag her out of it over the course of two days and nights. With no time to spare and no room for indulgence in her own melancholy, the high-pressure tactics had done their part. Now it was time for a softer approach.

In this world, Delphine’s most cherished person was likely the little one standing right in front of her.

Ignatius watched coldly, his lips curling into a sneer. This pair—one big and one small—neither of them had practical use. The big one might look good, but that was about it. The small one was even less useful.

Housekeeper Li answered a call, then walked over and spoke quietly, "The old madam just called and asked if you were the one who took young master Isaac away. The people back at the mansion are losing their minds; they’ve even been calling the Howard Family for answers."

Ignatius let out an icy laugh, a flash of deep emerald glimmering in his eyes. He’d only just taken the kid, and now they were already in such a panic. If he had intended to harm the child, would he really have waited until today?

Ignatius snorted faintly, accepting the information but offering no indication of when the boy would be returned.

The housekeeper sighed deeply. Here at Emerald Lake, the people from the mansion couldn’t get through, but if things got chaotic outside, it wouldn’t be peaceful either. "Why put yourself through this, young master?" she murmured.

Ignatius went upstairs alone.

Delphine took a glance at the fresh-faced boy standing before her, his features exquisite and full of youthful vibrancy. She extended her hand with a smile. "Isaac, let me take you on a tour."

Youths were by nature playful, especially when in unfamiliar places.

Isaac cheered loudly and gleefully took Delphine’s hand. Together, they roamed from the living room to the estate’s collection room, and then onward to the garden.

The garden at Emerald Lake was located right in the center of the villa’s collection room, an open-air courtyard. It was expansive, encased within towering three-story-high glass walls. The garden was interspersed with deep green channels that divided the grounds. Rare botanical specimens thrived everywhere, their vibrant blooms competing for attention, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle.

"Sis, look at this dark green flower—it’s so beautiful! But it’s missing a name tag," Isaac exclaimed, crouching beside a cluster of extraordinarily stunning deep green blossoms, his eyes sparkling.

Delphine quickly snapped a picture of the flower and sent it to Jason.

Jason, who had been reveling in leisure these days, nearly out of control, would occasionally post pictures of Delphine’s film set during her month-long shoot with Kyla Zamora. Seeing her message pop up on his app, he opened it to find the photo. Instantly, he exclaimed, "Wow, what is this flower? It’s unbelievably intricate and gorgeous!" Without hesitation, he replied with a string of ellipses.

Delphine: "Help me find out what flower this is."

Jason: "..."

Within moments, Jason uploaded the photo to his own social media account and tagged several prominent figures in the botanical world: "Does anyone know what kind of flower this is? Please advise." He added a stoic-looking emoji.

The internet erupted in response.

"It’s been so long since we’ve heard anything about Delphine, and here you are, playing with flowers at home!!!"

"When’s her new drama—already wrapped up—going to air?"

"Ha! You’re here, just gardening!"

The comment saying "Ha! You’re here, just gardening!" was pushed to the top, and Jason grimaced as he faced the merciless teasing from fans who dubbed themselves "the wild greens." With tears streaming down his face, he groaned inwardly: I’m not the one gardening—it’s your idol who’s messing with flowers! Wait, no, seriously, what *is* this flower?

While the fans were busy blowing up the comments section, the long-awaited experts from the botanical world finally made their appearance—only to fall silent.

Expert 1: "Dark green flowers are exceedingly rare in nature. This one is bowl-shaped, layered, almost like a camellia?"

Expert 2: "Dear poster, for the love of all flowers, please don’t step on the gold camellia beside it."

Expert 3: "Holy crap, that really *is* a gold camellia. A gold camellia of this height and quality? On the market, it could be worth tens of thousands per plant—and that’s if you can even find it for sale."

Jason: "..."
