Chapter 182: Chapter 182
It was like a stone dropping into water—after a deathly silence, the livestream exploded.
"Holy crap, I just heard a man’s voice!"
"What the actual heck, the voice is so sexy and totally boss-like!"
"Ahhhhhhh, my inner romantic is bursting with pink bubbles. Who is this man?!"
"Get down, get down, get down, get down."
The chat was flooded with viewers furiously spamming "Get down."
Soon, the chat was also overrun with cries of "The man!"
During the livestream, a godlike, low and seductive male voice had broken in—full of dominance and charisma. The fans had already started imagining countless scenarios. Their idol, beautiful, delicate, and easy to push over, paired with someone this assertive and commanding—the mental pictures were too much.
The fangirls blushed red and covered their faces in shyness.
The fanboys instantly felt the sting of heartbreak—done for, not even a battle of voices could save them.
He. Was. Broken. Up. With.
In the middle of the livestream chaos, Delphine abandoned the last pomegranate. Standing high on the tree, she watched Ignatius Leclair storm in through the main entrance with a dark expression, and she clutched the bamboo basket tightly in fear.
Kyla Zamora was already utterly hopeless. Why in the world had Mr. Leclair come back all of a sudden?
The manager decisively killed the feed. Ha, if they showed Mr. Leclair’s face on camera, this wouldn’t just dominate the entertainment pages—it’d be straight-up comet-collision level news!
In the now blacked-out livestream, the fans saw the notification that the streamer wasn’t home, and the chat exploded once more.
Ignatius Leclair strode over to the pomegranate tree, cast a cold glance at Kyla as she bolted with the camera, and then tightened his lips. Looking up at Delphine still perched in the tree, he said in a deep voice, "Get down."
His tone was even lower than the first time.
Delphine watched Sister Kyla flee for her life—ignoring her calls to stay—and slumped her shoulders in defeat. Trying to appease him, she said cautiously, "Why are you back?"
The vein on Ignatius’s forehead was about to burst. He could hardly resist the urge to drag her down from the tree, haul her into his arms, and give her backside a good spanking.
Today she climbed a tree; tomorrow she’d probably be shimmying onto rooftops.
And to think he initially thought this woman was obedient and sweet!
Delphine, seeing his dark, stormy expression and the icy sharpness in his eyes, didn’t dare say more. She immediately crouched and prepared to slide down from the tree.
Just as she lowered one foot, his strong and muscular arms caught her, and with a dizzying whirl, she was already pulled off the tree.
Ignatius Leclair didn’t let go after catching her. He pinned her under the pomegranate tree and squinted at the basket of pomegranates in her arms. His lips pressed together as he said darkly, "If you’ve got so much energy to climb trees, you won’t need sleep tonight."
Delphine’s face went pale, her ears burning red. She shoved the entire basket of pomegranates into his hands and gritted her teeth, saying, "Picked them for you."
With that, she took advantage of his slight moment of hesitation, pushed him away with all her strength, and dashed into the side hall like she was being chased by a tiger—nearly crashing into the old butler in her rush.
"Miss Delphine, watch your step, don’t fall," said the old butler with a kindly smile. Glancing out into the courtyard, he noticed the cold and handsome young master holding a basket of pomegranates under the tree—a bizarre scene if ever there was one.
The old man shook his head and chuckled, "Ah, youngsters these days sure know how to have fun."
Ignatius Leclair looked at the forcibly bestowed basket of pomegranates, then at the easel nearby. His lips curled upward slightly as he walked into the side hall, handed the basket to the old butler, and issued a low and satisfied command: "For dinner, pomegranates."
