Chapter 176: Chapter 176: Don’t Scare the Child

Delphine didn’t know what Ignatius Leclair had done. She only saw a three-dimensional route map quickly pop up on the dashboard, with several red dots blinking continuously.

Ignatius explained in a low voice, "Prominent families place great importance on their heirs. Each child has a tracking system embedded in them, and the Leclair Family is no exception. Isaac also has one."

Delphine was startled, her taut nerves finally easing. Her palms were damp with sweat as she asked uncertainly, "So, you knew Isaac’s location from the very start?"

Ignatius took her cold hands in his, navigating through the virtual map and pointing to one of the red dots moving steadily. He said, "Maximilian is almost on him now."

"The person who kidnapped Isaac isn’t ordinary, and their methods are bound to be different. Maximilian is investigating the kidnapper’s identity, while my team is heading to the location to ambush them. There will be no mistakes," the man assured her in a stable, imposing voice.

"The tracking system in Isaac’s body is something Madam Gu is well aware of. If she were to call the Leclair estate, we could identify Isaac’s location immediately. Yet, she said nothing, causing a scene with someone at the mall instead. This shows she doesn’t want us to find out."

It was clear she didn’t want the Leclair Family to know. The person who kidnapped Isaac must be someone she knows. Thinking back on the recent events involving Madam Gu, the answer was blatantly obvious.

Hearing Ignatius’s analysis, Delphine’s heart sank. Just then, Maximilian had already uncovered the details and came to report.

"Mr. Leclair, the kidnapper acted on impulse. It’s just one person. Should we directly subdue them?" Maximilian’s voice came through the communication device, suppressed into a whisper.

Ignatius noticed Isaac’s location had stopped in a residential building. The kidnapper hadn’t even figured out the tracking system on the child, indicating it wasn’t a well-planned operation.

"Hmm, don’t frighten the child," Ignatius said heavily.

By the time Ignatius drove to the residential building, Maximilian and Dongzi had already brought Madam Gu there. They didn’t go upstairs and were waiting at the foot of the building.

As soon as Delphine got out of the car, Madam Gu ran up to her, clutching her hand in desperation and babbling incoherently through her sobs, "Delphine, you have to save me. If your Uncle Leclair finds out, he’ll kill me."

"He’s blackmailing me, asking for ten million, or he’ll expose things from my past. Delphine, you must help Mommy."

Ignatius stood nearby, his cold, handsome features twisting slightly with disdain. He stepped forward and pulled Delphine away, not even sparing Madam Gu a glance. Bowing his head slightly toward Delphine, he said, "Stay here. Don’t go upstairs and sully yourself. I’ll have Maximilian bring Isaac down."

Delphine nodded, her face pale and her heart heavy. So it was indeed someone her mother knew who had kidnapped Isaac. Yet, caught in her own scandal, she didn’t dare contact the police.

She spoke, her voice sharp and detached as she said, "Mother, Stone Leclair has long been aware of your affairs. Do you think you can return to the Leclair estate? If anything happens to Isaac, do you think the Leclair Family would ever forgive you?"

Isaac was a child of the Leclair Family, and that much would never change.

Madam Gu seemed to awaken from a dream, collapsing to the ground. Her vacant eyes stared at Delphine as she released a crazed laugh, shaking her head and muttering under her breath, "You’re lying to me. I’ll go back. I am Mrs. Leclair."

One look from Ignatius sent Dongzi over to lift Madam Gu off the ground and lead her upstairs.

Soon after, Maximilian came back down with Isaac. Isaac, unaware he’d been kidnapped by someone he knew as "Uncle," was sitting atop a tall, dark man’s shoulders, laughing gleefully.

Delphine stepped forward and took him into her arms. Her eyes reddened as she stroked his little head, choking on her words, "Isaac, Sister is taking you home."
