Chapter 64 - 64: Counterattack Strategy (1)

Mia Ginger stared fixedly at her.

Suddenly, she laughed.

"I didn't take it," she slightly lowered her eyes, her long, thick lashes drooping, and the smile at the corner of her lips carried a trace of bitterness and helplessness, "Mom, I didn't take your bracelet."

"Yes, mom." Zuri Ginger chimed in to comfort, "Mia probably isn't that kind of person. If she needed money, she could just tell you. There's no need to steal."

"Who knows..."

Charlotte Chester's voice abruptly stopped. She looked at Mia and her tone softened a bit, "Fine, if you didn't take it, you didn't take it. I wasn't insisting it was you, just checking the bag. Be good."

"Heh."

Mia was amused, "Do you mean to say the bracelet grew legs and flew into my bag?"

"You child!"

Charlotte turned her head to glance at Aiden Jiang, too upset to speak.

The room fell silent.

"Dad, what do you think?" Mia raised her eyes to look at Aiden Jiang, who had been silent all along.

Aiden Jiang waved his hand and laughed, "The child said she didn't take it, so she didn't. Why are you being so aggressive? If it's lost, just buy another one, what's there to fuss about?"

"Little Miller already said." Charlotte muttered.

Aiden's face didn't look good either, and he turned his head to glare at her.

Mia's hand at her side began to tremble slightly; she subconsciously clenched it, her gaze fixedly on Aiden Jiang, and she said, "Dad, do you believe me?"

Aiden was taken aback and said in a gentler tone, "You're already home, you can talk to Dad about anything, okay?"

"Do you believe me?" Mia pressed her fingertips into her palm, "Yes or no, one word or two words, is it hard?"

"Mia." Aiden Jiang was pushed to the edge by her questioning, his expression darkened slightly.

Mia couldn't help but laugh.

Her gaze shifted from Zuri Ginger's leisurely expression, then swept across Amelia Miller who stood with lips pursed, and finally, rested on Bob Ginger who appeared in a daze.

"Bob Ginger." She had never spoken so calmly to this brother before, looking at him now, her eyes seemed to glisten with tears.

Bob Ginger suddenly felt uncomfortable.

Seeing her bright, sparkling eyes, he felt a bit restless.

"Bob," Mia called softly again, a rare gentle smile gracing her lips, slowly, word by word, she asked, "Don't you have anything to say?"

Bob's fingers at his side clenched into a fist, and he looked away.

"Ha, haha!" Mia laughed until tears burst out, she didn't say a word, picked up her bag, pulled the zipper, and turned it over.

All the contents of the bag fell out with a clatter.

A mess sprawled across the table.

"Is it here?" Mia straightened her body, her thin shoulders trembling with anger, staring at the dumbfounded Charlotte, she shouted, "Is your jade bracelet here? Mom, open your eyes and see."

"You!" Charlotte swiftly glanced and was about to speak as she looked up at Mia, but suddenly stopped, her gaze stuck behind Mia.

It seemed just as Mia pulled open the bag, Koa Jackson had walked in.

Charlotte's expression became exceedingly ugly, and beside her, Aiden Jiang appeared full of regret as he hurried to his feet, "Pack it up, pack it all up, what's this look like!"

"Am I a thief?" Mia exhaled heavily, looking down at Zuri with eyes burning an alarming red, and asked deliberately, "Did I steal? Did I take mom's bracelet?"

Zuri didn't speak, quickly scanning the laptop bag.

Mia bent down again to reach for the zipper.

"Mia." Koa Jackson grasped her arm from behind.
