Chapter 738: Chapter 308: Connect With the Behemoth_3
After taking the photo, Lin Yang gently pushed the Big Catfish back into the river. The Big Catfish rested for a moment, regained its composure, and then, with a flick of its tail, it swam away into the small river and gradually disappeared into the water.
"Wow, I want to try catching a big fish too!"
Half the day had passed without a single big fish caught, and Li Xiaopeng started to feel a little anxious. He cast his line in the direction the Big Catfish had taken off.
Lin Yang just smiled slightly, relinquished the small river channel to him, and moved to the opposite side of the large river to cast his bait into the water with a ’whoosh.’
"Hey! Here it comes!"
No sooner had Li Xiaopeng cast his bait than a bite was signaled on his fishing rod, and he immediately became excited.
Not long after, Lin Yang’s fishing rod also transmitted a heavy biting signal.
"Whoosh!"
He set the hook, and it was on!
Huh? Why isn’t it moving?
As Lin Yang lifted his fishing rod, it dramatically bent, but no signals came through; it was eerily silent. Was it possible he’d hooked the earth itself?
But that last bite had been ferociously strong.
Of course, it was also possible that the big fish had ’planted’ itself.
’Planting’: This refers to a hooked big fish embedding itself in the ground like a stake, remaining immobile, which can easily be mistaken by an angler for snagging the bottom. It mostly occurs with large freshwater fish.
Pulling to the left, tugging to the right, and applying tension like plucking cotton, the fishing line remained staunchly pointed in one direction without any change.
While Lin Yang was trying to figure out if he was snagged, Li Xiaopeng had already reeled in the fish that took his bait.
"Eh... A Small Calami."
It was a catfish that weighed a few pounds, which made Li Xiaopeng, who had caught many large fish, quite dismissive, and he threw it back into the river without a second thought.
"Hey, cousin, have you hooked the earth?"
Turning around, he saw Lin Yang fiddling with the fishing line.
"It seems so, and yet it doesn’t. There was a bite initially, but it all went quiet as soon as I set the hook; I can’t pull it either. I’ll fiddle with it a bit more, and if there’s no helping it, I’ll just have to pull it out forcefully."
"Oh ..."
After waiting a short while with no movement from the fishing line, Lin Yang had to lay the fishing rod flat in a straight line with the line and was about to pull back forcefully when the rod suddenly moved!
An enormous force suddenly struck, attempting to pull outwards.
"Damn."
It really was a big fish ’planting’ itself, and it had quite the endurance.
But since it had shown its ’claws,’ it was time for it to face the consequences!
Half an hour later, a massive round shadow appeared in the murky river, its body twisting, slapping the water with loud smacks.
"Is that a Devil Fish?"
Just as Li Xiaopeng, who had again caught a Small Calami and was about to change his bait, turned his head and saw Lin Yang had caught another behemoth.
"It looks like it, doesn’t it?"
As Lin Yang pulled and observed the fish in the river, it appeared roughly the shape of a Ray Fish, complete with a slender tail that also had a spike on it.
Seeing that spike, he immediately tensed up; that thing was probably poisonous, and he would need to be cautious when handling the fish.
Fortunately, the fish wasn’t very large. Lin Yang set down the fishing rod and, holding the line in his hand, reached towards the large fish in the water. He pinched its two nostrils with one hand and grabbed the poisonous tail with the other, pulling it up forcefully out of the water.
"Successfully caught a giant Yellow Stingray ...."
The giant Yellow Stingray really was quite large, but no matter how Lin Yang looked at it, it seemed to him to be nothing more than a Ray Fish that had wandered from the sea to the freshwater.
Considering that the creature was likely venomous, Lin Yang didn’t dare let others touch it. After taking the photo, he released it back into the river.
After all, the saying ’first the Ray, then the Tiger, then the Bull Shark’ wasn’t just a joke.
