Chapter 493: Chapter 227: Power Winch On_2
"Okay, we’ll do as you said, they arrived early, they might have already laid down fish blocks, we need to hurry."
"Although I don’t advocate competing with them for the fish, they have indeed gone too far. I know this sea area better than anyone, come on, let’s change spots!"
The captain called out and immediately started the fishing boat, turned the helm to the left, adjusted the direction, and set out.
Captain Harry wasn’t boasting; while navigating, he corrected the position and direction according to the previously detected fault coordinates and about 15 minutes later, he dropped the anchor less than a kilometer away.
With the spot marked, no more chit-chat; he immediately began baiting the fish.
Today’s fish sauce didn’t need to be made on the spot; Captain Harry used a grinder at home and prepared three big boxes. When boarding, everyone helped lift them onto the ship, weighing a total of two to three hundred pounds.
The fish sauce was moved to the front of the boat and then he started baiting with a large spoon, dropping a whole box in without even thinking about it.
While baiting, Yue’er started her live stream, and soon some special followers clicked in.
"Good morning, host, how did the big bluefin turn out yesterday? There was no follow-up after it was brought ashore."
"Are you baiting directly? I remember you had to fish for bait fish first yesterday, did you skip that step today?"
Lin Yang glanced at the barrage: "Good morning, everyone. We didn’t take a detour for bait fish today, so we arrived a bit earlier than yesterday. We just dropped the anchor and started the baiting preparation.
Yesterday’s bluefin tuna was sold to a seafood company after landing. They don’t allow filming, so there’s no footage, just know it weighed 867 pounds and was of good quality.
However, that’s not the focus. There’s something I need to explain to everyone. Yesterday’s big fish attracted a lot of local anglers’ attention. So we came early this morning and found three boats occupying our spot, including one African American guy who had a bit of a conflict with me during the last giant grouper competition.
But they don’t know I was the one who caught the big fish. Today they’ve challenged me to a competition, the loser has to apologize on the World Fishing Association forum, and live stream kissing a donkey ass, which I accepted. So, today our task is heavy, and the pressure is a bit high...."
"Damn, this Black dude is so arrogant, taking on the host is like seeking death, does he have some special fetish for donkey ass?"
"Haha, no need to be polite with such jerks, just beat them and that’s it."
"It seems fishermen overseas behave just like those here. When they hear about a good fishing spot with fish, they rush to occupy it beforehand too."
Lin Yang briefly explained the situation in just a few words, and the rhythm of the live stream picked up with everyone uniformly cheering Lin Yang on and feeling extremely confident in his performance today.
"Yesterday’s practice proved that our newly mastered baiting method is quite advanced, and I have a feeling we can still handle a big one today. Don’t go anywhere, guys. Let’s put on a show and watch little Blacky kissing a donkey ass." While speaking, Lin Yang scooped another big clump of fish sauce and tossed it into the water.
The morning was just the right temperature; the window period when fish are most active. The scattered fish sauce entered the water and quickly formed a misty trail. North Carolina’s waters are very cold this season, with virtually no shark activity, so there was no worry about sharks getting agitated by the bloodiness.
In just over 10 minutes, herring schools could already be vaguely seen moving in the upper layers of the water.
Seeing this, Lin Yang took out his light rod for fishing herring.
The first cast with the treble hook quickly caught fish, each one over half a pound, plump and strong, still vigorously flipping even when pulled onto the boat.
In just over 10 minutes, Lin Yang had prepared enough bait fish for today, obviously bigger than those from shallower reef areas.
With the bait fish ready, next up was preparing the fishing rig.
Captain Harry walked out of the equipment room carrying a giant electric fishing reel that looked bigger than a human head, along with a frighteningly thick boat fishing rod. With Zhang Lin’s help, he installed it onto the firmly fixed clamps at the ship’s side, pulling out a separate wire from the cabin and plugging it into the socket at the bottom of the reel to power the motor.
"Everybody, take a look at this. Today we switched to more powerful fishing equipment. The physical effort was too severe, so we went straight for the ship-use heavy-duty electric reel, added with an R-max boat fishing rod. Oh, and a 500-pound custom nylon fishing line."
Lin Yang’s camera swept over the equipment one by one. Seeing the exaggerated fishing reel, the folks in the live stream went crazy.
"Woah, isn’t that too big? Is this for whale fishing? What exactly does the host plan to do today?"
"So big, even the line dispenser and line cup are almost bigger than my face."
"That fishing rod is so thick, almost the thickness of a child’s arm, can it really bend when catching a fish?"
Lin Yang: "I can’t say much about your questions. Our goal today is a giant bluefin tuna of over 1000 pounds. If we catch one, we’ll see how the equipment performs. It’s also my first time seeing such a giant fishing rod."
Captain Harry started preparing the kite fishing rig. Our bait fishing rig will follow and go into the water soon. Just be patient."
Soon, the kite fishing rig took to the air. The battle for today had officially commenced.
Now, early in the morning, the sea breeze was only about force two or three, and the kite fluttered weakly at low altitude, seemingly lacking strength.
