Chapter 428: Chapter 206: Visiting the Fishing Tackle Shop_2
Lin Yang shook his head, "No, we’re not picky about food and don’t mind it being raw or cold. Just arrange anything. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I do feel a bit tired. I’ll go upstairs and check it out..."
Zhang Lin got busy in the kitchen preparing dinner while the others took their luggage and chose their rooms.
Every room was tidy, including clean sheets and duvet covers, so they could settle in straight after dropping off their luggage.
Lin Yang chose a room on the second floor, then filled a bathtub with warm water and quickly got in for a soak.
From Peng City to their current location in the United States, they had taken two flights with more than 18 hours in the air, followed by over an hour’s drive after landing. Lin Yang had been exhausted for a while.
Soaking in the warm bathtub, he relaxed swiftly, and the fatigue from the journey eased significantly.
After a bath and changing into fresh clothes, Lin Yang felt much more energized. He came downstairs where the sound of cooking was coming from the kitchen.
In less than an hour, dinner was ready.
Tomato and egg stir-fry, plain broccoli, braised beef with potatoes, sliced ham, a chicken soup, and the fragrant aroma of steamed rice—though the dinner was just home-cooked dishes and nothing luxurious, it was more than enough to satiate their growling stomachs.
Before eating, Lin Yang pulled out his phone and started recording a short video from outside the front door all the way to the evening meal in the dining room.
The content of the short video was brief, basically informing that they had safely arrived in the United States, found accommodation, and would start a live broadcast tomorrow while also visiting an outdoor fishing gear store in the United States.
After a hearty meal, the group went upstairs to rest early, before nine o’clock.
....
The night passed without incident.
The next morning, everyone got up, had a quick breakfast, and then got in the car to head straight to a large outdoor fishing gear store nearby.
Zhang Lin was right, the store was about 80km away from their lodging. The United States is vast with sparse population, unlike the densely populated areas in China. Along the way, most of the journey was past standalone villas.
Just after nine in the morning, they arrived at their destination.
As soon as they parked, the exterior of the outdoor fishing gear store amazed them. The building in front of them looked less like a gear store and more like a massive church, flying the American flag, with a single-story structure’s towering height creating an immense visual impact.
"This is the place. I’ll park the car, and then we can go in," Zhang Lin said, signaling with his turn light and heading towards the parking lot.
Soon after parking, the group entered through the main doors.
The immediate impression upon entering was one of vastness.
The decor at the entrance was nothing like what Lin Yang and the others had expected; it was less like a fishing gear store and more like a marine biology museum.
Directly inside the entrance, there hung a massive, flying saucer-shaped chandelier over three meters in diameter, and not far from the ceiling was a grand flyover extending from the door into the interior over fifty meters; the shelves were loaded with a variety of fishing gear products, covered in English letters. Given Lin Yang’s limited vocabulary, he could only understand the gist.
He took out his phone, assembled the live broadcast kit, and asked, "Xiao Zhang, they allow photos and live broadcasts here, right? We’re on foreign soil, and I don’t want to make any taboo mistakes."
Zhang Lin shook his head, "No problem. It looks like only the club members’ area has a ’No Photos’ sign, but anywhere else is fine to film."
With a positive response, Lin Yang opened the streaming platform app and set up a new live room with the name ’Join me as we visit an American chain of fishing and outdoor gear stores.’
The moment the live broadcast started, thousands of viewers flooded in.
"The host finally started broadcasting. Are we in an American’s store now?"
"Where are we now? Don’t tell me this is just a fishing gear store."
Lin Yang smiled calmly, "Hello, everyone. We are now inside a large outdoor fishing gear store located in Miami, Florida, in the United States. We’re just by the entrance at the moment. During our time here in the United States, our compatriot Zhang Lin will accompany us throughout. Come on, Xiao Zhang, say hello to our friends back home."
Zhang Lin faced the camera without any shyness and casually waved as a way of greeting.
"Gosh, is this really a fishing gear store?"
"What kind of international joke is this? I feel like it’s even bigger than the Walmart in the city center."
Lin Yang continued, "We are currently in the section for sea fishing gear. As everyone knows, I don’t know too much about this stuff, and we aren’t gear enthusiasts. We’ll just wander around and take a look."
The camera panned, focusing on the shelves of colorful lures in front of him.
"In the United States, pole fishing is an extremely niche method. Most anglers use the reel fishing method, which involves rods with reels, like the ocean rods and lure rods we commonly use in China. Look, behind me are all kinds of lures with various shapes, functions, and color schemes."
Only when Lin Yang was actually inside such a large store did he realize his knowledge of lures was still quite basic. Lures of all sizes, styles, and purposes for different fishing methods were on display. He was seeing many of these lures for the first time—they had something for any fish you could think of, and it was an eye-opener.
"Wow, Sebile’s lure kits, they’re really beautiful and for catching Big Mouth Bass."
"The guy above doesn’t know squat. Sebile doesn’t design their gear for just one specific type of fish. With such a big lure kit, you can fish for a multitude of species."
