Chapter 347: Chapter 182: Hang City Outing_2
Everyone usually fishes in different places, but coming here for a meal to relax truly is a different kind of experience.
A meal took two hours, and since the day after tomorrow is the Qiandao Lake fishing competition, everyone needed to head over in advance.
After everyone had packed up, Xiao Zhang, Wang Feng’s assistant, made a suggestion. He wanted to invite everyone to stay in his hometown, Longjing Village. Although it’s called a village, Longjing Village is quite different from ordinary villages.
The Longjing Tea produced here is renowned both domestically and internationally, and it’s the signature product of Longjing Village, after all, the tea is named after the place.
Of course, those who are somewhat knowledgeable about Longjing Tea would know that within it there are several grades, and one of the best categories is called Shifeng Longjing.
The so-called Shifeng refers to a mountain, and the Longjing tea trees that grow on this mountain produce Shifeng Longjing Tea. Coincidentally, Lion Peak Mountain is located right within Longjing Village.
Since Longjing Village is conveniently situated between Hang City and Qiandao Lake, the group drove straight to Xiao Zhang’s hometown, aka Longjing Village, in the afternoon.
Upon arrival, Longjing Village seemed to refresh everyone’s perception of what a village is; the village was exceedingly wealthy. Every household lived in a standalone villa decorated no less luxuriously than the houses in the city, and Xiao Zhang said that just about every villager owns a tea garden that produces Longjing Tea. Hence, many villagers earn over a million in income each year just from selling tea.
The village also has a sizable river flowing through it. Due to the impeccable environment, the water quality of this river is exceptionally clear. At this time, there was a row of people fishing by the river.
After having dinner at Xiao Zhang’s home, Wang Feng suggested they all go to the village riverbank to fish. His competition was in a couple of days and the second round was specifically night fishing. He wanted to get some practice in now and, with Lin Yang also present, he had many questions he wished to ask Lin Yang for advice.
After hearing his suggestion, Lin Yang and the others had no objections. With the environment being so good here, they assumed there would be plenty of fish in the river.
The five of them took their equipment and headed straight to the little river at the village entrance. When they arrived, there were still quite a few people fishing in the area.
With the weather getting hotter, the number of people night fishing would inevitably increase. Not for any other reason but simply because fish are more likely to bite in the cooler evening temperatures. Those who couldn’t catch fish during the day would come to fish at night; it’s as simple as that.
However, even if night fishing is popular, it wouldn’t surpass daytime fishing, so there were fewer people here than during the day.
The five of them lined up in a row and found a relatively flat spot to start fishing. Obviously, only Lin Yang, Wang Feng, and Li Xiaopeng were fishing this time.
As they set up their spots, Lin Yang began to light mosquito repellent incense behind their chairs. Even though it wasn’t completely dark yet, various mosquitoes were already making their appearance.
The most abundant were the tiny biters, scientifically known as midges, extremely small blood-sucking insects.
Adult midges are about 1-4 millimeters in length and primarily live in places with stagnant or moist soil, such as ponds, marshes, tree holes, and rock crevices.
There are also many of these mosquitoes in the green belts within cities, as these areas are constantly watered, creating an environment conducive to their survival.
Naturally, while watering the green belts, insecticide is also applied, so some areas don’t have too many of these tiny pests. But no one takes care of the areas near the water.
Although the tiny biters are annoying and itchy, the most dangerous near the water are the large mosquitoes with spotted legs. A bite from one of them is no joke; it’s common to see swelling the size of a ping-pong ball.
Therefore, for this night fishing trip, everyone was well-prepared. Besides mosquito coils, they also wore skin coats, and although there was no way to protect their faces, they could only keep moving and waving their hands when necessary.
Besides mosquito coils and clothing, it was also essential to carry a bottle of insect repellent spray, and then there were the headlamps and glowing floats, which were indispensable.
Just preparing these items took quite some time, and by the time they were ready to start night fishing, it had almost completely turned dark.
Lin Yang’s target for the day was the Yellow Catfish; therefore, he used green earthworms as bait, Wang Feng and Li Xiaopeng did similarly.
After baiting their hooks, the three of them cast their lines into their chosen fishing spots and began to wait.
It must be said that Lin Yang’s various skills and buffs would never let him down.
Truthfully, this method of fishing without pre-feeding the spot wouldn’t be very effective in such a large river since fish are unlikely to stay in one place. Without fish, even the best fishing skills are useless.
But Lin Yang was different. Once he cast his bait into the water, the attractiveness of the bait was enhanced. Fish from all directions that fed on earthworms would more easily detect the smell and gradually swim over, gathering around.
Unless the river was devoid of fish, he was bound to slowly lure them over.
Sure enough, less than ten minutes had passed and Lin Yang’s float in the river started to show movements. His float was extremely sensitive, and for him, there’s no such thing as too sensitive, only not sensitive enough.
