Chapter 327: Chapter 178: Crazy Unlocking

If we are talking about the meat quality or size, the Rock Dragon naturally much larger than the flower dragon, be it from Australia or Africa. There are many Rock Dragons that weigh over five or six pounds.

However, the flower dragon is different. Although it is long, it isn’t very big, with the biggest ones weighing just two to three pounds. The largest ones can be about 70 centimeters in length, but their whiskers are particularly long, with even the shorter ones measuring over a meter.

The reason why this type of lobster is so expensive and popular now is that, in Guangdong Province, many businesses hold a company feast known as the "year-end dinner" before Chinese New Year, and the best, biggest dish with the most festive appeal at this dinner is the flower dragon.

Thus, large flower dragons often fetch astronomical prices, as many people are just seeking a lucky symbol, and they are willing to spend a lot on it.

Unfortunately, no one can eat flower dragons now, as a law was enacted last year, adding 517 species of wildlife to the protected list, including 43 species upgraded to first-class protection and 65 species promoted from second to first-class protection. Another 474 new species were listed as second-class protected animals.

The Jinxiu Lobster, also known as the flower dragon, is now included in this list, which means it is now strictly protected like the Yellowlip Fish, but that didn’t stop Lin Yang from checking off another entry in his guide.

Looking at the two long whiskers of the creature before him, he suddenly reached out and grabbed them. Just as he did so, the sizable flower dragon began to struggle, but its strength was far too inferior to his.

Lin Yang easily pulled the creature out from its cave and opened his mesh bag, ready to place it inside. But just as he was about to do so, he suddenly felt a movement behind him.

Humans are inherently wary of the ocean, as it’s not a habitat meant for humans, so even though he was enjoying checking off his guide underwater, his vigilance never waned.

Sensing an unknown danger approaching from behind, Lin Yang immediately sought refuge behind a boulder and then turned to look back, only to be genuinely startled by what he saw.

At that moment, in his line of vision, a giant shark was swimming towards him. However, it wasn’t attacking directly—it seemed as if it was patrolling the area.

It was unclear whether the shark had noticed Lin Yang or not. He was now hiding behind a large boulder, and the shark just swam over the top of him.

In most people’s minds, sharks are often synonymous with ferocity. However, sharks generally don’t attack humans unless provoked or annoyed.

But that applies only under normal circumstances. Given that different sharks have different temperaments, some may be more irritable and therefore more likely to attack, such as the Great White Shark.

In other cases, sharks might also attack humans if attracted by blood, or if humans infuriate them, especially when encountering a particularly ferocious shark.

Another situation where sharks might attack is due to mistaken identity, like when humans lie on surfboards, which sharks could mistake for their prey, such as seals, thus prompting an attack.

Lin Yang, hiding beside the rock, did not provoke the shark, and the shark did not merely swim away. After passing over him, it unexpectedly turned around and came back, clearly having spotted Lin Yang.

Watching this scene, he became extremely tense. As mentioned earlier, most sharks do not normally attack humans, but there are exceptions, and this one was one of them.

Lin Yang had already recognized the type of shark: it was a mature Bull Shark, also known as one of the "Three Fools of the Sea."

Why are they called the "Three Fools of the Sea"?

Because they are among the few sharks in the ocean that might actively attack humans.

According to the records, there are basically three types of sharks that will attack humans: Bull Sharks, Great White Sharks, and the biggest fool, the Tiger Shark, also called the "garbage can of the sea."

The Bull Shark is the least foolish among them because, though they do attack humans, they have strong survival abilities and can even encroach on crocodiles’ territories in freshwater, which is why they rank third among the fools.

The Great White Shark, ranking second, is definitely stronger than the Weasel Shark in combat, but it often misidentifies surfers for seals, proving its foolishness.

The most foolish, the Tiger Shark, will not hesitate to attack any object it encounters in the sea, whether it be fish, sea turtles, dolphins, killer whales, Great White Sharks, or even humans; it will also attack human-discarded trash like cans, tin boxes, plastic bags, and bottles... Hence, it is considered the most foolish fish.

While there may be some invertebrates even more foolish, as some of them lack a brain, among the large marine creatures commonly observed by humans, the Tiger Shark definitely has one of the lowest intelligences.
