Chapter 301: Chapter 172: The Sea Bream Family

Although he said that, his mood throughout the entire day was truly fantastic. Not only did he get to fully indulge in his passion for sea fishing, but he also made several thousand yuan. For someone who enjoyed fishing, there was nothing more exhilarating.

"Brother Yang, are we going out to sea to fish tomorrow?" Yue’er asked as she looked at him at his side.

After watching Lin Yang and Li Xiaopeng haul in catch after catch today, Yue’er was seriously tempted. If they were going out to sea again tomorrow, she wanted to have a try. She didn’t need to catch a big fish, even a smaller one would do.

"Of course, tomorrow we’ll take our own boat out for fishing," Lin Yang said with a smile.

He had asked Master Chai to teach him how to drive a yacht and to purchase coordinates in consideration of the future. Renting a boat to fish would not only save some money but also offer more freedom. They could return whenever they wanted, or even spend the night out at sea and come back after a day or two. After all, the journey back and forth was a waste of time.

"Really? That’s fantastic! This way, we can fish to our heart’s content in one go!"

Truth be told, although Li Xiaopeng had his fill today, he was not completely satisfied. After all, they had only fished for a few hours at most, and the variety of fish caught was too limited; other than a few groupers, it was mostly red seabreams.

Back at the hotel, everyone had dinner and then returned to their respective rooms to rest early.

Upon returning to his room, Lin Yang first used his mobile phone to have a video chat through WeChat with his dad to get an update on the fishing grounds and the fishery back home. According to Old Lin, everything was going well, and all tasks were being carried out orderly, including the construction. Hearing this, Lin Yang was relieved. Surely, leaving the fishing ground and fishery matters to his dad and uncle was the right choice; they were capable of managing everything. In fact, with Lin Yang’s connections and reputation in Jiangdong City, setting up a fishery would be absolutely feasible.

Then he talked with his parents about his sea fishing experience. Lin Yang thought that if he had the chance in the future, he should also bring his parents to enjoy a seaside vacation. They had been busy their whole lives and had yet to have a seaside holiday.

After chatting with his family for nearly half an hour, he began researching information online about sea fishing and yacht driving.

The thought of going out to sea in his own yacht tomorrow made Lin Yang somewhat excited, but amidst the excitement, some precautions, especially regarding safety, couldn’t be forgotten.

...

The next day, they didn’t get up as early.

By a little after seven, the three of them had a simple breakfast near the hotel, then Li Xiaopeng drove them to Peng City’s Bay Yacht Club.

By the time Lin Yang and his party arrived, Boss Chen was already there waiting for them.

Also by his side was a dark-skinned middle-aged man whose clothing bore the title of yacht driving coach, indicating that he was likely the yacht pilot for the area.

"Let me introduce you; this is Master Lin, and this is Coach Feng, our best instructor here."

"Nice to meet you, Master Lin."

"Hello, Coach Feng," Lin Yang said to the coach, who had a sincere smile, and they shook hands. Then the group walked toward a boat.

"Which kind of license would Master Lin like to obtain?" asked Coach Feng as they walked.

"I’m not really clear about yacht licenses. I can only drive a little, and I don’t quite understand the licenses," Lin Yang said, shaking his head. Indeed, he didn’t know much about yacht licensing.

After all, his exposure had been brief; he had only learned how to operate a yacht the day before, without delving into licensing details.

Hearing this, Coach Feng began to explain.

There are two types of yacht licenses, A and B. The A license applies to the sea, and the B license is for inland waters.

The highest-level A license is AIF, which is equivalent to a car driving license—it allows you to operate any kind of boat at sea.

In literal terms, it qualifies you to drive yachts of any length with mechanical and sail hybrid propulsion at sea.

Next, there’s the AIE, which allows you to operate any length yacht with mechanical propulsion power at sea.

Then there’s the A2F, allowing you to operate yachts of 20 meters and below with mechanical and sail hybrid propulsion at sea, and the A2E is for yachts of 20 meters and below with mechanical propulsion power at sea.

Of course, Lin Yang intended to go for the AIF, or at the very least the AIE, as the A2 licenses were too limiting. If someday he were to afford a yacht over 20 meters, a lesser license would not suffice, and he would have to waste time retraining.

Now, the B licenses for inland waters are somewhat similar.

The BIF allows you to operate any mechanically and sail-propelled yacht in appropriate inland waters, and the BIE lets you operate any yacht with mechanical propulsion in inland waters.

The B2F and B2E are not about size but are limited to closed inland water operations.

After Coach Feng’s explanation, Lin Yang quickly understood the differences between the two types of licenses.

At Boss Chen’s place, he could directly apply for both AIF and BIF.

After thinking it over, it was clearly better to apply for both licenses at once, should they ever come in handy—who knows.
