Chapter 285: Chapter 167: Off to Sea Fishing_3
Speaking of teppanyaki, there’s a story. Although teppanyaki is now widely popularized in Japan, it was actually invented by sailors from Xiyaguo in the 15th and 16th centuries.
It wasn’t until the early 20th century that Japanese Americans found this cooking method interesting and introduced the technique to Japan, leading to the teppanyaki we know today.
Of course, if we trace back to the roots, Yanhuang had already begun practicing this style of cooking since ancient times; it just didn’t have a systematized form and wasn’t as flashy.
The three had little interest in these foreign delicacies for the moment, as they had been busy running around all afternoon and were quite hungry. They were fine with trying new things, but for a main meal, they preferred local cuisine.
When they arrived at the last buffet restaurant, they noticed it was the busiest place.
"Hello, honored guests, right this way...."
As Lin Yang and his two companions entered the buffet restaurant and swiped their room cards, a waiter promptly led them to an empty table.
The cost of the meal was directly deducted from his room charge, so there was no need to pay on the spot.
After registering their seats, the waiter also provided them with a menu.
Yes, this was a la carte buffet style, not like typical buffets where you pick up food with a plate yourself.
Lin Yang took the menu first and couldn’t help admitting that even the buffet in a five-star hotel looked very luxurious.
Although they didn’t yet know how fresh the ingredients were, the variety and presentation were indeed impressive.
Lobster soup, lobster pasta, pomfret with squid ink pasta, charcoal-grilled pomfret with cheese, Emperor Crab, ribeye steak, foie gras, 5J ham from Xiyaguo... all these were available and unlimited.
Lin Yang quickly scanned the menu and ordered a charcoal-grilled cheese pomfret, a ribeye steak, 5J ham from Xiyaguo, an Australian wagyu tenderloin, a white truffle risotto, and a pan-seared silver cod; he decided to start with these and see if more were needed later.
As for the drink, he only wanted a glass of juice.
Next, Yue’er and Li Xiaopeng also began placing their orders. Seeing so many dishes, their eyes nearly popped out, especially Li Xiaopeng, who momentarily didn’t know which to choose.
Seeing his indecision, as he seemed to want to try everything, he ordered seven or eight dishes in one breath. Seeing that he was about to order more, Lin Yang promptly stopped him. Ordering too much not only wasted food but would also incur a fine, starting at triple the cost, so it was better to order less at the start and add more if needed later.
After they finished ordering, while waiting for the food, two people who had just finished eating walked by. They passed right by Lin Yang, and one of them suddenly stopped.
"Lin Yang? Are you Master Lin?!"
"Ah, hello, yes, I am."
Upon hearing someone call him, Lin Yang looked up and saw a girl wearing glasses looking at him excitedly.
Needless to say, she must have been a fan.
"Wow! I can’t believe I’m meeting Master Lin in person, I’m so lucky! Master Lin, can I take a photo with you?" the girl with glasses asked excitedly.
"No problem." Lin Yang had no airs about him; it was just a photo.
After taking a photo with the girl, he had just breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed several more people, both men and women, walking towards him and recognizing him, wanting a photo as well.
Not wanting to delay their meal, Lin Yang stood up and obliged everyone with their requests.
After taking photos, the dishes they had ordered arrived one after another. It had to be said, the service was quite fast; the dishes were probably pre-made and just reheated.
They weren’t too picky since the ingredients were fine, and the price of 588 per person for such high-end ingredients was quite worth it.
After trying the pomfret and steak, the ingredients were fine, and the taste was pretty good, though not as delicious as those in top-tier hotels, but still not bad.
After finishing their buffet dinner, the three went straight back to their rooms to rest.
After returning to his room, Lin Yang tried out the hotel’s massage bathtub, which was indeed very comfortable.
After bathing, he watched TV for a while, browsed his phone, and then called home before falling asleep.
Lin Yang woke up early around six the next morning, excited for his first day of sea fishing. Once awake, he couldn’t fall back asleep.
After getting dressed, he found both Li Xiaopeng and Yue’er appeared just as excited as he was.
"To the dock, let’s go!"
The three gathered their things and took the elevator downstairs.
However, they did not go to the fourth floor for the buffet breakfast. In Lin Yang’s view, while paying 588 for lunch and dinner was acceptable, 188 for breakfast seemed a bit of a rip-off. Wouldn’t it be nicer to eat out?
Plus, they still needed to buy some gear and bait for sea fishing, which would be a good chance to sort out breakfast.
"Master Lin!"
"Yes, let’s go buy the fishing gear first!"
"Right!"
When Lin Yang and his companions came downstairs, Xiao Wu, who had greeted them the day before, was already waiting there.
The three got into the car, and under Xiao Wu’s guidance, they quickly reached a large fishing gear store, which specialized in selling domestic products.
