The Time-Limited Love and Marriage -
Chapter 145
Chapter 145: Chapter 145
On the way back, Jiang Moxi clung to Fu Youhan like an octopus.
Fu Youhan was so pestered by her that he reacted and tried to pull her off.
But as soon as he got one of her hands off, Jiang Moxi looked at him, her voice husky as she whispered, "I’m feeling awful, let me hug you!"
Her eyes always shone with glimmering pool-like waves, bright and shiny.
Now, with such a pitiful Xixi expression, she was like a natural-born charmer, irresistibly alluring.
Fu Youhan felt his blood ignited by her, yet he still tried to restrain himself, "You deserve it, who told you to drink when you know you shouldn’t within a year."
Though he was merciless with his words, he didn’t pull her hand away again.
But Jiang Moxi was not satisfied, and started to tug on his shirt.
Fu Youhan had no choice but to hold down her hand, "Stop it, we’ll talk about it when we get home."
The driver, Chi Jing, listened to this dialogue and silently raised the partition in the middle.
However, with the partition going up, Jiang Moxi became even more unrestrained, repeatedly testing Fu Youhan’s limits.
"If you keep this up, I’ll throw you onto the main road."
Fu Youhan indeed wanted to teach Jiang Moxi a lesson, so she wouldn’t drink behind his back again.
But as soon as his voice turned cold, Jiang Moxi started to mutter pitifully, "Uncle, don’t throw me away."
At that, the mental defenses Fu Youhan had so arduously built collapsed in an instant, turning into a joke.
Annoyed, he ordered Chi Jing, "Find a deserted stretch of road to stop the car, and go have some late-night snacks."
It was obvious what was meant by stopping the car at this time.
Chi Jing felt like he was force-fed a belly full of dog food, not hungry in the slightest, let alone in the mood for late-night snacks.
But what could he do?
He still had to pull over into a secluded lane and get out of the car to hang around in a mosquito-infested area by himself.
Nearly two hours later, Chi Jing finally received a call from Fu Youhan.
Turns out, after they finished, Fu Youhan drove straight back to Tianqin Bay.
So Chi Jing had to hail a taxi on his own, carrying a belly full of dog food back home...

In the time that followed, the relationship between Jiang Moxi and Fu Youhan continued to heat up.
Even Si Lin, the wall-digger, had bumped into Fu Youhan picking up Jiang Moxi at the gates of Technical College several times.
Like this evening, Si Lin couldn’t help but arrive half an hour early at the gates of Technical College, and used a knife to slash the tires of Jiang Moxi’s motorbike.
Then, he sat in the car with a nonchalant expression, waiting for Jiang Moxi to arrive.
Half an hour later, Jiang Moxi finished her class and came to her bike.
Seeing the completely flattened rear wheel, her willow-like eyebrows immediately furrowed.
This bike, it’s burning a hole in my wallet, isn’t it?
It was just repaired the other day, and now the tire is punctured again?
Just as Jiang Moxi was about to crouch down to inspect how the tire was punctured, a clear male voice came along with footsteps.
"Do you need help?"
Jiang Moxi turned her head and saw Si Lin walking toward her.
That mixed-race handsome face still carried a somewhat amused indifference.
Jiang Moxi raised an eyebrow, "Are you going to help me push it to the repair shop?"
Si Lin was almost laughing with irritation, "Do I look like a mover?"
If he couldn’t beat her in a fight, he really wanted to beat her up.
"What else could you do for me?" The look in Jiang Moxi’s charming eyes was one of disdain for trash.
"I could take you home, and we could grab a meal on the way."
Chi Jing suggested.
"No need, I lose my appetite just by looking at you," Jiang Moxi said.
"After all, I did stand up for you in that matter with the Bu Family. You’re not giving me any face by refusing even a meal in return?"
The smile on Si Lin’s face faded a bit, as he hadn’t ever been so blatantly rejected before.
Hearing these words, Jiang Moxi’s beautiful face showed a moment of contemplation.
She didn’t like owing people favors, especially if it was to Si Lin.
She was considering whether to invite him to a meal to shut Si Lin’s mouth and also to give Third Master Fu Youhan a heads-up when a familiar business car appeared not too far away.
Seeing that car, Jiang Moxi’s eyes immediately softened quite a bit.
As Si Lin was marveling at the transformation on Jiang Moxi’s face, feeling like he was witnessing "her smile, makes the rest of the worldly splendor lose color," Jiang Moxi’s voice came through.
"If I treat you to a meal today, can we call it even?"
Si Lin was still a bit distracted by what he had just seen and simply nodded.
"Then it’s settled. After I buy you the meal, don’t bring up the matter again."
Jiang Moxi’s request was just like the last time she had helped him ward off unwanted romantic advances, so Si Lin didn’t suspect anything.
However, Si Lin didn’t expect that in the next moment, Jiang Moxi would start walking across the street.
By the time Si Lin came back to his senses, he realized that the car Jiang Moxi was heading towards was none other than Fu Youhan’s regular mode of transportation.
Jiang Moxi leaned over the car window in the back seat, said something, and then quickly turned back to Si Lin and said, "Just follow our car."
Across the street, Si Lin saw Fu Youhan looking at him through the lowered car window.
He didn’t appreciate the faint mocking curve at the corner of Fu Youhan’s lips.
Nor did he appreciate the way Jiang Moxi used the word "our," excluding him from the equation.
Especially when he watched Jiang Moxi easily take a seat in Fu Youhan’s car; it felt as if something in his heart was being pierced through violently.
At first, Si Lin pursued Jiang Moxi to drive a wedge between her and Fu Youhan so that his sister, Si Ruo, could get what she wanted.
But now, he wasn’t sure if it was for Si Ruo’s sake, or to compete with Fu Youhan, or perhaps for other reasons...
Regardless, Si Lin ended up following the car to a Sichuan hotpot restaurant.
Since Jiang Moxi had agreed to pay for the meal, of course, she chose a restaurant within her budget.
She searched online, and this Sichuan hotpot restaurant had the cheapest prices in the vicinity.
Looking at the fiery red hotpot broth that the waiter brought over, Si Lin started questioning whether Jiang Moxi’s invitation was an expression of gratitude or a form of retaliation.
At that moment, Fu Youhan spoke up: "Young Master Si, let me toast you on behalf of Moxi to thank you for your assistance with the Bu Family incident before."
Fu Youhan was quite down-to-earth, not showing any aversion to the bustling hotpot restaurant and swiftly opened a bottle of beer to toast to Si Lin.
But in fact, Fu Youhan’s words were not very heartfelt.
Because even without Si Lin’s intervention, he would have done what needed to be done.
Si Lin, staring at that bottle of beer, asked Fu Youhan with a sly smile,
"May I ask, Third Master Fu, in what capacity are you toasting on behalf of Moxi, thanking me? As her boyfriend? An ex-boyfriend’s uncle?"
Jiang Moxi immediately gave Si Lin a cold glance. She had guessed that the guy was bound to stir up trouble.
So she wasn’t nice to him in her reply: "If you dare to say you’re my boyfriend again, I’ll beat up your sister."
Si Lin: "..."
